Wicked

When I arrive at school the next morning I notice that Caylan isn't there and she hasn't been to any of the circle meetings. I had intended to go by her house after school just to keep up appearances also to see if she was living by herself because when I had done a search on her mother's name it showed she had died in 2012 when Caylan was just fifteen. Granted I haven't told anyone that she was my half-sister except for mom who probably told Lilith. I decided to tell Dylan my little secret at lunch I had it all planned out and then I chickened out when all of our friends decided to sit with us. So I quietly sent him a mental message telling him to meet me beside the north side of the school. When school let out I made my way over to the north side of the school building where nobody goes a few minutes later Dylan shows up with a smile on his face. "Is this one of your fantasies to make out here or something," He teases."Funny no," I answer. "I was trying to tell you something important at lunch but everybody joined us so I figured this was a quiet spot to talk." "Oh my god, you're pregnant," He choked. I had to laugh at him while he took a minute to freak out then I calmly told him. "Goofy I'm not pregnant if you'll calm down I'll tell you," He finally calms down after some deep breathing. "I found out that I'm Caylan's half-sister," I announce. "You're joking, you're just trying to get me back for me not telling you about your surprise party, but I already told you I didn't know." "I'm not joking, I've been doing my ancestry tree. She is my dad's daughter," I affirm. "Wow, that's just crazy finding out that your sister is a killer," "Yea and I'm going to go over to her house on my way home," "No you don't remember she wants you dead, I can't let the love of my life go to a crazy person's house who wants her dead, sorry not happening," Dylan orders. "Come on Dylan I need to know what she knows," "No, if you want to know what she knows then tap into her thoughts," "It's not that easy, I can't control it," "That's why you practice, come on I'll follow you home and help," I know why he wants to follow me home and it isn't to help me practice, it's to make sure I don't go to Caylan's house. That's fine I'll just go another day. We pull into my driveway when I'm frozen in my car. I hear Caylan planning her attack on Cassie tonight. Dylan comes over and helps me out of my car with a worried look on my face "You heard something what is it," He asks with concern in his voice. "Where's my phone I got to call Cassie," I say as I dig through my purse. Dylan calmly looks in my car and grabs my phone from the cup holder and dials Cassie's number for me. "Hey, Cas, Kiera wants to tell you something, hang on," He tells her then hands the phone over to me. "Cassie you and your parents need to leave your house Caylan is planning on attacking you tonight," I burst. "I don't know how yet but I plan on finding out before it's too late," I hang up without even letting her say anything. I hurriedly open my front door then turn and look at Dylan. "Ok please help me tap into her thoughts," "Ok let's sit down, you need to relax and take deep breaths."  I sit down and let my things fall to the floor and lean back on the couch to relax. "Ok now, all you need to do is close your eyes and focus on Caylan," Dylan says. I close my eyes and just repeat her name over and over in my head. I stop when I hear her words as if she is talking to me. "The Creswell's have all those trees circling their house. It would be nice to lighten them up some and if a spark hits their house and burns it down it'll be a perk," I jump up with a start "It worked, I heard every word that she was thinking," I tell Dylan as he hands me some water."What did you hear," "She plans on setting the trees on fire that surround Cassie's house, she said if a spark hits the house it'll be a perk," "Ok just calm down I'll call her and let her know while you call your mom and fill her in," So while I'm calling my mom Dylan lets Cassie know how Caylan plans on attacking them, when we get off the phone I tell Dylan that mom is going to keep an eye on their place also she is going to call Cassie's parents and let them know. "That's good Cassie started freaking out she is on her way over here until it's over," Dylan warns me."Great, that means I get to hear her whining over Blaine being gone to college again," I sigh. "Well, I can relax you until she gets here you know how long it takes her to pack a bag," He hints. I just roll my eyes and grab his hand as he leads me to my bedroom where he picks me up and kisses me as he lays me down on the bed. A little while later we hear Cassie coming up the driveway. We jump up and throw our clothes back on Dylan heads downstairs pretending to be watching tv while I head to the bathroom to freshen up. Cassie comes barging into the house without even bothering to knock first "Hey Cassie have you ever heard of a doorbell," Dylan pops off at her rude entry into the house. "Yes Dylan I have but Kiera and Shannon don't mind me just coming in," Cassie says. "Well, that's not technically true." My mom says as she walks up behind her Cassie practically jumps out of her shoes as she notices her standing behind her. "It's polite to knock on someone's door when you come over whether they say you have to or not." Mom then looks over to Dylan who's trying to hold his laughter. "Where's my daughter at," "She is in the bathroom," He answers. "Hey mom, you're home early," I say as I head downstairs. "Cassie you can put your things in the guest room, it's all ready for you." "I'm not off work just thought I would come by and check on everything here." Mom replies. "Ok well, I was going to start making supper anything special you want?" "Nothing I can think of, surprise me." She smiles then kisses my cheek as she heads back to work."So what is for dinner I'm starving," Dylan pops off? I smack him in the arm."You know where the kitchen is, go find you something," He gets up as Cassie comes out of the guest room. "Thanks for letting me stay here Kiera," "Anytime, I feel better knowing you're safe, are your parents going to be joining us," I ask. "No, they want to stay there and try to stop her goddess. I hope she doesn't hurt them or worse," Cassie bursts into tears. I reach over to comfort her. "They will be ok, my mom is going to be guarding the house, also remember you have a friend who can read Caylan's thoughts so I'll know when she is going to attack then all I gotta do is send me a message so she can head over there," I say soothingly."That's right we got the Protector on our side," Dylan pops off as he comes back into the living room with a mouthful of chicken. Cassie looked from Dylan then over to me. "You guys are the best, how did I get so lucky to have friends like you," She says crying again. Dylan sits on one side of her while I'm on the other so we decide to make a Cassie sandwich to try and cheer her up a little bit. After we finish up our homework Dylan and Cassie help me with the training mom has set up for me to do every day we head out back to where mom has set up some obstacles for me to do first I have to mentally say my power chant after that I shoot the cans off the fence then I make a mini-tornado by shooting my witch fire in a circle around a stump to lift it off the ground so I can move into the other side of the yard, all while I tap into someone's thoughts.  I'm so drained by the time I'm done Dylan and Cassie decide to make dinner that night for us. Dylan had even invited his mom over to have dinner with us mainly so she would know where he would be at. While I'm laying on the couch recouping from the power drain I hear Caylan planning to attack Cassie's house. I shot mom a fast message to head over there praying she makes it over there in time. I decide not to tell Cassie just yet so she will stay calm and not worry or try to run over there. Later on, that evening mom sent me a text saying. "She hadn't caught Caylan starting the fire but got the fire department there in time to put the fire out so they could have a report of it but she also managed to turn the trees back to the way they were before they were burnt and the house didn't receive any damage," I sent back a text message. "That's great news mom Cassie will be so happy to hear it," Lilith who was sitting in a chair beside the couch looked over at me. "So it looks like it was good news," "Yes and no," I answer. "They stopped the fire before it got to the house but weren't able to catch Caylan," "Don't worry yourself Kiera we will catch her and she will be punished for all her crimes," Lilith assures me. I get up and go into the kitchen to give Cassie the good news. "Cassie your parents are ok and your house is still standing. But they weren't able to catch Caylan just yet," I tell her cheerfully. "That's great news thanks Kiera, I'll go ahead and eat dinner at home," She hugs me then heads into the guest room to grab her things. Dylan leans up against the sink with a cheesy grin on his face. "Thank you for coming in when you did if I had to hear another thing about Blaine I think I would have snapped," I just laugh at him and help him finish cooking, a little while later mom comes home from work. "There's a plate in the microwave for you mom, Dylan had decided to cook tonight, Lilith said for you to call her when you get a chance," I tell her. "Thanks and next time you talk to Dylan tell him I say thanks also for cooking," As she heats up her food. "Sure mom, hey are you ok,"  "Yea I'm fine just upset that we didn't catch Caylan in the act she's just floating around town thinking she can do whatever she wants and I want it to stop," "Mom we will get her I promise," I say sternly. She comes over and hugs me. "I know we will because I have a very special daughter," She smiles and sits down at the table to eat her dinner. I decide to head upstairs to take a shower and get ready for bed before I do. I sent Dylan a text. "Mom said thanks for cooking tonight," A minute later I get one from him. "Tell her anytime,"  As I'm drifting off to sleep Caylan's voice creeps into my head. "How on earth did they know about the fire! Creswell's aren't even powerful enough to restore their trees that had to be Shannon. It's ok the night of the Blood Moon she will get hers along with her daughter. I've something big planned for those two. And the Fall Equinox Kiera's dear boyfriend and mother will be their last day on this earth," I sat up in bed crying so hard mom had heard me from her room and came to see what was wrong with me. I balled on her shoulder while recalling what I had heard. "Kiera don't cry you found out some great information for us," "Really what information," I sniffle. "You found out when she's planning to attack us." Mom exclaims after letting me out of her bear hug "Mabon is only two days away and the Blood Moon is a couple of days after that so we have enough time to get things ready but let's discuss it in the morning we both need some rest," Mom heads back to her room and I snuggle back into my blankets after a few minutes I finally fall asleep. When the sun finally comes up the next morning I drag myself out of bed and into the shower hoping it would wake me up. Mom was sitting at the kitchen table drinking a cup of coffee. "Morning dear," She says looking up from the newspaper. "Morning," I mumble back as I get myself some coffee then sit down at the table with her."So what do you have planned today," "I figured that we would head over to Lilith's house to discuss setting up a trap for Caylan, I already called her to tell Dylan to stay home also to let her know we were coming over," "I'm sorry you're making Dylan and I stay home from school today," "Yes until we can stop Caylan but don't worry I have your teachers sending your lessons over so you two don't get behind," "Oh goodie," I say sarcastically. Mom laughs then gets up from the table to get another cup of coffee. "So mom how many cups of coffee have you had this morning," "Let's just say this was the second pot that I had made since I've been up," "Did you get any sleep last night," "I did a little, I've only been up since six,"  After we finish the last of the coffee in the house mom and I finish getting dressed then head on over to Lilith's house but we decided to stop at the local coffee shop in town which is surprisingly better than Starbucks. Mom finishes off her cup as we pull into the driveway of Lilith's immaculate home. I shot Dylan a message letting him know we pulled up and when he opened the door he let me know it. "I've asked you not to do that it freaks me out," "You sent him a message? Kiera, I've told you only do that when it's an emergency," Mom orders. "I'm sorry," I snicker. "Come inside mom's in the study," Dylan says as he invites us in." "Hey, later I'll show you a little trick I've been practicing," I whisper to Dylan. As we walk into the study Lilith stands up from her chair and welcomes us in. "Please have a seat. Now Shannon, what's this all about you that was very vague on the phone," "Yes I know I was it was just better to explain the whole thing in person, and then keeping the kids out of school was for their own safety," Mom explains. "Kiera tapped into Caylan's thoughts as she went to bed last night and heard her planning your attack for tomorrow and our's on the Blood Moon, she not trying to scare us she wants us dead so we can't protect the rest of the coven," "Oh so Dylan and I are first that means she thinks we aren't as strong as you or she is saving family for last," Lilith says looking at me. "She isn't family, my dad didn't know anything about her," I reply hotly. Lilith smiles."You've learned to control your new powers perfectly. I'm very impressed with Kiera," "Thank You, I replied. "With tomorrow being Mabon and our circle meeting at the house you two wouldn't be here anyway. Caylan doesn't know that we started having the circles at our house," "True," Lilith says. "But I'm not always in your circles, granted Dylan is, but I see where you're going with this, Dylan will be safe and I could set a trap for her and catch her," "I'm not letting you stay here and face her by yourself mom," Dylan explodes. "Calm down Dylan she won't be Kiera doesn't need me to help with her circles, I'll be here with your mom, Caylan won't expect it."My mom said assertively. "So have you two had breakfast yet," Lilith asks us as she stands up."No, we haven't unless you count two pots of coffee," I giggle looking at mom who scrunches her face at me."Great, I'm making eggs benedict," Lilith says clapping her hands together. Mom follows her to the kitchen to continue their talk while Dylan and I head to the living room. "So what was it you wanted to show me," He asks sweetly. "Not that," I say as I punch him lightly in the arm. "Sit down here and close your eyes," I sit down in a chair close by where he is sitting and close my eyes while concentrating on our lovemaking. After I send it to him mentally I open my eyes to see his eyes open up and a big smile appears on his face. "That's the best p**n flick I've ever watched, but how did you do that," "As I said I've been practicing with mom actually we figured if I could send messages I might be able to send images." "That's just awesome Kiera," Dylan reaches over and pulls me toward him then kisses me passionately. He takes my hand and leads me into the kitchen where our moms are finishing up with breakfast. I also noticed my mom had decided she had enough coffee and switched to drinking orange juice. "So Kiera did you show Dylan here what you've been practicing," Mom offered. "Yea I just got done showing him," I answer cheerfully. "It was amazing that it's got to take a lot of power to be able to be able to project something like that," Dylan declared. "Mom you really need to let her show you it's awesome," The rest of the day was nice and peaceful. We ate, laughed, I even ended up showing that I could project pictures to people, even though we knew if our plan didn't succeed tomorrow we would not see each other again. Our circle that night went off without a hitch I did accidentally cause the whole entire coven to levitate because I wasn't concentrating on holding my powers back so everyone was just a little freaked out until Lilith revealed to them who I was at least who they think I am I've yet to have powers of healing. Granted nobody has actually been hurt while I'm around which is a good thing since I can't stand the sight of blood, or really anything gross for that matter. When the circle along with the mingling is over mom and I head home worried that we don't really know when Caylan is supposed to attack we just assume it will be at night like all the other times I pray to the goddess that we are right.  Before I go to bed that night I decide to write a little bit in my Book of Shadows hoping that it will relax me to put my thoughts and fears into words. It's September 21, 2016, the day before Mabon and the day my beloved is supposed to be killed by my half-sister Caylan who is also a Witch Hunter. I'm so frightened that my mom and Lilith will be killed tomorrow by her even though Dylan will be safe with me. I pray the goddess will give me the strength to be able to handle whatever comes. Everyone still thinks that I'm this great Protector of Witches. I'm still not convinced I might be powerful but I still feel like a frightened little kid in a storm. Also, mom keeps saying that the Protector is supposed to have healing powers I have yet to have any type of healing power.                                                                               Blessed Be,                                                                                 Mohani As I'm putting my book back under my bed I hear Elisi's voice as she manifests at the corner of my bed. "You have nothing to worry about tomorrow you should know by now I wouldn't let anything happen to you or your mother no matter how strong you think you are," "I know Elisi. It's just that I've heard Caylan's thoughts and this girl is capable of doing some awful things. I'm really worried what mom and Lilith are getting into," "Will it help you feel better if I go with your mom in the morning to help," "It would but it would also help me sleep better if you were watching over them right now," "I can't leave the house without attaching myself to someone you know," "So I'll take you over there. It's not like I've never snuck out of the house before," "I don't think that's a good idea, Kiera, your mother would kill you and try to kill me," "Come on Elisi please," I beg. "Lilith and Dylan are practically family. I can't let them get hurt," "Your mom is going to find a way to t*****e me for this, but ok,"  Elisi dissipated into a mist that flew into my purse, I then climbed out my bedroom window and shimmied myself down the drain pipe. When I made it to my car I shifted it into neutral and let it roll back into the street. After that I had to push it a little way then jumped in and started it up then flicked my headlights on. It only took a few minutes before we made it to Dylan's house. I parked behind one of the big hedges Lilith had grown out front then stepped out of the car and whispered a silent. "Thank you" as Elisi left my purse. Knowing that Dylan and Lilith would be safe until mom got there tomorrow I finally felt tired as I drove back to the house where I dreaded climbing up the drain pipe.
