Chapter 1
Five days before: Ivory's P.O.V.
I stepped out of my room to see the two-twenty-year-old soon-to-be Alpha's standing there, waiting to torment me.
I look up sheepishly at them with fear emitting from my body. They must have sensed it because Vallen instantly grabs me and shoves me towards his twin, Theo. I try to get away but their grips are too hard.
Finally, after what seems to have been forever, their father, Alpha Pierce, steps into the hall and clears his throat. "Boys, leave Ivory alone, she has chores she must attend to." his voice makes me tremble as if I'm in trouble.
The boys sigh, give me a glare and stalk off. I quickly walked downstairs to make breakfast before Luna Iris woke. Just as I'm finishing up, my Luna walks into the kitchen. She was always the nicest to me. "It smells splendid Ivory, you must've worked very hard on this." she always compliments my cooking, even though Alpha Pierce had told me I don't need to cook constantly. I enjoy it. It gives me time to myself and gets me away from my tormenting soon-to-be Alphas.
I was getting ready to turn 18, the age my wolf will come and the day I will be able to start looking for my mate. It was less than a week away and I was so excited. "Ivory." hummed my Luna. "Yes Luna?" I responded. "Your birthday is almost here, and as a token for all the hard work you do around here, I'd like to give you this so you can go out and do something fun." the Luna handed me a handful of neatly rolled cash, something I'd never expected from her or anyone for that matter.
"Thank you Luna, so much. This means so much to me." my tone was cheerful and a hint of tear in my eyes, as no one had ever really given me a birthday present before.
"It's the least I could do. You cook, you clean, you put up with the boys on a daily basis and I know they torment you. Don't be afraid to stand up for yourself though." she murmured to me. I nodded in acknowledgement.
"Hurry up and go get ready for the day. You don't wanna be late for training." she warned, reminding me of the time.
I rushed out the door and slammed into a tall 6'5, rock-hard body. Vallen, of course he's gonna torment me some more.
"Careful where you're going pup." he sneered. He really knew how to push my buttons. I scooted around him and continued walking.
Suddenly, I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist. I turn my head slightly and see Theo out of the corner of my eye. I struggle against his massive size and immense strength.
"Where you going, tiny?" he asked curiously.
I huffed and calmed myself before answering, "To training, where I'm supposed to be before I ran into Vallen and before you grabbed me." I continued to squirm until he let me go.
After he set me on the ground, I turned around to face him. I could see Vallen over his shoulder but Theo didn't seem to care, he looked at me intensely. "Good luck at training tiny." he smiled and gave me a wink before turning on his heels to leave.
I don't even know what to think of that. Theo winked at me? Why, it piqued my interest very much.
The reason why no one celebrated my birthday is because I share a birthday with Vallen and Theo, so my birthday was always overlooked except by Luna, who was always so kind to me as if she was my mother.
She had a very strong mothering instinct and took in a pup who didn't belong to her. She fed me and cared for me and loved me in a way mothers do.
I arrived to training about five minutes late and the trainer glares at me. "Why are you late Ivory?" he stalked towards me. I was at a loss for words until a voice came from behind me, "Sorry Coach Nathan, that is our fault." it was Theo and Vallen. I forgot that we shared a training class. "Sorry Alphas, I didn't know."
They waved it off, not even caring. They stood on either side of me when we all lined up to train. "Ok class," Coach Nathan's voice boomed. "We're gonna be learning how to be on the offence and defence today." I smiled, knowing I was a pretty good fighter. "Since we have an odd number of students, one group will have three. Since Vallen, Theo, and Ivory showed up late. They're that group." My smile quickly faded. I was no match for two Alphas, let alone one. They looked at me and smiled. "Oh Ivory," Vallen cooed, trying to get my attention.
I whipped my head around and he was already in his stance to spar. I was genuinely scared. They seemed to sense it because Vallen dropped his stance and walked to me. "How about this, Theo stands behind you while we spar and he'll catch my hand before it hits you, ok?" he tried to reassure me. I nodded, unable to speak.
Theo helped me get into my stance in front of Vallen. "Do you want to be on offence or defence first?" he asked me while getting into his stance. I thought for a moment before piping up, "Defence?" I wasn't entirely sure. He nodded. I moved my hands to my waist to be prepared to block his punch.
It came faster than I expected and I had no time to move. I don't think I could've moved even if I wanted to. My eyes flew shut as soon as I saw his hand come flying. Air brushed past my face and I had to pry my eyes open. Theo's hand had caught his brother's fist before it made contact with my nose, which would surely have broken it.
"Come on Tiny, you can do it." Theo murmured into my ear. I got flusted as I felt butterflies in my stomach and smiled.
"Again." I urged. This time, I was ready. Vallen's fist came flying to my face once more and before Theo could react, I shifted my weight to the side, leaned while grabbing his fist with one hand and punching him in the chest with the other. He stepped back. No one had ever gotten a hit on him before.
I smiled to myself proudly as he congratulated me. "Time to switch spots." Theo replaced Vallen in front of me and we got into our stances.
His fist came flying but not as fast as Vallen's did. I grabbed it, turned on my heel and elbowed him in the side. It didn't phase him since he has that Alpha body and it slightly stung my elbow. While I was distracted with my arm, he took this chance to grab me in a bear hug and refused to set me down. I struggled against him, his scent was strong and I knew I was gonna smell heavily like him after practice.
The good thing is, today was the last day of training.
