Avery POV May 31 The contractor’s estimate to repair my house made me wince. It wasn’t the cost of the repairs that gave me pause, it was the time frame. They couldn’t start the job for two weeks, then the project, itself, would take another eight. Two and a half months. I was almost fully recovered from my injury. Even though there was a lot of physical therapy left to do, I was well enough to care for myself. Honestly, I could have moved back to my place the week before, but I didn’t want to leave Jonah’s. I had grown accustomed to seeing him every day, and especially to waking up next to him. So, I’d avoided bringing it up. Now, avoidance wasn’t an option. I glanced back at Jonah, who had been reading the estimate over my shoulder, and wondered how I was going to approach the subject.
