Scarlet grabbed her milkshake from the countertop. Placing a tip in the jar, she walked away from the cafeteria. Passing a bunch of people along the way to the elevator she simply gave them a head nod, considering she was busy drinking her shake from a drinking straw. She stood a few feet away from the elevator — the doors had began to close and no other than Chiara stood in the closing elevator. With a grin Scarlet picked up her pace. “Friend! Hold the elevator for me!” she shouted, rushing toward the elevator. Her face drained of colour as soon as she caught sight of the red head rush — practically running towards her. Chiara didn’t want to help, not in the slightest. Repeatedly she pressed the button hoping it would close just in time for her not to join in. “Such a loving friend holding the elevator for me.” Scarlet slipped in just on time before the metal door closed. “I was actually praying it closed before you go near.” Chiara whispered. She knew that, she literally saw the woman trying to close the elevator doors with her hands. Luckily for her she wore sneakers and running had become a simple exercises, considering how many times she ran away from furious partners. “Some one woke up on the wrong side of the bed or are you not getting some?” Scarlet snickered taking a sip of her strawberry flavoured milkshake. “We agreed on starting again.” that was all the woman said before folding her arms. “We are, you don’t see me downgrading you.” she stated with both eyebrows raised. With a sigh Chiara murmured a bunch of cusses, before taking her attention to Scarlet. The girl loudly sipping out the straw. “In a civil manner.” She withdrew her lips from the straw, a wide smile pasted on her face. “Oh! you mean that fancy stuff were we act like 40 year old woman in failed marriages yet filthy rich, with one child we share a love-hate relationship but we totally love each at the end of the day?” “You said you weren’t downgrading me.” the woman hissed glaring at Scarlet. Pretending to not know the obvious — as though she hadn’t done it to place that pissed off expression on her face. She gasped placing her free hand over her chest. “What! I am— wait you are 40 and do have one girl child and filthy rich!” she exclaimed with a bright smile. “And my marriage?” Chiara continued to glare at her, more than before as those words slipped out her mouth. Switching the almost finished milkshake to her right to her left hand. Scarlet brought up her right hand in the air and did an okay sign. “Okay!” she winked earning a slight chuckle from the woman. As much as she enjoyed every moment she got to annoy the woman, she definitely wasn’t going to do that by shoving her marriage in her face. Plus she didn’t know much and it wasn’t her place to get involved. Still chuckling Chiara shook her head. “You know I still have nightmares.” she spoke gaining Scarlet’s attention. “Of what?” she asked fully attentive. “You pushing me off a plane!” Immediately Scarlet began laughing and pulled out her phone from her front pocket. “You almost passed out! I still have the photo of you after we landed!” unlocking the phone she opened the photo. Chiara’s face was pale as the woman had seen a ghost and fixed in place she hadn’t even bothered to unstrap herself from Scarlet. Scarlet being who she was, rested her chin on the woman’s shoulder and took a picture while Chiara was in shock, she had made a silly face. “Look at that, am I the best gift giver or what?” she proudly spoke slipping the phone back into her pocket. She had shown her the picture before and Chiara did try to delete it, but she had already backed it up to cloud and the girl had the audacity to send it to the woman. She had no idea where she had gotten her number but the picture was in phone. She could have easily deleted it but like a witch Scarlet resent it — how she knew when to send it was a question to Chiara. “I nearly had a heart attack!” “You should thank me, now your heart is an strong as an oxen — your not dying at 40!” “So this is you?” she spoke a tone a bit lower. “This is me, irritating huh?” questioned Scarlet, her upper lip twitched a bit. “You still don’t like me, do you?” she smirked staring over at Scarlet. “Nope!” she popped the p as loud as she could. “You don’t either but at least we are not biting off eachother’s heads.” “True. So the scandal?” Scarlet shrugged, “It’s a meh situation, but don’t worry I’ll let your husband keep his ego and not disclose that I’m actually the best one in bed.” Her head hanged low as she covered up her face with her palms. “You really want to get on my nerves?” she mumbled. “You did not disagree!” Scarlet rejoiced out loud. Shaking her head she mumbled once more. “Gosh, this elevator is so slow!” “Alright alright, I’ll stop.” going back to drinking her milkshake she nodded her head, letting the conversation die down. It did not for someone though. Chiara threw her hand over her shoulder, she did not plan on leaving this elevator without wining at her game. “What if you are not the best that I could possibly have plus you would have to keep up.” Scarlet choked at the words tickling her earlobe. Chiara smirked, rubbing her back to help she stared at the opening elevator doors. “Did I bruise your ego little ego?” she pouted, Scarlet still couldn’t reply she was busy trying to breath. Stepping away from her she stood in front of her. With her right hand she cupped Scarlet’s chin forcing her to look into her eyes, even if she was still whizzing for air. “Don’t forget to use protection kid — it is a dangerous game you play.” winking at the girl she walked out leaving a very shocked girl.
