Chapter 50

“We’re here,” Alexis said when we reached the dock’s entrance. The moon is at its peak right now and this place’s lighting is very dim that will make it harder for us to see, with just our eyes. That’s why we brought equipment that will help us through the battle. “It’s quiet,” Gerick remarked, he is the one that I brought with me, with his tactical thinking that I can use, in the middle of the battle. He helped us to plan earlier before and I can say that his plan is very efficient, and with his brains and calmness in the middle of the battle. One of his incredible feats that made me to choose him to be part of my team, is that he turned the tides of one of our battles because of his tactical thinking, that with only 7 men against an army. With his strategies he rallied against them without the other six dying on him. That is why I chose him to be a part of my team, because I don’t want some dying on me too. “Maybe we are just too early,” Troy replied and he is the last one that I have chosen in forming my 5 man team. He is very techy and good when it comes to tinkering stuffs, that’s why he is the only one out of us 5 that has the biggest baggage out of us 5.  His inventions are to behold and he is very good at making types of explosives, and with just a few of us, that will prove to be more useful. Taking down multiple enemies with just one swoop is a big deal for us. “Guys, let’s focus ourselves in the mission,” I said to them because I feel like that, they are taking this task lightly. This is no time to joke around. “Let’s focus, the enemy might be anticipating our arrival, it’s better to be safe than never,” I whispered to them. The car is parked away from the main entrance of the docks and it is perfectly hidden from plain sight in case there are patrols in this area. Fortunately, they obey me very quickly and they are well disciplined, it’s a good thing that I can see some confidence inside them. That’s great because later is no time for hesitation. “Let’s take another turn,” Alexis suggested and I turned around to look at her. “Why?” I asked her because that will change our plan significantly and every move that we will be taking right now is calculated. “Something doesn’t feel right,” she said to me. “It’s just like you said, the enemies might be anticipating our arrival,” she speculated, I didn’t think that she will take my words that seriously. “But that will change our plans,” I said my point to her because taking a different route means that we will be taking a different course of action entirely. “The hell with our plan, if that will lead us straight to death,” she argued with me and I looked at my 3 other members that is currently all eyes on me and Alexis. “What are your thoughts?” I asked the three. “I have the same feeling as her,” Gerick said. “It’s like this quietness of the place is unusual for a busy activity,” he said his point, and that made Alexis’s point clearer to me. For an arrival, they seem to be pretty chill. “I say we take the safest route,” Anthony seconds the motion and now I should go on with Alexis’s idea as majority of them are suggesting that we take the safest route. “Wait a minute I’ll just finish putting traps here,” he said and I recognize what he is putting in that corner. A holographic tripwire that anyone who steps on it will be caught just like a normal tripwire will do, and after a couple of seconds, the trip wire will release a flashbang explosion that will stun them. Also Troy lost an eye, and his digital eye right now allows him to see enemies that are caught by his traps. I can’t entirely explain it because I don’t really understand the terms used for technology. He just explained it briefly to us earlier. Bringing him with us benefitted us the most as we can be alerted if there are lurking enemies from behind.  We watched him finishing his business and while he is doing that I decided to scout the area and Alexis came with me. “It seems like that there is no other way on entering the docks,” I said to Alexis noting to her that this place is entirely covered with cargos, acting as a wall for this place. It seems like that they intended it to be this way to prevent some entering the premises unnoticed. “There is always a way,” Alexis muttered. “We are good to go,” and I heard Troy, I looked at him and scanned the other two, to see if they are really ready for the infiltration that we are going to do. “Good, let’s go,” I turned my back on them and I started walking slowly while I am continuously scanning the area, especially the higher grounds to avoid some scouts following us. So far this place really seems like empty, and I have a bad feeling that they already got the shipment and we are very late, but I am sure that I have read the information that dad given to us carefully. I am sure that the shipment will arrive this 8 in the evening, and we arrived 7:30 pm, so we have extra time to prepare ourselves and gear for the battle. Or the information broken just gave us false information and the actual shipment is happening somewhere. She took a deep breath so she can avoid to think negatively from their situation right now. They continue to walk and they are led to the beach side and above them is a guard house with lights. At least now they knew that there is someone guarding this place. “Leave it to me,” Alexis volunteered and she started to climb the wall.
