She really never understood how the weekend flew by so quickly, it was unjust how Monday was so far from Friday yet Friday could have never been closer.
Five days of working to the bone, not like she did but still the numbers were not equivalent. Five against two was unbalanced, there should have been ten days in a week, five to work and five to rest.
Oh well, that was that and nothing could have been changed.
She walked out the elevator with a bright smile aimed at the curious personal assistant on her desk.
She had no intentions of answering questions so the girl walked past the curious brunette. That wasn’t really successful as the woman run in front of her and shielded her path.
“May I help you?”
Narrowing her eyes she glanced at the woman’s tag then back to her.
“No you may not, Linda.”
Was all she said before trying to walk around the body, it failed again as Linda’s arm blocked her.
“You can not go in there unannounced!” she wasn’t risking getting her job taken because of this minor mistake in front of her.
“You clearly don’t read the news.” huffed Scarlet crossing her arms.
“Mrs, she is very busy could you please wait at least.”
That title alone ‘Mrs’ was enough to earn the woman a hard slap. It didn’t but rather a grammatic gasp from Scarlet.
“Do I look like I’m married?” she questioned waving both her hands in the woman’s face. If she saw no wedding band maybe it would clear up the confusion.
“My mistake, it won’t happen again miss.”
“It better not because I’m sure my sugar mommy won’t be pleased, she might fire you on the spot.”
Linda’s mouth hang out at the revelation—fake—still she didn’t know it was a lie with Scarlet’s serious face, she had no option but to think it true.
Speechless.
“Did I not mention I’m her sugar baby?” patting her shoulder Scarlet sipped past Linda and ran straight for the door.
In all her years maybe listening to a stranger was not half bad, she should have, because she would never have walked in on mind burning imagine.
Chiara on top of her desk being f****d to oblivion was not on her see before I die bucket list.
“My poor virgin eyes!” covering her eyes she let the door go letting it swing wide open.
“What the f**k!” hissed the man in between her legs.
In a matter of seconds Chiara had herself on her feet, her shirt fixed and glaring at Scarlet.
Not everything was fixed. Definitely not the smeared makeup or the wild hair, none of that matter at all but getting Scarlet out.
“Get out and I’m pretty sure nothing about you is virgin!”
Surprisingly Scarlet complied closing the door immediately. Facing the personal assistant who seemed a bit more shocked then upset she forced a smile.
Awkward, very awkward.
“Do you have acid. Anything?”
§
A few minutes after the unannounced visit, Scarlet was pulled back into the office.
Literally.
Chiara pulled her back in because the all sweet ‘virgin’ refused entering the room, being touched by her or seating.
And it had been ten minutes of her disgustingly glancing at the couple back and forth, still standing by the door.
“Can you wipe that look off your face and sit?” Chiara sighed running her fingers through her hair.
“No. I’m not getting anywhere near that.” she hissed pointing at the other side of the office, very far from her.
“What are you doing here then?” carrying conversation Mrs. Brown asked with a glare at Scarlet.
“Obviously didn’t come to see poor plotted porn.”
“Scarlet!”
“Introductions!” she cheered ignoring Chiara Brown’s glare. Her gaze fell on the bold man with the expectation trimmed beard, she forced a smile. “As she has already stated I’m Scarlet, not a pleasure to meet you I must say and I would shake your hand but disgusting shit.”
“Why do you associate with this child?” was all the man said staring down at his wife.
Chiara sighed, “I have to because she is the CEO darling.”
“Of what, childhood?”
On the other side of the room Scarlet forced herself to laugh. “You really think that’s funny old bold man?”
“Shut it!” hissed Chiara at her then her attention fell on Mr Brown. “Lexical, she is the CEO.”
“What an excuse of one. Really what does that old man see in this piece of work?”
“Potential, something you luck everywhere!” Scarlet bit back pointing at him.
If his wife didn’t forcefully pulled him back the punch would have definitely landed on Scarlet.
“Darling please don’t.” a sweet short peck on his lips she cupped his face. “She’s not worth it okay?”
Nodding he stole a quick kiss. “I’ll see you at home?”
“Of course love!”
A few seconds after, he walked out and Scarlet’s disgusted face faded.
“I thought grandpa would never leave!”
“Shut up, for real!”
Slightly chuckling Scarlet wiggled her eyebrows. “Gosh sorry I’m guessing you never c*m, sour puss.”
That was the last straw.
In Chiara’s defense she had tried so hard not to strangle the girl for many reasons, right now though she definitely wasn’t holding back.
Slipping her foot out of her pink heel she threw it at Scarlet—it surely missed as Scarlet ducked.
“How do you think I could have when you walked in!” she slipped her other heel off glaring at Scarlet.
Who happened to be laughing annoyingly. “You know you could have not stopped on my account.”
“Get out right now!” she shouted tossing her other heel at her. This time it didn’t miss, hitting Scarlet’s thigh she hissed in pain.
“Hey wait a minute I can to talk to you about business!” the girl whined as Chiara shoved her out her office.
“I’ll talk to anyone but you.”
With a pout she whined. “But I’m here!”
“And you’re leaving!”
Despite being dragged across the floor to the elevator she still found humour in everything.
“I might have spent a bit too much of my sugar mommy’s savings.” she explained staring at Linda and one guy she didn’t know standing by Linda’s desk.
“I am not your sugar mommy!” pushing her into the elevator she hissed with a glare.
“You wish you were.” Scarlet urged crossing her arms.
Mimicking her actions Chiara shook her head. “I do not.”
“Do too.”
The argument didn’t carry on beyond the staring contest as the elevator doors closed shut—and was Chiara relived.
