Season 1: Survival
Chapter 7: "The Interrogation"
Kampala, Uganda. 2005.
Mr. Okello's eyes seemed to bore into Kofi's soul as he beckoned him to come closer. Kofi hesitated, but Mr. Okello's menacing tone left him no choice.
"Come here, boy," Mr. Okello sneered. "I want to ask you some questions."
Kofi slowly got up from his seat, his heart pounding in his chest. Akua tried to grab his hand, but Mr. Okello pushed her away.
"No, no, no," Mr. Okello said, his voice dripping with malice. "This is between me and the boy."
Kofi felt a surge of fear as Mr. Okello led him to a back room in the shop. The room was dimly lit, and the air was thick with the smell of smoke.
Mr. Okello pushed Kofi into a chair, his eyes glinting with cruelty.
"So, boy," Mr. Okello sneered. "Tell me, what do you know about your sister?"
Kofi's heart skipped a beat as he realized that Mr. Okello must be looking for Ama. But why?
"I don't know what you're talking about," Kofi lied, trying to keep his voice steady.
Mr. Okello's face twisted with rage. "Don't lie to me, boy!" he shouted. "I know you're looking for your sister. And I know you'll do anything to find her."
Kofi felt a surge of fear as Mr. Okello's eyes seemed to bore into his soul. He knew that he had to protect Ama, no matter what.
But before Kofi could respond, he heard a loud noise coming from outside the room. It sounded like Akua was fighting with someone.
Kofi's heart skipped a beat as he realized that Akua was in danger. He had to get to her, no matter what.
With a surge of adrenaline, Kofi leapt out of his chair and made a run for the door. But Mr. Okello was too quick. He grabbed Kofi's arm and spun him around.
"You're not going anywhere, boy," Mr. Okello sneered. "You're going to tell me what I want to know. And then...and then you're going to do exactly what I say."
Kofi's heart sank as he realized that he was trapped. But he refused to give up. He knew that he had to protect Ama, no matter what.
And then, just as Mr. Okello was about to continue his interrogation, the door to the room burst open. Akua stood in the doorway, her eyes blazing with fury.
"Let him go!" she shouted, her voice echoing through the room.
Kofi's heart skipped a beat as he saw Akua standing in the doorway. She was fierce and determined, and Kofi knew that she would do anything to protect him.
But as Kofi looked at Mr. Okello, he saw something that made his blood run cold. Mr. Okello was smiling, a cruel and sinister smile that seemed to say, "I've got you right where I want you."
And then, just as Kofi was about to find out what Mr. Okello had planned, everything went black.
