Bliss. Absolute bliss as she lay fast asleep in my arms. Life couldn’t be more perfect.
I wanted more—so much more—but Olive was completely out. She had given me all she had, and I wasn’t going to push her beyond that. Hearing her moan my name the way she did was seared into my memory. I’d only gone in halfway, but even that had her trembling. She’d be sore in the morning, no doubt.
A sharp knock on the door shattered the silence.
“Alpha… are you awake? You need to come out here. Code RED!”
My blood froze. I leapt out of bed, startling Olive awake. Her big sleepy eyes locked on mine.
“Liv, no matter what happens, stay in here. There will be a guard at the door.”
