Chapter 18

Okay now, my goal is to enter that safe zone and to find a safe camp to check what I just got from the supply crate, the only thing I thing I noticed is the camouflage suit that will make me blend in the green grass at least from far away with the enemies’ point of view.

Well this is a big game changer for me, as I told all of you earlier. This can make a very very effective ambush on the enemies; I saw the supply plane cargo once again and it dropped 2 supply crates on its way but in two different locations far away from each other. I could go straight on one of them while I’m on my way to enter the ring.

But… on the other side I need to find a camp first so I can devise a well strategic plan for the incoming third round. My improvised plan from earlier, I just got lucky there, nothing special but that luck will soon run out if I go to war unprepared. I don’t want to test my luck any longer since I can’t allow to lose especially right now that there are only 30 of us left in the battle field…

Woah! Woah! Woah! That hurt, someone just shot me from afar and thankfully my armor reduced that body shot. There are no any sound cues triggered from that shot so I cannot tell where direction it came from. The slight sound coming from it, I did not hear it so that means the one who shot me is very far away from me.

I panicked once again and this is just a plain grass field as the mini map says “Grass Land”, it has medium sized grass that exposes me very clear from the enemies. I quickly switched to my knife and began to sprint jump to avoid getting shot from the head. If I can avoid that, I’ll be safe. While I sprint to safety, I pressed the alt button to activate the free look, while it does not affect the direction where I am going. This really helps a lot since I can continue to flee while observing the area.

While I look around, I saw a faint flash from behind, and that gave me an idea. I did the zigzag step once again to avoid of getting shot from his gun. He’s also using a sniper and a low level one, because the damage from the gun is not that high.

Someone’s not lucky with supplies, I’m pretty sure that I changed guns with that supply crate but there is no time to explain it since I caused a pretty much ruckus back there and this player must be the one that I attracted. Well, I can win, in terms of firepower since I have the upper hand when it comes to sniper battle but I still cannot risk it as people tend to be unpredictable sometimes.

I continue to stick with my jump sprint tactic and avoided those bullets and when he reloads, I’ll went for the shot that will decide his fate with the GRX9090. I suspect that this gun has at least 10 bullets maximum and six the least. I can’t tell what attachments that he picked up to upgrade the gun. The sniper rifle has the most reload time amongst the gun and next is the machine gun since both of them are heavy weapons.

One second delay from his shot is enough for me to tell that he is reloading the gun and the cue for me to fire at him. I will make sure that he will regret every bullet that he fired at me. I will make sure of it. It’s the fifth shot and it hit me on the foot. There is a damage indicator on the right and the glowing red part in my body is the one where the bullet hits me.

This time it’s the legs and I have 72 hp left in my health bar. Gawd, can’t take this any longer and there I saw another small boulder enough to cover me from that guy if I crouched. There I will heal myself if he is still not reloading the gun.

WHAT! Another bullet hits me and this time it hits my shoulder almost on the head and I took a lot of damage from that, 20 remaining hp before I am eliminated from this competition. This guy! I am getting anxious. I crawled instantly to reduce vision but he will catch up with me, but I am confident that I will reach that boulder before that happens.

 The grass is tall enough to give me temporary cover from the fire but it will not block any bullets and one lucky shot from that guy, means it is all over for me. My eyes widened when a bullet hits a nearby ground, that was close phew! 6th shot. Then another two followed up, he has 10 bullets. 2 more and I will take the shot.

One near miss again and the only thing that I can hear right now is my heart thumping my ears, gawd, 29 left cause there is someone killed again by Anonymous. That guy, I want to avoid him as much as possible right now. The another miss and I stood up and did a quick scope with my rifle and there I hit him but not enough to one shot him. He hid behind a nearby tree and I took the chance to ran towards the boulder.

I successfully hid behind the rock that gave me temporary safety from the enemies. I quickly pressed the biggest medkit that I had in my inventory, 20 hp left and that will add up 80 more to bring me back in full hp again. He will pay, my level 3 armor was critically damaged from that encounter and I have a couple of armor pads.

I still don’t know how this works but I have the slightest idea, I hope I am right. I activated the armor pads and it has 5 seconds loading time before it is successfully applied to me. There is enough distance from me and him, enough to apply all of these.

Finally, it was done and I am right! The armor was repaired I can’t believe my eyes. Woah, so that’s how it works. I am happy because I don’t need to find other armors anymore if I can repair this one with me. It’s hard to let go of high leveled equipment that is why I am thankful that I can repair it once again.

This works great for me, but it does not fully repair it and I need a couple of armor pads to fully repair the armor, but now is enough to face that bastard. I can hear the grass rustling and that is not the wind, it’s him walking towards me. I don’t know what is his secondary weapon so I need to keep my distance from him. If he is carrying a shotgun and I just popped out in front of him. That’s a fricking epic fail that will make me sad. Geezas!

I backed away from the boulder and I heard a faint gunshot from behind which made it scarier for me to back off more. 24 survivors left, I guess those supply crates was the ones who caused war among them. This one is a problem enough for me to take. When I had enough distance safe from the shotgun critical strike zone. I popped outside the boulder, and there he is near enough for me to see him crawling in the grasses. We exchanged fires because my assault rifle was upgraded by the equipment, I got from the crate earlier.

He is using a low level SMG (Semi Machine Gun) that barely pierces through my level 3 armor. Someone is really not lucky enough with supplies here, he is the best example of too much safe play. The punishment that he got was severe, eliminating himself from the battle for the card. I think he can get through with this round by playing safe. He steps on a trip wire and that is his wrong move.

I am the trip wire. As I said earlier, I will make sure that he will regret messing with me. I think he got too cocky by landing a couple of lucky shots and that is his undoing.

“Unlucky for you,” I said to him before firing the last bullet that killed him that turned up my kill count to 5. He dropped the loot bag and lucky for me that I can upgrade my already upgraded sniper rifle with a silencer that he had. My chances of winning this game drastically rise up and my confidenc-

I was shocked when I saw the anonymous player just got six consecutive kills, and now there is 19 left of us in the battle field. I can hear a huge uproar from the stadium and I crawled on the grass and I took off one of my earpads to hear what’s the announcer is saying.

“That was a huge uproar by anonymous, the battle for that crate took a huge turn on the whole game and now there is only 19 left in the battlefield and those who are alive right now passes to the second round, but the twentieth player is a confusion thanks to that unpredictable move by Anonymous,” one of them said. I thought they are going to mute themselves.

“That’s right Allan, that was a huge uproar that smoke bomb, grenade, Molotov combo really pushed them in the corner,” the other one added.

“Hey the announcement,” I heard his partner named Allan said.

“Oh right! Now the top 3 of this round will receive a secret prize at the end of the contest for the card, because it will be boring for our audience to remove your motivation in this match,” he said. “Oh the top 1 will receive another secret special prize from PCGG,” he added. “Goodluck and we will determine who is the twentieth survivor who will proceed to the next round,” he said before muting.
