Chapter Five

~1 week later~

Right now I'm getting Iris ready for her school play she's going to be Cinderella and Kyle took off work to come too.

"You ready for the play mamas". Kyle asked laying on my bed.

"Yes". She said looking from the tv to him.

"You look beautiful". He said and she smiled running over to him hugging him.

"Tank you". She said kissing his cheek and he kissed her forehead.

"Is her daddy coming". He asked and I glared at him.

"Yea dada". She said jumping up and down.

"No dada not coming but uncle Ashton is coming". I said and she stopped jumping with a sad look on her face.

"Go watch tv princess". Kyle said and she nodded walking off slowly with her head down.

"Wassup with you ari don't tell me you finna be on that stupid s**t". He said staring at me and I gave him the boo look.

"I might be hurt by the s**t he did but I'm not dirty like that I sent him an invitation and he didn't respond so f**k it I'm not about to beg him". I said shrugging my shoulders.

"What did he do any way you never told me". He said standing beside me as I did my make up.

"He's married to T'mesha". I said looking down and he grabbed me pulling me into a hug.

"Don't let that s**t get to you, you're better now and you got a daughter don't let this take you back to that dark place you hear me". He said fanning my face so I didn't mess up my make up.

"I hear you". I said nodding my head with a small laugh.

"Let's go before my niece be late". He said and I grab my phone and keys.

Walking to the living room I tell Iris to come on and we walk out getting in the car.

~School~

Getting out of the car I make my way to the back helping Iris out and she ran off before I could grab her hand.

"IRIS". I yelled frantically looking around the parking lot.

"AYE ARIANA SHE OVER HERE". I heard somebody say and I looked that way to see Ashton holding her with pop-pop and granny Mae beside him.

"What did I tell you about doing s**t like that Iris give me your hand". I said walking over to them and she put her face in his chest.

"I'm not playing with you Iris give me your hand". I said in a stern voice.

"Yo Chill out sis I was calling her over here it was my fault". He said rubbing her back and I knew he was lying for her because I didn't hear anybody call for her but I'll let it slide.

"Don't do that s**t no more Ashton". I said punching his shoulder.

"Ouch PawPaw beat her ass". He said as he tried to kick me.

"You know who butt I'm finna beat, yours if you keep on bothering me". Pop-pop said walking off as I laughed.

"You honestly thought he was gone whoop me, nigga, please". I said shaking my head as we walked into the building.

"I sent your brother an invitation". I said looking at him and he scratched the back of his head.

"Uh Yea he had an important meeting to go to but our dad is coming". He said and I rolled my eyes standing up.

"I'm about to take her to the back". I said grabbing her and walking off.

After giving her to her teacher I walk back to the front to see Masson in the seat beside mines.

"Hey Ariana". He said with a sinister smile.

"Don't talk to me b***h". I said and pop pop slapped my thigh.

"Ouch". I said rubbing it as I mugged him.

"Watch your mouth Lil girl". He said before turning around.

"What was that s**t don't talk to my dad like that". Ashton said looking at me like I was crazy.

"Nigga f**k yo daddy the f**k". I said mugging him and looking straight ahead as the play started.

It was now Irises turn to say her lines and the door opens causing everyone to look back and I see Kane walking in with T'mesha and a little boy.

"UM OKAY YOU HAD YOUR LOOKS NOW EVERYBODY PAY ATTENTION TO MY BABY THANK YOU". I said pointing at the stage before sitting back down.

Iris continued to try and say her lines as I recorded her. When she was done I stood up clapping and screaming.

"Parents you will be picking your children up from backstage thank you". The principal said into the microphone and I stood up walking to the back.

Looking around for her I spotted her looking for me.

"IRIS". I yell and she looks over smiling brightly before running to me and I squatted down to hug her.

"You did fantastic princess". I said kissing all over her face.

"Let's go pop pop said he has a surprise for you". I said picking her up and walking to the front.

"DaDa". She said tapping on my shoulder and I look at her smiling.

"Yea it's dada let's go say hi". I said as I started to walk over to them when I was snatched into what looked like a storage room.

"What the f**k". I said gripping Iris tighter and the lights cut on.

"Keep her f*****g mouth shut". Masson said putting his finger all in my face.

"b***h back up for one and for two that's her father and she can say whatever the f**k she feel like to him". I said turning to walk out when he pressed a gun to her back.

"We're going to walk out there and you better make sure she doesn't say anything or I will shoot her".He said and I nodded walking over to them with him behind us.

"Da".Iris started to say reaching for Kane but I put my hand over her mouth pulling her back to me  and everyone looked over at me like I was crazy.

"Girl Get yo nasty ass hand off my niece mouth".Ashton said mugging me removing my hand and Iris looked at me and I shook my head no.

"Shut up b***h and where is Kyle". I said pushing him and he dramatically fell to the floor knocking down chairs and all the people still inside looked over at us.

"Get yo butt up boy". Pop-pop said hitting him with his cane.

"he's outside sweetheart". Granny Mae said and I nodded.

"You want to go see uncle Kyle before he goes to his friend's house". I ask looking down at her and she nodded her head.

"I'll be back y'all and while I'm gone figure out where we going to eat at". I said walking out the building looking around for Kyle.

When I spotted him I was about to yell his name when I saw a black SUV slow down and I saw a gun sticking out the window.

"KYLE GET DOWN". I yell and he turns around looking confused.
