Chapter 1
Sky's POV "Life will never be as normal as it could possibly be." Yeah right it is. I wake up early and this is what I get. Two slices of pizza from the other day. Gosh! Why can't she even toast bread or something? "Good morning lil sis." My dear sister Megan stated a bit too cheery. Oh! Good morning, my good for nothing sister. You're way too cheerful this morning. "Oh c'mon Skylar! Watch your mouth. You're way too grumpy. Aleast I heated that for you." Leaning on the fridge, she stated while chuckling then bringing the cup of coffee to her lips. Well I was hoping for a better breakfast before going to school. You know, a normal breakfast for a normal teenager who's on their way to first day of school! Especially in a new one. "Hahaha! Funny you say that while talking with me using your mind." She chuckled. "We both know you're not normal. So stop whining and eat before we go. I'll drop you off at school. And be quick! You're going to get us both late for our first day." She stated after finishing her cup of coffee and putting it on the dishwasher. I finished my two slices of leftover pizza with the glass of OJ in less than 2 minutes. Put everything on the dishwasher turned it on and let it do its job while I went back to my room to fetch my bag. Then ran back down and out of the garage door to where my dear sister is; honking at me to hurry up. That by the way hurt my ears. And that's how my day started for my first day going to a new school in this new town. I just hope this time we stay for good. Danita's POV "Bye mom. I love you." I said before stepping out of the car. "Love you too honey. Be good okay!" She shouted as I started walking towards my friends. My mom had just dropped me off at school and I was taking my time walking. Because why not?! And because once I reach my friends it just signifies that the school year really had started. Looking around, greeting people I know and checking out new students is when I saw this beautiful car drive by me then parks just in front of the school. Where my mom's car was when she dropped me off. I can't say that I'm a big fan of cars, as my dad is. But, I do know some badass babies which will surely catch my attention if it drove right past me or if I see one. And this baby is not a doubt one of them. Damn, I hate to admit it but I drool over good looking cars. And this one in particular is actually on my list. A very slick midnight black colored Chevrolet Camaro, a very nice car, is parked at the drop off. That car would be so nice to drive. Well, especially if the driver is a woman. That would be so nice it'll give the driver some umph. "Hey dani! What are you standing there for? C'mon over here. NOW! And wipe that drool off you're face!" A girl with blonde hair shouted not too far from where I'm standing. She even got the guts to laugh loud enough for everyone to hear that she's too entertained with her own joke. That ladies and gents is my best-est best friend for life, Amber. And she just couldn't stop herself for being so bossy and noisy all the time. It actually do scare me sometimes. Well, that's just because I know how she can be too loud at times. Which by the way gives us; more so, me, unwanted attention. Just like now. "Yeah, yeah! Whatever. I'm on my way." I stated a bit too loud for my liking. Wishing she heard me so she won't call out my name again for everyone to hear. "See, I'm walking." I spoke a bit louder for her to hear while doing some hand gestures. She gave me a thumbs up then continued chatting with our so called friends. "Dani, you do know that I'm your best friend, right?" She huff when I got near her and some of our friends who were standing in a circle. "And we both know that one day you'll own one or two of your dream cars." She continued putting her arm over my shoulder. "But please, hoes over bros. Well in this case, hoes over cars." She finished kinda begging for my attention and then laughing at her own sentence once again. Our other friends even joined in on the laughter as I made a face. "Hahaha. Yes of course. I know that." I stated with a pout then stick my tongue out. "But I just couldn't help it. And see! The driver's a woman." I pointed my hand towards the car just in time for us to see the passenger door open revealing the two people inside the car. Which by the way caught my attention. And everyone else's, I assume, as I look around to see almost everyone looking their way. "Well I don't care. That car will look better if you're the driver. And some day, as I've said, you'll drive one of those. Now c'mon." Amber went ahead not even giving a care to look at the car. And started to pull me towards the building entrance before I can even have a clear view of the person getting off of the car. But it's okay with me 'cause I still love my best friend to no end, thank God for giving her to me. Or else my life will be a complete nonsense. Sky's POV The car ride to school was quiet. Not in a bad way but in a good one; because I know we're both thinking of what's ahead of us. Once we hop on the car and went our way to school we both settled to the silence that engulfed us. I noticed that it has been this way for about a few weeks since we started to move away. It's just me and her now, no one else. No more mom and dad, just the two of us. So I actually can't blame her for being the way she is now. We lost them too early and she took all the responsibility; Especially of taking care of me all by herself. I love here so much, she's all I have now and I'll do anything to make her happy. Also to keep her safe. A few more minutes into the car ride we have finally reach our destination. The school is alot bigger than my previous school and is literally jam packed with all kinds of vehicles. Looking out through the car window I can see students have started piling up. There are some going out their cars while their friends arewaiting for them. Others are being dropped off by their parents, as some are going down from the school bus. The car came to a stop infront of the school's courtyard, where the drop off area is, then amber turned off the ignition. Which actually took my attention while I'm double checking my stuff. I decided to looked up and give her a questioning look before zipping my bag close. "May we talk first?" She then asked after a few moments of silence. With a look I can't explain. "Okay.. Go ahead." Is all I said urging her to tell me what she has in mind with my stare. "Well, I just want you to know your limits. And as much as possible, lay low and stay out of trouble. You know what I mean." Megan went on not bothering to beat around the bush. "Duh! Of course, I want to start fresh with my new school. Besides, no one will notice me here." Giving her a incredulous look as I say so. But then I decided to smile at her seeing her features change to something that shows her worry. "You may never know, Sky. Remember, we are on our own now and we're here to look for a new pack. The school will surely be full of adolescent wolves and so I want you, no I need you to not get in trouble." She stated looking out through the windshield. "You will be a new student and an outsider for most wolves here. Don't show them what you can do. Stay off of others business. Mom and dad were killed by hunters not too long ago. And our old pack got destroyed so we better lookout for each other and ourselves. Okay?" She gave me a knowing look. The look that says she know me too well to the deepest part of my being. "Okay, okay. Don't worry too much Meg. Dad trained me well. If worst comes to worst I can take care of both of us." I spoke my thoughts as i brushed my hair using my fingers. "Dumbass!" She spats slapping me at the back of my head. "Stop bitching around like that. I have just told you to stay out of trouble and not to look for it. So you better do so or I'll kick your ass out of the house. Understand?" Her tone is authoritative with a matching pointed look. "Whoa! Easy sissy. There's no need to be feisty. You know I do understand what you said." I gave her a cheeky smile just for her to loosen up a bit. "Good. And we're here, so you behave. Okay? No fooling around. If you need me or if anything happens text me, call me, mindlink me or whatever. I'll see you later at home." She finish then rev the car back to life. "What time will you be at home?" I asked looking out about to open the door. "I don't know. Early I guess. Unless you want to start unpacking and fix the house without me." She said with a grin. "Now why would I start the fun without you? Haha! I'll go now. Take care." I gave her a quick peck on her right cheek and hugged her tight before going out of the car completely. Then wave at her till she went and left the school premises. Danita's POV Almost near the school's entrance hall, while enjoying the cool breeze of the morning. I caught sight of this beautiful redhead who had just got out of the slick black Chevrolet Camaro that I've seen earlier. She is waving at the driver of the car as it drove away. And damn, she looks so hot with her tight black jeans (or are those leggings?), a coal grey shirt, and a jacket. Whoa! Biker boots with just the right length. God! This girl is way hotter and cooler all at the same time. I hope we could be friends or maybe more. Ahhh, yeah I'm so gay! I laugh in my head. "Earth to Dani. What are you looking at?" Amber asked sensing that she no longer have my full attention. "There, who's that girl?" I ask not removing my gaze from the redhead. Trying to have a better look of her face. "Who? The new girl? Well, she and her sister had just transferred here. They arrived the other day. I believe they haven't got the chance to look around cause they were asleep the whole day yesterday. I think." She finished giving a light tap on her head. "And tell me, how were you able to get that information?" I simply mumbled thinking how my bestfriend knew all the gossip around town. "Oh! Didn't I tell you? They're our new neighbor across the street." She stated seemingly doubtful that she had forgotten to give me this information. "huh. Right." I waved it off and started to walk back towards the doors to the school. "You know, both girls are gorgeous. Well, she's more attractive than her sister and I bet you'll have a huge crush on her." Amber gushed out behind me while trying to catch up with my phase. I just shook my head at her and continued walking faster. Not letting her see my reaction. Well then, her being my bff's new neighbor will make it easier for me to be closer to the new girl. So, that one's fixed. How to approach her will be the problem cause surely there would be a lot of people who would like to befriend her. Hell, I'll just think about that later. First subject will start soon. Better go to my locker and get to class before the bell rings. Sky's POV On my way to the entrance hall, I see this girl staring right at me. Well, I think I'm the one she's looking at, or maybe I was not the one she's looking at. So I pretended to be looking around as if I'm checking the school. Oopss! There's somebody there. Maybe that's the person she's looking at. Well, anyway, better go and report to the principal's office first before I get late for the first period. Meg enrolled me the other day and she also could have asked for my schedule to be emailed to her. But for some reason she became lazy and told me that I just can pick it up before my first period. Getting inside the building was no easy task. Laying low is also not an option as welk because all eyes fell on me once I finally got inside. Taking in a deep breath sure enough there's a large number of wolves in this school. And most of them are now currently sizing me up. As Meg's advice laying low and getting out of trouble will get me through this. So dismissing all their glares and stares I went ahead to the admissions office. Which is also where the principal's office is located. The secretary noticed me immediately when I got there knowing full well that a new transfer student will start today. Asking me to wait awhile, she gestured to the chairs available so that I may sit down if I want to. Then she went ahead and entered the door of the principal's office. Less than a minute had passed the lady opened the door and asked me to come in because the principal wanted to talk to me first before giving my class schedule. The lady then left me inside with the principal closing the door behind her. The first thing I noticed is the smell of oak. Looking for it quickly, I noticed the table that the principal use, not the finest grade but still a fairly good one. "Good morning sir." I manage to say after a few seconds of taking in the size and decoration of the room. "Miss Stark, good morning to you too. I'm Principal Montgomery." The principal greeted and introduced himself. "Have a seat. Please make yourself comfortable. I'll just be talking to you before I let you go on your first class. Okay?" He spoke taking a folder from the table and opening it. "Hmm. Okay, sure. There will be no problem as long as I won't be late for class." I stated quite unsure why he needs to talk to me first before giving my locker assignment and schedule. "Haha. Of course miss Stark. I won't allow that to happen. Also to make sure that you won't be in trouble, I'll take you there myself later. And besides, first period is homeroom so you won't miss much." He finished off with a smile. "O..okay" I managed to say my mind still wondering why the principal needs to talk to me first. "So miss Stark, as I've seen from your previous records. You're quite a straight A student. With high grades and a feedback from your former teachers, I expect to see the same from you here. Is that possible?" His features changed to a more serious one and went straight to the point. I wonder why. "Well, I'm not really sure about my grades sir. Because the school and my parents had agreements that I won't be able to see my grades. Actually when they were gone my older sister continued with it on the previous schools I have had. So up until now I do not know what were my grades. But I'll make sure to do my best sir." My answer to his question seemed to stun him for a mere second before a smile formed in his face again. "Hmm. I'd say that I didn't expected that answer to my question. But I do hope you'll live up to my expectations. Came on now. We don't want you to get late, do we?" He stood up gave me a piece of paper and opened the door. He stood there holding the knob waiting for me while I followed his actions and slung my bag on my shoulders. The paper he gave me already have the locker assignment and the class schedule that Meg had chosen for me. I was asked to follow him to homeroom as it is my first class. The halls were silent because all of the students are already on their respective classes. When we reached the room, Principal Montgomery knocked and talked to the teacher. He introduced us and left. Miss March then asked me to go inside and stand in the middle. Ofcourse, all eyes immediately turned to me once I step inside the room. Miss March asked me to introduce myselfbto everyone and then instructed me to go sit on the vacant seat near the back, surprisingly, the only available seat is in front of that girl who I thought was looking at me earlier. As I walk towards the seat, I can feel eye's looking at me from every direction possible. Some girls gossiping to their seatmates while staring at me, some other boys check me out from head to toe and would smile to the nearest guy friend they have as if informing their friend of their approval. And some I can even sense are dominant werewolves sizing me up. Ignoring them is my best solution to taking into consideration what Megan had asked of me before we parted ways. When I reached the vacant seat, I laid my bag on top of my desk and sat down. I took out my notebook and pen right after silencing my cell phone. The whole class seemed to have their eyes glued to me as if I'm something they need to watch closely. Again I ignored them and dropped my bag on the floor. As I was waiting for Miss March to finish whatever she's writing on the board, a hand taped my back. I knew who it was but what I don't understand is this strange feeling I got when she touched me. When I turned to see what the girl wants, two green globes sparkled before me. Damn, this girl has such beautiful eyes. They remind me of the forest and all the greens. "Hi. My name is Danita, my friends call me Dani. I saw you earlier today, outside the entrance hall. I think you're cool and hot with the way you dress. I hope we can be friends." The girl went on with what she wanted to say then earning a nudge from the girl beside her. Which means they are friends. But funny thing is, she just glared at the other girl then faced me with a smile. "Oh. Thanks for the compliment?" The sentence finished of as a question rather than an actual statement. "I'm Skylar by the way. Everybody else call me sky." I decided to introduce myself aswell. "Sky, huh. Nice name. It complements the color of your eyes." She mumbled with a look that I can't seem to figure out. "T-thanks, I guess. That'll be a record. Two compliments in a day." The last statement made her blush furiously so that made her back up alittle. Then Miss March started to talk which was my que that the conversation between us is over. Danita's POV I was fixing my things on my table while talking with the annoying blonde beside me when a knock at the door took our attention. Everyone went quiet when Principal Montgomery came in and spoke with Miss March. After a while Principal Montgomery pointed towards the door where I can see a silhouette of someone just beyond it. Squinting my eyes I want to see who was it that they're talking about, that is until the redhead hottie that I saw earlier started to emerge from the other side of the door. And it looks like she will be on my class. Which will give me something to look forward to every morning. As soon as her foot step inside the room all heads turned to her direction. While she is being introduced to Miss March, I can see and hear people talking about her in whispers. When the Principal left Miss March asked her to introduce herself. At first she blew out an exasperated sigh then started to speak with a poker face. Though her facial expression shows no sign of emotions her voice had caught everyone's attention. Her melodic voice flowed throughout the room which hypnotized everyone to silence. She have this accent that really stands out which make her voice more alluring. Once done, she is sent to sit on the vacant seat in front of me. Which I won't hide; I can't help but smile to myself. So I pretended to be reading something funny on my phone. Of course she didn't even notice me, but I still pretended to not look at her even if I was trying my best to get a peak. Then again the whispering started and some aren't too low key if I may say. Some girls even said something like "I think she's a w***e" while some boy's said "she's a 9 no, a 10". Well I would like to smack their faces left and right upon hearing them speak such stuffs about her. But wondered why am I affected. However when she got closer the irritation vanished together with the smell of her perfume that flowed through my nostrils when she she got closer and sat down on the seat. Luckily she's in front of me, which gives me all the access to her sweet smell. I can't help myself. I don't know what's happening to me but I can't stop the urge to talk to her. I anticipated, waited for the right time to talk to her. She had prepared her notebook and pen on her table and settled her bag on the floor when I reached out and tapped her shoulder. "Hi. My name is Danita, my friends call me Dani. I saw you earlier today, outside the entrance hall. I think you're cool and hot with the way you dress. I hope we can be friends." I started to blurt out like vomit when I saw those beautiful silvery orbs. They're blue actually but somehow they seem to turn silver under the sunlight. "Oh. Thanks for the compliment?" She finished off with a question seemingly unsure if it's the right answer. "I'm Skylar by the way. Everybody else call me sky." She introduced herself personally to me this time. I can't believe that I actually talked, no, that I flirted with her. No, no, no, wait.. Did I just really flirted with this girl? And her name is Skylar, Sky same as the color of her eyes. Such beautiful eyes that got me oh so mesmerized. "Sky, huh. Nice name. It complements the color of your eyes." I mumbled, sure enough that I have just spoken my thoughts out loud. Which actually is very embarrassing. "T-thanks, I guess. That'll be a record. Two compliments in a day." Those words. Those words made me so embarrassed to the point that I'm sure made me so red. I didn't thought that this can't be more embarrassing enough. Then Miss March started to talk up front, that seem to be a que for Sky to turn her attention back in front. Which I'm grateful for because she have just saved me from more embarrassment.
