After we fixed our runic page and picked our own hero spells, the 30 seconds countdown started and after this, it will take us to the loading page where we are directed to the game itself. It did not take long since we are in the same connection.
We fall on a safe area where, any enemies who walked inside it will be one shotted by the well tower. I clicked on the store and there I bought a dagger and 2 healing potions. A notification appeared in my screen that once I leave the safe area, the only way to access the shop again is to die, which I already know.
I clicked on the middle area of the map to command my character to go there, this map being designed for fast phase games, we are currently given three abilities which means that our three basic abilities are up in this around and the minions are still not spawning. This is a good chance to duel him, my champion has greater damage output in the early game and I might take the chance to get the first blood now while I’m at it.
40 seconds until the minion spawn.
The female-built announcer of the game said, and that 40 seconds is a plenty of time to duel Mitsuha and battle for the first blood. Since this is a map with no bushes, there will be no surprise cc (crowd control) that will prevent me from getting the first blood. Also on the enemy base there is a fog of war that prevent me from getting early information from them, and the only way from uncovering it is by going there. That simple.
I reached the place where I commanded my character and I sticked to my tower, I checked the time and only 5 seconds just passes and I still have 35 seconds to duel him for the first blood. I went little by little to get information as much as possible from Mitsuha.
Unfortunately, he won’t risk the chances for the first blood and he just tower hugged for the whole 35 seconds, I tried to throw shadow blade to him, my first skill, but he managed to evade it.
Minions had spawned.
The reactor spawned 3 siege minions which has decent attack damage and health, and behind it is mage minions that has more attack range and they have more damage than siege minions but is very squishy compared to the siege minions.
It will take, 20 seconds for them to reach the main battle field since they don’t have great mobility. Even an individual minion deals not much damage to our characters, don’t underestimate them since together they can kill you, and before an entire wave was cleared by us, it reduced a great amount of our health, since we don’t have any items yet. They are programmed to attack enemies, any enemies and destroy, also defend us if we are attacked within their range. They are the bravest thing in this game because they will still face a tower head on even, they don’t have any chance to bring it down.
The goal of this game is just simple. Destroy the enemy reactor, you win. No matter how much you are behind in KDA (Kill, Deaths, Assist) compared to your opponent, as long as you destroy the enemy reactor. You can win the game. Sounds so simple isn’t it?
Though, the objective my be simple in everyone’s minds this game is not called a strategic game for no reason. When you are behind, it requires a lot of luck or even a miracle to win a game, but that’s near impossible to win that game unless the enemy is inting or decided to disconnect on the match.
There are so many factors needed to be taken in mind to win this game. Lane management, sustainability, wave clear, and so many more. I played this game for a very long time that’s why I am confident that I can execute all of this in this match, even he has a much greater win chance than me basing on the hero stats and class that we picked.
All that matters is that we play our hero with skill.
The minions clashed in the middle of the lane and both us are just walking back and forth while the minions are attacking each other. By the time that the enemy minions’ health is reduced greatly and we can just kill it with one auto attack, we kill it to gain gold.
Also minions are our source of income in this game. Items are essential as it will give our abilities power boost that we needed and to counter their current stats. For example, healing and life steal are negated by items that can inflict grievous wounds to the enemy champion.
Mitsuha’s hero is the one who attacked a first vulnerable minion and his minions has still health and I can’t still one shot it. While he is auto attacking the minions, I used it as an opportunity to throw a shadow blade towards him which will he not avoid since he is in the middle of an animation. It’s a direct hit and I gave him a decent amount of damage. He backs off and I’m the one who killed minions but he casted his first skill where he slams his sword on the ground if I am in a certain area, it will give me a knock-up effect which is a type of cc skill. That’s why I am wary towards him.
The first three minutes passes, just us trading damages and killing minions for outcome. Nothing major is still not happening. I don’t want to give him the first blood gold since I don’t want him to be ahead of me. We are currently in level 6, it is when our ultimate ability is unlocked which is a very crucial skill in our skill set. Mine is a burst and dash type and his is a transformation and enhancer type. Just by looking he has the advantage since he can enhance his stats.
My ultimate ability just stacks up damage until the inflicted bomb exploded, that’s why I need to land every ability I throw at him in that time period. He is also tanky and me, just a squishy hero.
“Both sides are playing it safe, and that is a bit ironic for Mitsuha since he is taunting our top guy here during the banning phase,” I heard one of the announcers said while we are busy farming minions in this lane.
Then both of our chosen hero skills are fully charged up and this is the moment that I have been waiting for. Both us with only basic items in hand, I believe I can burst him pretty badly.
“Right Cal, I don’t know who will get the first blood in this case, and look both of their chosen hero skills are both charged up, maybe we will get to see some action now,” his partner said and he is right, they are about to see some action from me.
I casted my second skill, which my hero will throw a shadow clone where I can swap position with it and it will cast other abilities that I cast, towards him and I immediately swapped position with it. He casted his 2nd skill which is a chain binding but I evaded it when I pressed my ultimate ability, the death mark, which will make me untargetable for a few seconds, and will create another shadow clone and there is an x ticking in his hero, there I predicted my shadow blade and the other two shadow clones also throw a shadow blade in that direction. All of the blades hit him which is great at stacking damage
He also pressed his ultimate ability and he transformed into a winged beast, and to counter his life steal I casted upon him the burn that will reduce his healing effects significantly and will damage him little by little within its time range. He casted his first skill which he will slam down his sword on the ground and I did a side step to avoid the knock up effects, his first skill can be casted three times and when he casted the second one I pressed my second hero ability which is flash which will blink me on a short range and I did it to close the range at him and avoid the knock up area.
I pressed my third ability which my hero will swing his blade around, it will deal slowing effect to the enemies that has been caught up within its range, it has a small circle range but thanks to my flash I will not worry about it. I auto attacked him twice and he used his third ability which is a small dash but my first ability just charged up just on time. I throw another one and after that the death mark exploded.
FIRST BLOOD!
I was surprised when I saw an exploding reactor explosion. Wait did I just won the game? Is this a game where the one who gets the first kill wins? I am not informed. I saw Mitsuha accepted his defeat unlike that enraged guy earlier.
“Good game, well played,” he typed on the chat box but I did not had the chance because we are taken to the post lobby. Oh for the love of the grub, I did not listen to the briefing earlier. If I my plan did not went just as I want it to be, then that means I don’t have the slightest hope getting that card. That was a close one. Very close.
“I AM SPEECHLESS!” the announcer shouted and I am as shocked as him. “What a great performance by Anonymous and that’s what you get for taunting him!” he added and the crowd is pleased with those words as they cheer very loudly. The shouts amazed with what I just did.
“That’s a goodbye to Mitsuha in this competition,” his partner said while Mitsuha is guided by the employees outside the stadium.
