Chapter 13 : King Arthur's Truth 2

After thoroughly thinking about it I then decided to use a Carillion potion to disrupt the transformation.

If I let them transform permanently then the mating ritual will be completed successfully.

If this trial becomes successful then we will have no freewill. This means that we now belong to them because they'll keep coming to find their mate's among us until our race is completely wiped out.

I must do this the hard way. I must act fast and smartly.

But how am I going to get the Carillion potion???

If I am caught purchasing the ingredients to make it myself I'll definitely be blamed when the trial fails and the changelings end up dead besides only the Carillion potion brewed by a wizard will remain untraceable even after its work has been done.

I need to go to the fairy world. I need to visit a strong wizard.

Now I can't just send anyone to go and get me the potion because I don't want to leave any evidence that could be traced back to me and

As a king I can't just leave our kingdom except there is an important issue that requires my presence.

So I went to the fairy world myself with the excuse that I needed a strong potion to be brewed for me to help me sleep well because I've suddenly developed insomnia.

When I got to the fairy world I decided to get the potion from the greatest white fairy wizard "Lord Lorenzo " because I know his potion is untraceable and very effective.

He was surprised when he saw me because I could have easily sent anyone to get whatever I wanted or better still I could have sent for him to come to me and he'd have gladly obliged me.

But now here I am in his house simply to get a tranquilizer to aid my sleep. Yes I said tranquilizer. We aren't mere humans so we don't use just ordinary pills for sleeping because its quite useless on us. Only tranquilizers can put us out because we are like beasts. The tranquilizers are brewed differently for each creature and only strong wizard's can brew them.

After I requested for for my tranquilizer he moved aside to brew the special tranquilizers for my species and that was when I got the opportunity to steal some of his Carillion potion from his shelf. I made sure I used other potions to cover the space where the Carillion potion I just stole used to occupy on the shelf.

When I was done with my mission I quickly sat down and patiently waited for him to be done so I can collect my tranquilizer and leave his house.

When he was done he brought it out to me. I could see the curiosity and doubt in his eyes. I know he still finds it strange that I am in his house but I don't care about his thoughts right now. I now have what I really came for so every other thing is none of my business for now.

When I left the wizard's house I did not return to Nexus immediately because I still have to make use of the Carillion potion.

And so I first visited the house of the fairy that is to mate with one of the changeling.

They had no security because they were never expecting any foul play.

I simply sneaked in and added the potion to their food.

I did the same to all the other creatures that are trying to mate with changelings.

I know that the effects of the potion will be worst for the changelings but right now I have no other options So their deaths will be considered as a sacrifice for the greater good.

Am sure our makers will be proud of my actions because I am doing all these just to save our race from complete annihilation.

Within the next two days the news got to us that the changelings could not complete the permanent change.

They reported back to us that just like humans the changelings died also before the change was completed.

The leaders of those other creatures all came to apologise for not listening to me when I said it was not possible for changelings to mate with their kind.

My brother was dumbfounded. He could not believe that eight changelings lost their lives because of his assumptions.

For days he locked himself in his room because the guilt was too heavy in his heart.

Serves him right!!

Next time he'll listen to me and obey me.

After some days,,he summoned courage and came to me and apologised.

Arnold : Am sorry brother. I disappointed you and I failed my people.

King Arthur : Don't you dare!!! Don't you ever call me your brother,,,you traitor.

Arnold : I don't know how to redeem myself before you. I just want things to go back to how it used to be before all these. I can step down as regent but please do not despise me. You are my only brother and I love you very much.

King Arthur : Hahahaha.... Love you say.. You're so pathetic... Where was your love for me when you invited the leaders and the council to unseat me???

Arnold : Am sorry brother.. I never meant to unseat you brother. I just wanted to do the right thing so our people would be happy.

King Arthur : You're not my brother anymore..

And No.. I won't let you step down as regent. I don't want to be seen as a petty king that cannot forgive even his own brother. You shall continue with your duties as regent. But know this Arnold " You're no brother of mine "

He was still pleading for my forgiveness when a guard came to tell us that a fairy is here asking to see the king.

The stupid guard did not tell us that it is the well known great fairy wizard.

If I had known it was the fairy wizard I visited earlier,, I would have gone to see him myself.

But I thought it was one of those fairy leaders that just came to pay their condolences for the death of the changelings. So I said to Arnold..

King Arthur : See what you've caused?? More people are now here for condolence.. Since you are the reason the changelings died,, its only fair that you attend to everything that concerns their death and funeral. I believe the fairy was sent here to that regards and the others will also come here soon for the same reason. I do not want to be bothered by any of it. I leave it all for you to handle personally.

Arnold : Smiling...As it pleases my king. I'll get right to it brother.

He left my presence while smiling like an i***t because I assigned him this duty.

And that's how Arnold went and spoke to the fairy wizard who then told him that he suspects foul play because he recognized the work of his potion.

All these while I was not aware of all that my brother and the fairy discussed.

It was three weeks later when I discovered that they were both plotting against me.

The guards reported that my brother is always busy and he is not able handle the trainings of changelings in the morning.

They simply wanted me to appoint someone to take over the trainings in the morning because they believed that I must have assigned other duties to Arnold that takes his time so much.

Stupid Stupid Arnold!!!

If you want to do things behind my back you need to first learn how to cover your tracks.

Hearing the report from the guards made me to look into Arnold's recent activities.

Then I found out that they were conducting another trial behind our backs. Arnold and Lord Lorenzo planned to disgrace andexpose me.

Traitors!!!

I can't believe Arnold would go this far just to do the right thing.

I need to do something to stop them.

I have to act fast because the trial they were doing is almost complete.

Soon Arnold and Lord Lorenzo would have the proof that they need to bring me down.

I'll be dammed if I let that happen.

They did their trial with only one changeling and a fairy but I arranged and took four more changelings to their base of operation and I killed them all with the same potion I stole from the fairy wizard. Then I exposed their hideout and framed them both for the deaths of all the changelings.

Everyone was already sad about the deaths of the first eight changelings, So when I showed them the hideout of my brother and the fairy wizard they saw the current trial being conducted by those two.. they were forced to believe me that truly my brother only wants to bring me down and he's also getting help from a white wizard.

Everyone supported me because the evidence I had against them was much. They were labelled as traitors and the penalty was DEATH for them and their families.

And that was how I sentenced my brother and the fairy wizard and their families to death.

It's hard to do this to my only brother but I've come too far to turn back now.

I have to see this through to the end. Am doing this all these for the greater good. Am doing this to save our race I kept telling myself.

My brother cried out to me and kept pleading for justice but I turned a deaf ear to his pleas.

The Wizard refused to accept the fate. He refused to be judged unjustly. He tried to fight back but he couldn't do anything because the council had already used the crucial orb to subdue his powers and weaken him. He was so weak that he couldn't do anything. I don't even know how he managed to hide his youngest son from me. I was told he had an apprentice but I could not find the apprentice neither could I find his youngest son. so I settled with the ones I had in prison already.

They were all hanged before my very eyes. I could not bear to look at my brother. I just stared at the wall until it was all over. out of guilt I spared my brother's two children because they are too young to be a threat to me. But I executed every other person involved in their plot.

I got rid of every evidence of their nearly successful trial.

The white fairy wizard still refused to die in vain. He used his last breath to send his life force to my pregnant wife. I was able to see it because my true strength lies with the fairies. I saw it with my fairy eyes. His life force floated out of him and went to my house and so I stood up immediately and i followed it.

Stupid Stupid Fairy... He sent it to my mate because he thinks I can't hurt her.

Immediately I entered our room I saw my mate sitting and crying on our bed. She looked up at me with teary eyes.

Carla : What have you done?? You've brought a great calamity upon our people.

King Arthur : I did it for us my love. They'll take the throne from me and force our people into mating with their people. We'll be their f*****g slaves. I can't let that happen... I just can't.

Carla : You fool!! You despicable fool.. You'll never get away with this I promise you. Even if you shut me up the other person will speak up.

King Arthur : I was looking at her with wide eyes and she started laughing mockingly when she realized I don't what she meant.

What other person Carla??

Carla : You want to know right?? You want to kill him too?? You'll never find him because you won't know who it is.

King Arthur : Tell me who it is woman!!

Carla : I don't f*****g know who it is. The life force of the fairy split when it entered into this room. The second half will locate a worthy bearer. It could be anyone. You can't hide this secret forever Arthur. I suggest you come clean now before You're exposed publicly.

King Arthur : No!! Never!! I'd rather die.

Carla : Then get ready because you'll definitely get what's coming to you. Am never standing with you on this... YOU MURDERER!!
