Chapter 25

“Sir,” I called on sir Yamato for the news that I had gathered just recently.

“What is it Kuro?” he asked me why I called on him.

“I have received a news about the shipment coming in from sir Sean in the US,” I informed him and he fully faced me since this has something to do about our organization.

“What is it?” he asked me again.

“There is an AI machine powered by a certain card that can be used in battles without sacrificing any men,” I explained.

“What did you tell Sean?” he asked me again.

“I said that we are certainly getting that product and he said that he will send it to us along with the naval laser that we requested from him,” I answered. He smiled a bit still keeping his still expression.

“As expected from you Kuro, you did a good job getting that AI Machine and tell Sean that this package will be sent in separate shipment, and don’t tell anyone just the two of us since there is a traitor running around freely in our territory,” he whispered to me.

I nodded and he pats my shoulder and I just stood there while he turns his back to me, and then moments later he once again turned to me.

“I forgot to ask,” he told me. “What is this card that can power that machine?” he asked.

“It’s called the GRX9090, a card powerful enough to simulate our surroundings giving the machine visions and it has the technology that can support the gun system inside it,” I answered and explained it to him at the same time.

“Is it included in the package?” he asked me again.

“It is sad for me to say sir, that the card is not available in mass production, there are only few that has been created successfully and there are currently four for sale in the borderlands,” I said to him.

“That is really a problem,” he scratched his chin with straight long white beard on it. “We can’t really cause havoc in that land just to get that card, it’s too risky for us,” he said and fortunately I had some news from John, enough to ease that problem away from him.

“Fortunately sir,” I suddenly said and he looks at me. “Rei is on that shop competing for that card,” I said and he became lively once again. I pulled out my phone from my pocket and unlocked it. I swiped through the screen to navigate the applications that has been installed to it. I click on a streaming app where I searched PCGG’s channel where they are currently livestreaming the competition. Great timing! It’s a match from Kuro, they are showing the highlights.

“Good news sir! Rei has advanced a round as of now,” I said to him and showed the live stream to him. He then suddenly pulled the phone out of my hand and he looks at it very carefully. I have never seen him so proud; he just doesn’t want to show it but he is a very affectionate father towards his son.

“That is really good news for us!” he said smiling. “Where can I watch this?” he asked me about the streaming platform. “Sorry for suddenly pulling the phone away from you,” he apologized and returned my phone to me.

“It’s okay sir, I understand,” I said to him reassuring him that he did nothing wrong to me.

“You can search it sir on a website called switch, just type on your browser’s search bar, switch.com and then search for PCGG’s channel and there it will direct you to their livestream now, there you can watch your son,” I said to him.

“Thank you,” he thanked me.

“Small thing sir,” I said to him humbly.

“Tell everyone to watch the livestream and support my son in this competition, this is a battlefield to him, besides that card will be a huge success for us if he wins that,” he commanded me and I just nod to him as a sign that I will do his bidding. He pulled out his phone from his pocket and he turns his back on me.

“I am happy that letting him get addicted in games during his youth is finally paying off,” he whispered to himself but enough for me to hear it all. I can’t help it but to release a chuckle because of that statement from him since I know Rei from his childhood, he is rarely getting out from his room, for a sole reason, finishing his newly bought game. Even his father can’t stop him from accomplishing it.

Since I know that he is suffering from a trauma, his father did not force him anymore to train hard to be a great leader after he passed the role to him when he is old. But that paid off when Kuro got his Sniper Rifle that he named Rose that has technology that will prevent him triggering his trauma in the battlefield. He became unstoppable in the battlefield. With his guns for the first time he became feared in the underworld, and he decided to pursue of being worthy as our leader when the time comes.

As his friend I need to help him overcome his trauma since John and I, are the only ones understands that thing from him. I know that it can be hard for sir Yamato as an only father, when his wife died due to an accident that caused Rei his trauma.

After sir Yamato disappeared in my line of sight, I broke my stillness and I look at my phone again and saw that the highlights are finished. I slid down my phone again down to my pocket once again to tell John and everyone to support Rei in his match.

I want to laugh at his expression after he wins that card, and just suddenly learn that we will be using it for a machine that we will use in the battlefield. I can finally see a priceless expression from him.

I am Kuro, in short for Kurosaki, and I am the trusted secretary of sir Yamato when it comes to technology since I finished a master’s degree in Tech Engineering in Japan and States. With all my knowledge in my head I assist him to get the finest technology that we can have from other countries and use it as an advantage to defend our territories or to destroy our enemies, especially now that we declared a war against them. I am afraid to say that I am still disappointed to myself after I failed that mission.

After a couple of moments, I finally reached John that is still focused on his notes, writing something, maybe the plan for the upcoming shipment at the end of the month. He is so focused like what he usually did. I sneaked behind him to surprise him because he does not expect me to shock him.

With my two fingers pointed at the both sides of his belly, I stabbed my fingers to him making him jump out of the chair. He looks at me very angrily.

“Hey!” he shouted at me. “What’s that for?” he asked.

“Sir told me,” I said and I can see from the looks of him that he does not believe that obvious lie that I just told him. I burst out of laughter. I can never get tired seeing him annoyed, he is so focused all the time making me want to tease him even more. HAHAHAHA.

“Liar,” he said cheaply and then he sat on the chair again ripping the paper away from his notebook.

“Sir told me that you watch the stream at PCGG in switch to support Rei,” I told him and he did not pay any attention to me anymore. Whatever, he heard me, and it’s time for me to inform the others about what the leader wants. I went straight to the room where a microphone is connected to all the speakers around our mansion. I pressed on the button which activates the microphone and then I stated the orders of sir Yamato and also the instructions how can they watch the stream.

After that I get out of the room to head outside just to have some fresh air. I don’t have any interests on virtual games, I prefer physical sports like basket ball, volley ball, and martial arts tournaments. It hits different just by seeing some intense real life action from them. Also I can pretty well do what they do.

I tried playing games that Rei usually plays, and then I suck at it. I don’t really like thinking much often and it’s hard for me to execute combos, even when Rei teach me about it. My mind cannot process it clearly so I gave up hope on it.

I like moving my body doing stunts that normal people can’t. I can feel much more joy from it. Then I saw my girlfriend outside waiting for me, I went straight to her.

“Hi Lory,” I greeted her and she looks at me immediately and I winked at her and posed like a model just to humor things out.

“What took you so long?” she asked me bothered. Well, I am sorry to keep you waiting for too long but I have much greater responsibilities.

“My job,” I cheaply said since I don’t like her meddling with my work, I only want is her attention and that only when there is just the of us here right now.
