Pisani cleared his throat to address the Public Prosecutor: ‘Doctor De Nicola do you have any more witnesses to call to testify?’
De Nicola seemed almost to be sharpening his claws in responding with his usual courtesy: ‘Yes, Your Honour, the last one. Please call Dr. Paolo Aureli’, he said turning round.
A few seconds later, a thin, elderly man took the oath. De Nicola got straight to the point.
‘Dr Aureli, how long have you worked at Salus?’
Aureli gulped visibly. He obviously felt like a fish out of water. It often happens to someone who has never taken part in a criminal hearing.
