Chapter 13

1798 Words
I asked this guy and he looks so clueless and that's not something that I want to hear from him. Geez. I'll give him a chance but I really don't like the look in his face.  “Uhmm, what do you mean?” he asked me and I am slowly getting frustrated with this guy. Imagine how much time I am wasting just by talking to him. Such an asshole. “About the competition?” I asked him again but I am unsure. Ohh just a little more and I will explode so powerful that will tear you into many pieces just trust and I will try to do that to you because oh boy my hand is itching for a fight right now. Hehehe.  I need to buy that GRX 9090, and I don't care if it will take me millions of money. It's just a piece of paper. Says the rich girl. But who cares anyway? “Oh!” he said brightened. “PCGG will held a competition for the card, they did not expect that there will be too many customers just for that card and keeping in mind that there is only 4 of it right now, so they announced earlier that there will be a competition amongst the real gamers that sought after it, the 4 winners will get to buy the card,” he explained and I was so happy that I don’t know what to reply to this guy. I want to hug him so badly because he is like a godsent angel from above to tell me not to lose hope. “Do I still have time for the registration?” I asked him again. “Yeah, if you rush now because they will close soon, and oh, remember to choose your bracket wisely since they plan to have 4 champions in different brackets,” he explained and I will keep in mind that tip that he just gave me. “Thank you!” I appreciate this guy so much; I will take my words back for calling him an asshole. He is such a great guy, what can I do? He helped me a lot. I immediately rushed towards the crowded store to register for the competition, I am not entirely great at games but I sure know that I am better at bribing my opponents, and if they don’t bite the hook, gawd help me to win the match. I am hoping that the games that will be played is favorable to me. I am just kidding on the bribing part since it will hurt my pride as a proud warrior, this is my moral code, the winner deserves the price. Just paying money throughout that match is a disgrace in my character. I will make sure that I deserve that card and besides the people here are rich and bribing them with my pocket money is not effective. We reached the registration table for us to get in the match. There are 4 ladies in front of us, each has their own pens and papers to enlist the participants. I turned to Alexis who just stare at the crowd like a mannequin in a clothing store. “Hey,” I called her attention and she turned to me. “You should register too, and separate brackets with me, so even a little bit it will increase my chances on getting that card,” I told her my idea and I pushed her on the bracket 2 and I will compete for the card in bracket 1; even Alexis is not knowledgeable about games there is no harm for her on trying, right? My eyes tightened as I saw the tall guy from earlier. My speculations are right, he is also after the card and most of all I will be competing with him. Oh I am more motivated just by thinking that I will defeat him and have him cry over me because I have the card he wants. I don’t know but I get pissed just by looking at him The line progresses and it took a while for all the participants to write their names in their own respective brackets, and my time has finally come. My time to register in this competition. Well, I grabbed the pen that the lady is reaching out to me. She told me to write my name and age, in every column and my signature on the last part. Obviously to avoid detection from the enemies, I wrote down my fake name, Samantha Johnson. While I write the required information, I tried to find the name of that guy, because he’s so familiar to me that it bugs me out. Maybe just by looking at his name, I will remember where I have seen him or remember him. I remember that he is just 6 people ahead of me so I tried to count it, aaaaaand there! Reikou Y- “Hey! Hurry up!” a man who is behind me shouted and my focus was broken. I stood up quickly and signed the paper. I turned around and gave that man a killer stare that sends shivers all over his body. Geez! I was about to know his name. What a pity! “This way miss,” an employee guided me inside the room and there I saw a label above the door bracket 1. I followed quietly and obediently and soon we reached the lobby where all my competitors are waiting for the match to start. I filled the vacant seat on the couch where other female participants just like me is waiting. A nerdy girl, waved her hand at me and I awkwardly smiled at her also waved my hand towards her. The lady between us does not care about us at all which reminds me of Alexis, but her eyes are sticked on her phone, scrolling and scrolling. I got a gut feeling that she will be a tough competitor. I scanned the whole are to find that guy whom I believe to be Reikou, as his name was written in that paper. There is a possibility that he is not Reikou and I miscount the people ahead of me, so I will not call him Reikou yet. His huge body made it easier for me to spot him and there he is on a corner just sitting and waiting. I stared at him for a moment to remember where I had seen him but he felt uncomfortable at my stare and avoided my direction. Geez! What a loser! Whatever, I will just wait here and mind my own business just like what everyone is doing. As time passed, more and more people are entering the room that made this big lobby to be crowded. This will be a long and exhausting day for me. I hope Alexis is alright on the other side and not causing a ruckus to the moderators there. Moments later, a man with a logo of PCGG store in his polo shirt entered the room with a microphone in his hand. “GOOOOOOD AFTERNOON! GAMERS!” he greeted us and the ones dozing off was awoken by the loud greeting of the man. He is smiling so wide that it made me think that he has a great life, but who knows what lies beyond that mask of his. Moving on, all of our attentions was pinned to him since he will announce the rules and regulations about the upcoming match. “Are you ready for the competition for the GRX 9090?” he asked us. “YEAH!” the crowd shout in unison except for me. “The priced card that will improve your gaming experience to a newer height that the gaming industry has never seen,” just by hearing that adlib of him makes me so excited to get that card. “So, brace yourselves as the ones who can get this early on will be on the hands of the most skilled and legit gamer!” he added. I felt nervous when I heard that since I know to myself that I am not a dedicated gamer, I will just hope that my intelligence is enough to handle them. “I have a question?” a voice of a man interrupted his speech. We all turned our heads towards him, to my surprise it’s the same man that’s bugging me out continuously. “Go ahead sir,” the employee allowed him respectfully. “With all due respect, is there enough devices to hold the competition with these many people competing for one card?” he asked and he has a point for asking that question. There are too many people here for just one card. “That’s the point of this competition,” he answered with seriousness in his voice. “The owner has seen through it, that there will be many customers that will try to race for the card,” he added. “Yes, before this mall opened its doors for the people, PCGG is prepared for these adversities,” he answered his question but unclear. “Beyond this room, lies our gaming area where competition will be held for you all, just for the sake of having fair services,” he said promoting their store. “Question answered, thank you,” he said again and puts his raised hand down. “Where was I?” the employee whispered to himself but it was enough to be heard by the microphone he is holding. “Okay are you ready folks?” he just asked us the same question from earlier because he does not remember his adlib thanks to that guy. “YEAH!” once again the shouted in unison. “Follow me to PCGG’s gaming stadium,” he proposed and we all stand up and I just stand still because I don’t want to be caught up with that wild crowd. Afterall it’s not about being first in the line, it’s all about being the winner for the card. I saw the tall guy also having his time waiting for the crowd to get out. This is my chance to know him. “Hey,” I called onto him and he looks at me with his Asian eyes. “Goodluck out there,” I started by showing him some sportsmanship. That might do the trick for him to be comfortable with me- Wait what? He just smiled at me without replying the same sportsmanship I showed. He just ignored me completely. Oh I want to punch this guy, be thankful that we are in the borderlands right now. Just try to enter one of our territories and I will beat you to a pulp.
