∽ m i r a c l e ∽   "Hey, Miracle! I won’t tell you that you should take care, but please be friendly and never bully anyone." Kuya Mike reminded me once I got out of his car. My jaw dropped. What? I looked at him again with a frown. "I appreciate your advice, but you’re thinking that I’m bullying someone?" Kuya Mike laughed. “Oh, Miracle, I’ve known you ever since you were so little. You won't deprive yourself of the opportunity to torment people your own age. You get bored so easily, so there’s a possibility that you’ll bully someone.” I scrunched my face up. Guilty as charged. “Fine, I won't,” I huffed and answered back. Then he only winked at me and left. Classes would start in a few minutes, so I had to walk now. When I stepped inside the school premises, someone braced me by the shoulders. "Natsumi!" Who else? The only two girls. I secretly groaned while I facepalm. "Good morning!" They both greeted. "Yeah, morning," I replied lazily and forcefully smiled. Smile? No. I just lifted a corner from my lips. "You look sleepy, Nat," Ashley told me with her sweet voice. I hummed as a sign of saying yes. "Ah!" Ellianna exclaimed. "It’s still early, why don't we go to the greenhouse?" Wah. I looked at her. Her invitation caught my attention. "I want!" I asserted with my not-so-desperate expression. I liked plants, especially flowers. And so, it happened. We went to the greenhouse. Fresh air and sunny day. I wandered my eyes around. All of the flowers had blossomed ever so beautifully. The scent of the flowers had diffused in the therapeutic atmosphere, making my head held high to savor it. "Whad’ya think, Nat?" Elli asked me while grinning brightly. "It’s pretty,” I answered in a serene manner and held a red rose. "Oh, I never knew that you like flowers, Nat," Ashley said. I only grinned and questioned them, "I just noticed, are you two are somewhat blood-related or whatever?” Ash laughed. "No, Nat. Well, ever since, our parents are really close, so it happened that Elli and I became too!” “Right!” Elli asserted joyfully. "And we’re so glad that you’re here with us, because it has always been us two.” I only smiled as my polite acknowledgment. I appreciated what she said, but I wasn’t sure if I would believe Ellianna’s words. She was somewhat a riddle to me. She had that kind of mystic smile that could give off a misconception about her. "Alrighty! It’s about time!" I was a little surprised by Elli's announcement. "Let’s head to class." Eh, time already? Time was the most deceiving existing-creation ever. Anyway, I'd come again. We headed to our room together. As we entered the class, Miss Marionne was still not around. I checked the time, three minutes before seven-thirty. Everyone was in a lively mood, all noisy—which was really annoying for me. I sat on my chair irritatingly and stayed silent. Seeing this room made me really sleepy. Yawning and placing my hands on my chin, I felt my eyes moistened. Boring day. I was also attending class in Japan, and because of my life there was very violent, so I had to risk my student life doing my missions. That was might the reason why Dad sent me here. But, could his plan to keep me as thin air succeed? Could my days be more peaceful? Could the world make my life in silence? Could I live normally? Can I? Will they? Thinking of that made me really, really annoyed, plus the noises they were making. I calmed myself. Like I could stop them. This was how they live their lives. I sighed loudly and closed my eyes. People were incorrigible. They existed not to understand each other. How could a person like me could stop them? I yawned again. Argh, I couldn't stand this sleepiness! "Wah!~ Nat, you're so cute!" I gazed at Ellianna. She was smiling from ear-to-ear with her sparkly eyes. I only grimaced, while giving her a 'you-are-creepy' look. I was about to face forward when Sean's face popped in front of my face! Uwah, that’s surprised me! His face was really close, like two inches apart. He was inspecting my face as if I was a biological microorganism. Deciding not to talk, I gave him an irritated expression. "You’re Natsumi, right?" he asked and my mouth automatically fell open. After that, he never talked any further and just left me as he went back to his seat. What was that? Whatever. The time came and Miss Marionne arrived. Once our class started, I didn’t stop yawning and yawning. Good thing, Miss Marionne couldn't see me. Well, I was on the blind spot, that was why. Until the very last long, it was finally our lunch break. Ah~ I survived! We were currently heading to the cafeteria and we saw the four hags along the way. They were all glaring at me. Okay . . ? Like I could care. "Just a question," I spoke. They both looked at me with a 'what?' look. "Do you, perhaps, know those hags?" "Huh? Hags?" they asked bewilderedly. "I mean, that group of girls consists of four members. And I personally call they ‘hags’, because they look so witchy for me.” Ashley laughed aloud. "It’s Monique and her slaves!" "Eh? Slaves?" I repeated. "Whatever she calls her friends, but we call them ‘slaves’," she told me. "And as for Monique Taylor, the Queen Bee and leader of the cheer-leading squad here in UdS." "Yeah," Elli concurred. "Her parents are also one of the major stockholders of this university, so she kinda has that authority to reign here. Really a brat.” I only pursed my lips as I continued listening to her. "And she's absolutely obsessed with Chance Gabriel Cain." “Chance? The guy in our class?” Elli responded yes to my question. "Chance's family owns this university. And he’s usually with his friends: Sean Andrew Scott, Justine Sahm Yu, Kieffer Alex Lee, and Yaehl Jeremy Nicolas." I knotted my eyebrows closely. Kieffer and Yaehl? I knew their names, but I didn't know their faces. "Actually, you forgot to mention the last guy, Elli," Ashley specified. "Who?" "He’s not currently here, though,” Elli replied to me. "And he’s not worth mentioning. Why are we talking about them, by the way?” I shrugged. I only opened the topic about the hags, not the guys. Lunch break was over when we all agreed to return to our homeroom. I didn’t want to attend class. I wanted to sleep. It was boring inside. Sleepy, sleepy. Sleepy Miracle. "Uhm,” I cleared my throat. "I forgot to mention, but I have something to get in the Auxiliary Office. You should head first, I’d catch up later." "What is that?" Ash prompted. "We’ll go with you." "No!” I incredulously said. “It’ll be quick and I'll be back in an instant." I hoped they didn’t notice the alarm in my voice. "Okay, then,” Elli concurred. “Just be back.” Then she dragged Ashley away. Oh, that was easy. I started walking in the opposite direction of our homeroom and thought of a place where I could rest. Infirmary? Gym? Or in the greenhouse? And just to think of it, this school had a lot of green spaces. I wondered if I could sleep under a tree? Oh, right. That would be really nice. Walking and walking. I was just walking when sensed some familiar presence. Even if I wouldn’t look back, I knew already who they were. Who else? The Hags. When they were near me, I felt someone grabbed my arm. "Hey, Loser.” I heard Monique’s voice and looked at her blankly. "It's nice to see you again." I sighed helplessly. "What do you need?" "Well, we still have unfinished business, dear." "Oh, really?" I plastered a fake smile, provoking her. "Hey, you know what? Le’mme just mind my own business, can’t we, Miss I-Don’t-Care?" I said dryly, pulling my arm back, and turned my heels. People were annoying. Really annoying. "You!!" she squealed. "How dare you?!" and grabbed my arm again. As for my most appreciated surprise, she slapped me hard on my left cheek! My emotions started to burn. I looked at her as if there was a torment in my brain. I clenched my jaw while gripping my balled fists so tight, depicting a clear tension building up in every fiber of muscles. I remained silent and calmed myself before I could break her neck off. "You don't know whom you are bumping with, stupid!" she stressed and looked like she was going to slap me again. I readied myself, I would not going to allow her to do it again. I would beat the hell out of her if she did. But before she could do it . . . "Mind joining your business?" Someone said, and as if on cue, my body stopped responding and I remained standing like a statue. The same as these girls in front of me. Who owns that cold voice? I slowly gazed at the owner. Staring at him without shadowing emotions in me, he stood there with delineated supremacy on his shoulders.   ↭ ♡ ↭ handtheirend
