Jordan's POV:
My night with the boys went well. Most of the time, we spent talking. I wish I could help Dylan and Chelsea. Sadly, I can't. They need to sit and talk. There is no other solution. I want them to do this before the wedding. Otherwise, they won't enjoy it. Here, I agree with Melanie. Our guests should have fun. I am a bit excited about my best friend's proposal. I'm happy that he decided to do it. He and Katy have been together for a long time. Also, they lived together for years. I'm sure she will be happy about this. Both of them deserve it. It's better if I focus on my wedding. This is only one day. I don't need to stress over this. We have checked everything. It will be perfect. The question is what we'll do after that. The boys asked me about a trip. I don't understand why people want us to go. This is something we should decide. Melanie is not in the mood for trips. Neither do I. Both of us prefer to focus on something else. I think we spend too much time in the coffee shops. They are already successful. Nothing horrible can happen. Well, I prefer to keep everything under control. The same goes for her. This is why we are a great team. I'm sure we'll have a bright future together. First, I need to survive the wedding. I'm not a fan of the attention, but I will do it. I hope that everyone will be happy.
I said yes. It's not like I had a choice. All this was my idea. Melanie said that she didn't feel anything. Surprisingly, I can say the same. I don't feel any different. It's like I am at a party or something similar. I'm not the happiest person in the world. Neither, I am sad. I have no idea what is going on with me. Maybe that is because nothing will change. We'll keep doing the same things as before. No one can change that. Melanie and I are happy with our lives.
All of us are going to the restaurant. Melanie removed a few layers from her dress. Call me a creep, but I can't stop looking at her. I love the dress. She looks so pretty, especially with the angel tattoo at the back. We should get matching ones again. The whole time, she was holding my hand. I'm glad that she is in a good mood. I should thank Jason. He stole people's attention from us. We arrived after twenty minutes. We chose a restaurant close to the place where we had the ceremony. Everyone sat down and started looking around. I think they like the decorations.
- While everyone is eating, if someone wants to give a speech, now is the time.
- If no one wants it, I'll start. - Adriana said
- Here you go.
- Hello, my name is Adriana. I will classify myself as a family friend.
- She is the reason why we are here. - Melanie said, and everyone laughed
- Yes, it's my fault. I think now is the perfect time to tell you the truth.
- What are you talking about? - Melanie asked
- I lied to you about what I said a few years ago.
- How?
- Melanie used to come to me when she had a bad day or wanted to know if something good would happen. I can't predict the future.
- She is good at guessing.
- True. I have told her things that turned out to be true. I knew about her tattoos. She never hid them from me. One day, I went to the coffee shop where Jordan used to work before he opened his. I immediately noticed his angel wing tattoo. It's rare to see people with the same one. Melanie didn't believe everything I said. Well, I know she was curious. So I let a fly in her head. I told her that her soulmate would be a person with the same tattoo as hers. Of course, she didn't believe me.
- This is why you told me to go to that coffee shop.
- Yes. I didn't know what would happen, but I decided to try. I mean, look where we are now. I guess I did my job well.
- I hate you so much right now.
- I know. I hope you two will be happy and will visit me more often.
- We'll try our best.
- I hope so.
Almost everyone said something. Melanie decided not to do anything. She said that we could talk at home. Honestly, I like this idea. I planned a speech, but it was terrible. It's good that I didn't say anything. Everyone was sitting and talking. Our friends were busy with Jason and Katy. Well, mostly, it was Natalie and Noah. Dylan and Chelsea didn't seem close. I saw them talking, but I have no idea what happened. Melanie used the chance to snuggle. Some things never change.
After two hours, it was time for the cake. This is my moment to shine. Not really. Let's say that I spend much time thinking about the design. I think she will like it. That's why I can ask someone to film this.
- It's time for the sweetest part of the day. I spent a lot of time thinking about the design of the cake. I need a volunteer. Who wants to film this?
- I will do it. - Jason said
- Thanks. Melanie, you have to close your eyes.
- Why?
- Because it's a surprise.
- Fine.
- No sneak peek. I know you.
- Don't worry. I will keep her eyes closed. - Katy said
- Are you two ready?
- Yes.
- You can bring the cake.
- Here, you go, sir. - the woman said and left
- You can open your eyes.
- No way. That's a cake! - Katy said
- Melanie, what do you think?
- Is this at the top what I think it is? - she asked, with tears in her eyes
- Yes.
- It will be a crime if we eat this. - she said, and I laughed
- Do you like it? - I asked, walking up to her
- I love it. Black and green. You know me so well.
- I wanted to make sure that I did well.
- You did perfectly. Thank you so much. - she said and hugged me
- Do you want to cut the first piece?
- No, I can't. Someone else should destroy this.
- At least you can take a picture with it.
- Only if you are with me.
- You don't need to ask me twice.
I wanted to take a million pictures of us today. I don't care if I get tired. I want to picture everything from today. After some time, everyone gave us presents. We didn't want anything. It's more than enough that our friends and families are here. This is why we invited them. Also, we can afford whatever we want. Maybe not absolutely everything, but most of the things. We didn't do this for presents or anything else.
- Initially, we wanted to give you a trip. Since none of you will use it, we'll give you money. - Chelsea said
- There is no need for that. - Melanie said
- Don't worry. You can use some of the money for my baby shower. - Katy said, and we laughed
- No problem. You can tell me when it is, and I'll come.
- Now, it's my turn. - Melanie said
- What do you mean? We agreed. No presents.
- I cheated.
- Ok, I'm listening.
- Your present is in this envelope.
- Finally, they are going on a trip. - Chelsea said
- It's not going to happen. - Melanie said
- What is this? Hold on. I know this place. There used to be a clothing store.
- Yes. Now, the place is for sale. Cassie and Josh worked enough time for us. I'm sure they can run a coffee shop perfectly.
- What are you saying?
- We can hire two more people to work with them, while we work in our new coffee shop.
- Are you serious?
- Yes.
- Does this mean that I can see you every day?
- You are obligated, yes.
- How much does the place cost?
- Less than we spent on the wedding. - she said, chuckling
- I will think about this, but we know the answer.
- We can start with your empire.
- Stop with this. It's not an empire.
- Honey, this is what it looks like. - mom said and laughed
- Thanks a lot, Melanie.
- You're welcome. When should we start?
- Not tomorrow, for sure.
- I won't wait too long.
- Don't worry. You will get an answer soon.
Around dinnertime, Melanie and I were at home. Our parents came with us to help us with the luggage. It's not like we had many things. We gave our presents to the guests. They liked them a lot. I'm glad that everything went the way we wanted it. Maybe I should say even better. I went to make dinner, but none of us was hungry. Melanie said it wasn't worth it. We won't eat. Both of us went to our room and laid down. I'm tired. Well, there is one last thing that I want to do today. It's time for her to know the truth.
- Melanie?
- Yes.
- I want to tell you something.
- What is it?
- I want you to know why I got my angel wing tattoo.
- Are you sure?
- I am. I have been thinking about this for some time. You deserve to know everything.
- Thanks.
- When I was sixteen, I had some problems. Let's say that I wasn't feeling great. After some time, I did something. It almost ended my life. I thought this was the end, but no. I'm still here. No one knows why I did this. Are you ok?
- Yes. I need some fresh air. - she said and went to the backyard
- Melanie, what is going on? - I asked, walking after her
- Nothing.
- Are you sure?
- Yes, I am. - she said, choking on her words.
- I'm here. You can tell me.
- I.
- You what?
- I did.
- What did you do?
- I did the same. - she said and broke down
- What? Really?
- Yes. I didn't know what to do. I was constantly upset. Then I decided to end this. Well, I couldn't. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been here. Someone saved me.
- Maybe it wasn't meant to be. I mean, look where we are. Together. At home. Our home.
- I'm sorry. I didn't want it to end like that. - Melanie said, crying
- Hey, everything will be fine. I'm here. I won't leave you. I promise.
- I couldn't stand this anymore. It was too much for me.
- Calm down. It was in the past. Let's think about the future.
- Promise me that you will never do such a thing again. Please.
- I promise. Since then, I haven't done anything like that. I focused on you.
- I want to go to bed.
- Sure. Let's go. We can talk in the morning.
This is why I didn't tell Melanie about the tattoo. I was afraid of her reaction. I had no idea she did the same thing. We found it weird that we had the same ones. No one knew the reason behind them. I feel horrible about her. At least, this is in the past. None of us will talk about it. We should focus on the future. I can't believe that I have the opportunity to work with her in a coffee shop. We agreed not to give each other presents. That is because we have everything. I had no idea she had planned this. I'll make sure we do it all perfectly. I hope that we can have success like with the other two shops.
