That was the best news Xavier heard. It was clear in his face that he was over the moon. At that moment Penelope entered the room. She looked worried. She did not know what to say to her son now that his father has done such a thing. “Xavier don’t worry. I will talk to your father you will not marry that girl, not when I am still alive. Don’t be sad darling.” Penelope said while caressing Xavier’s head. “When is the wedding?” Xavier asked pretending to be sad. Ellen caught on on the trick Xavier was playing and decided to play along. “Do not worry about that sweetie, okay? Let me handle everything, okay. You need to rest so that when you escape you will not be weak, okay.” Penelope said. “What do you mean escape mother? Tell me, what is going on?” Xavier asked. For all this time they talked about this matter, escaping was never a park of the talk. Are things really that bad? Penelope did not know where to start. Should she just tell him what his father has decided? Maybe she should. If she did it would be easier to come with a solution. “Your father,” there was no doubt that she was nervous as she spoke. “Your father, he wants you to get married, umm, he wants you to get married tomorrow and…” “WHAT!!” Both Ellen and Xavier shouted in unison. “But how is everything going to go according to plan if this is in such a rush?” Ellen asked Xavier. “Plan? What plan are you talking about?” Penelope asked confused. Where these two really planning something? She thought to herself. “Well, Ellen agreed to sit at the wedding instead of me.” Xavier said smiling like a young boy to his mother. “And you did not tell me! How could you not tell me? Do you even know how you will execute your plan?” “It is not complicated mom. I will just change clothes with him and I will try to escape during the wedding.” Xavier explained like the plan was easy as A, B, C. the way he thought of it was too easy. “OHH. So you will just do that huh? What about the obstacles you will face? Your plan is not full proof. You two are just fools. Let me tell you how this will happen.” With that said, Penelope told then the new plan. It was brilliant and the chances of being caught were less. Xavier could not sleep that night. He was excited and only hoped that the tomorrow would go as planned. “Are you planning to sleep or not Xavier? You will need the strength tomorrow you know. Now go to sleep.” Ellen said as he rested his head on the soft pillow. Them sleeping together in Xavier’s room was part of the plan. By that the rest of the plan will be easier. Hence Xavier closed his eyes and drifted to dreamland in no time. Morning came fast. Xavier was woken up by the light that shone through his window. He smiled as he stretched himself. The atmosphere was good, it was a really good day. He looked to his side to see a peacefully sleeping Ellen. What king of guard is he to sleep in like this? The sun was shining bright on his face but that did not faze him. He still slept like a baby. “Wake up Ellen.” Xavier shook him trying to wake him up. “Just let me be for a few minutes. It is not every time that I get to sleep not in and not only that, but I also get to sleep in a comfy bed like a prince I was born to be. But look at me now, all the way down.” Ellen said as he woke up. It was true that he thought he was a prince when he was young but working as a guard for the Quinn’s especially as one for Xavier is the greatest thing that has happened to him. Not only did he find a stable job but he also found a family and friends at the Quinn’s. After his parents died he was scared that he was going to be an outcast but that never happened. He was in fact glad that he got to do this for Xavier, at least he could show his gratitude to his young master. “Shut up Ellen and stop whining like a baby we got work to do.” As Xavier said, Penelope walked in with May, one of the maids that she was close to, holding trays of food for both Xavier and Ellen. “Rise and shine boys. I cannot believe that you just woke up. Don’t you know today is your wedding day.” Penelope said as she and May placed the food on the side table. “May will be helping us with the plan. She will be the one giving the clothes and stuff. If you need anything ask me or her. I don’t want those other maids snitching on us but you can trust May.”
After having food Ellen and Xavier took baths and wore their outfits for the day. According to the plan Xavier and Ellen had to be seen by Alfred so that he will not ask Xavier to show him his face at the time for the wedding also so that Ellen is not asked why he wore a gothic sallet. As planned they both went to the room of the Mr and Mrs as a ‘response to Penelope asking for them’. “Mother, you asked to see me?” Xavier said in a saddest voice a person can imagine. For a second, even Penelope thought that he was actually sad. He was a good actor indeed. It was good though because they had to convince Alfred about themselves. That was also part of the plan. “My sweet darling how are you feeling?” Penelope asked. “How do you expect me to feel like mother? At last you had your way. I lost.” Xavier said. “Well Xavier, you do not always get what you want. Sometimes you get what you do not want and you have to deal with that fact for the rest of your life. I bet after a few years you will realize that you were just being immature and this is the best decision I made for you. Ha ha. And you, Ellen, why are you wearing that ridiculous helmet. It is utterly ridiculous. If you did not walk into this room like it is your parents room I would not even recognize that it was you behind that stupid thing you are wearing. Can you even breathe? Take it off now. ” Alfred said. “No, I don’t want to see his face today. I am mad at him.” Penelope said with a hint of anger in her voice. “Ohh I see. What did the boy do? Forgive him my darling.” Alfred said as he tried to caress Penelope but his hand was pushed away. “Do not think that I have forgotten about what you did Alfred. Ellen, Xavier you may leave and Xavier, do not forget to put on your veil.” Penelope said. To be honest, she was not really angry with Alfred. She knows her husband well and he was not a very smart man but as per the plan she needed him to believe that she was angry so that he could pay less attention to the wedding and more into making her forgive him. Xavier and Ellen left the room and went to Xavier’s room. “I did not know you were such a good actor Xavier.” Ellen teased Xavier as he took off his uniform. It was time for them to switch clothes. “Well if it was not for Alexander I would not be such a good actor.” Xavier said with a little smile on this thin yet plump lips. “You know Xavier, other than the fact that your boyfriend is very handsome but very, very cute at the same time, I do not know anything else about him. Tell me about him.” “Well, for starters, he is not my boyfriend, yet. Secondly, he is the softest person I have ever met.” Xavier said as he smiled widely at nothing. Red blush covering his face as he said the word Boyfriend. It was a perfect word for him to introduce his Alexander to anyone.
