Danger

Mom let Blaine and I stay home the rest of the week, she even stayed home for a couple of days after everything that had happened. Cassie didn't even call me for two days when she did she had said that she had a talk with her mom and she confirmed that she was indeed a blood witch after she told me everything they talked about she thanked me for helping her. Mom has been teaching me a lot of protection spells along with banishing spells so I am able to protect myself if I or one of my friends get attacked again. In a couple of days, she is going to teach me a couple of hexes she uses for emergencies, I can't wait. Dylan has gotten a lot more protective of me, every time he shows up he does a perimeter check of our property, he is having his mom teach him some spells, he also made his own book of shadows, Blaine and Cassie have started dating, as Dylan predicted we do have more time by ourselves now, I'm just glad my best friend is happy and I have pretty much adopted Blaine as my brother any way we fight like brother and sister. We don't know where Aidan went the other day nobody could find him. I'm just glad he hasn't been around, but it doesn't matter I'm still on edge every little bump I jump because I know it's just a matter of time before he shows up again. I've even resorted to carrying Grams athame with me everywhere I even put it under my pillow at night just so I can feel a little safer the bad thing is I can't take it with me to school tomorrow, I can't believe mom is making us go since that nut job is still out to get us, doesn't she know I'm not strong enough to take him on yet? I wish grams was still alive to help teach me how to protect myself and the ones I love but she isn't so I guess the best I can do is study some of her spells she wrote in her BOS. Some of the spells that I have gone over are rather easy ones and quite powerful but the harder ones are her most powerful spells that I want to learn. 

Mom knocks on my door. "Hunny you ready for school tomorrow," as she opens the door. "Yes, mom," I tell her as she walks over to me as she sits down she sees my Book of Shadows that I had made. "You did a good job on this," She says. "Thanks, mom, I've already started writing the spells you taught me here too, also everything that's been happening lately." 

"That's what it's for, sleep well." She says as she gets up and walks out the door. As I am drifting off to sleep I'm jolted awake by the alarm going off in my ears again. I jump out of bed and run over to my window all I see at first is just the darkness of the trees but as I look closer I see a figure of a man step out of the darkness, I jump back from the window Aidan is back! I run downstairs as mom is fixing to open the door. "Mom No," I yell at her "It's too dangerous for you to go out there alone," I exclaim. "Kiera calm down I'll be fine just stay inside and keep Blaine safe I'll be right back I promise," She orders. With that mom opens the door and as soon as she steps onto the front porch the alarm stops as suddenly as it had started. I hear her outside putting another dose of protection spells on the house when she is done she comes back inside and sees me sitting on the stairs waiting on her. " I guess he is gone for now so you can head up to bed so you can get some rest, you got school tomorrow," She insists. "You sure he is gone for the night," I ask. "I can't be sure about that Kiera you know that, just try and get some sleep ok," Mom walks over to me and gives me a hug as she does I feel her hand on the back of my head. The next thing I know I'm in my bed with my alarm clock beeping at me, then I get my senses about me, mom actually put a spell on me how could she do that? I race downstairs to the kitchen where she is getting herself some coffee. "Morning Kiera, how did you sleep,"  

"You would know you put a sleep spell on me," I exclaim. 

"And you know why I did it, I know you would have been up all night worrying," 

Ugh, I hate when she is right, I just look at my mom smile and pour me some coffee and head up to get ready for school I hear Blaine coming out of his room. "Morning Blaine." I hear mom tell him, which makes me wonder if my mom spelled him to. Dylan showed up an hour before he needed to be, but Baine and I were already dressed and waiting on him to show up. "Ok, what's going on why are you here so early," I ask him. "Nothing, I just didn't want you to be in a rush to get ready when you try to wear your bunny slippers to school again," He chuckles at me. I motion to him to come to sit with me on the stairs so I can tell him what happened here last night. "Aidan showed up here last night and was standing outside my bedroom window," 

"Do what? Are you guys ok," 

"We're fine, mom went outside and he had left, she thinks he is testing the perimeter," 

Mom left for work as we were leaving for school, as we were driving down the road I thought I saw Aidan hiding in between some trees. It's probably my imagination I tell myself so I just ignore it. We pull up to the school as we get out Cassie is already making her way over to us. "Hi guys, I'm so glad you're back, this place is boring without my bestie," Cassie says. "Hey what about me," Blaine says with a fake frown on his face. “ I always miss you when I can't see you," She says then gives him a kiss. I smile as I watch them pick on each other. Cassie has been so good for Blaine since everything that has happened with him and his dad. We finish up with school and we decide to stop by Pizza Hut to grab a snack to take to the house, while we are waiting for them to make our order. We see Aidan sitting on the hood of Dylan's car waiting for us to come out of the restaurant. I grab my phone and call mom, while Dylan has his phone out to call his mom. While we waited for our moms to show up we sat down in one of the booths and I put a protection spell on my friends and myself as I did it. I know that it was working because I could feel the energy envelop me. 

It only takes them a few minutes to show up and I hear Aidan laugh. "Well I see I have underestimated you Lilith I guess I will have to add you and your son to my list. We have no room for you in this world you filthy witches," He screams. We watch our moms grab hold of each other's hands as they start chanting then they start shooting a blue flame at him but as they keep chanting the blue flame turns purple before our eyes. Aidan runs and jumps in his car and speeds off one of the purple flames hits the trunk of his car and flies off. We run outside after he leaves. I head straight for my mom and wrap my arms around her in a big hug. "Are you kids ok," Mom asks us as she holds my face in her hands. " We are ok mom I promise,” I insist. "We really are Ms. Cormac, Kiera put a protection spell on us just to be safe," Dylan chimes in. "You did," Mom says as she hugs me tighter. "What was that blue stuff you were shooting from your hands," Cassie asked what the rest of us was wondering. "That was witch fire it is usually blue but when joined with another witch's power and a power chant it turns purple, which means if it hit him it would have killed him," Mom returned to work, we got our food and paid for it, while Lilith followed us back to my house and stayed until my mom got home. Lilith gets up to leave until mom suggests that they stay the night tonight in case Aidan shows up. "I got a funny feeling he will try something tonight," I overheard mom telling Lilith while they're in the kitchen. "I think you might be right. After last night and following the kids today, he is more than likely going to show up," Lilith replies. "We better be prepared for anything," Mom says and Lilith shakes her head in agreement. 

Cassie heads home with a protection spell mom put on her. We then move the furniture in the living room so we will have enough room for Lilith to show Dylan and me how to shoot witch fire and how to combine our powers, while mom sets up Blaine in the basement so he will be safe. After we finish up with everything we sit in a circle holding hands and meditate waiting for the alarm to ring in our ears for what we hope will be the last time. We sit like this for what seems like hours considering my legs are asleep, when the alarm starts we jump up, mom yells at Blaine to head to the basement. Out the front window, we see fire. He has a fire set around one of the trees out front. "Ok sweetheart I need you to stay calm and remember everything I've taught you," Mom says to me. " I will mom, I promise that I won't let you down," I tell her. Aidan is outside yelling at the top of his lungs for us to come outside, before we do Lilith says the stop spell for the alarm so we can think clearly without the alarm going off in our ears. I go up and kiss Dylan and tell him that I love him, then I walk to the front door, grab hold of mom's hand and step onto the front porch, while Lilith and Dylan go out the back door to surround Aidan. 

"What are you doing here Aidan you do realize your trespassing," Mom asks him in her most forceful voice. "You know why I'm here witch," Aidan replies with an evil laugh. "I'm here to kill you and your offspring," He says with that same evil laugh that sends chills up my spine I guess mom noticed and squeezed my hand. I am so grateful to have her there with me because she makes me feel stronger. Then all of a sudden he starts coming up to us. Mom looks at me nods and we then hold our hands up and start shooting witch fire at him. Aidan starts backing up as Lilith and Dylan come out on opposite sides of the house then start shooting him with their witch fire, we then start to chant and at the same time circle him holding hands, then at the same exact time we release one hand and start shooting purple witch fire which then starts to spin in a tornado around Aidan. When the tornado dissipates Aidan is gone, we stand there looking at the spot for a while not speaking or moving but still holding hands. After a while mom goes over to the burning tree and says something then the fire is extinguished she then says another chant the tree starts looking like it never had been caught on fire. At that moment I realized how powerful my mom really was.
