Now, the match before us is almost over and they are playing a racing game where the one who finishes the 5 laps first will get to advance in the second bracket of this round. That was a close game and I will say that enjoyed watching them race.

SkyReaper, won the race and the crowd who is supporting her shouted in joy as their favorite player won the round. I took a deep breath as I prepare myself to fight this guy. We are currently In a lobby waiting for our turn to be broadcasted to the big screens.

“That was one hell of a race!” Cal shouted.

“You said it Cal!” Allan replied. “That was one hell of a race! Indeed, but you want to know what’s more interesting?” he asked his partner. Their voices ca be heard here in our position and since the games played in this round are not sensitive in information leaks like the battle royale earlier where info is the most crucial factor.

I think it’s okay if we can hear their voices besides, people cheering for me will motivate me to win games. Yes, I like the attention given to me, will play it pretty low key since boasting will produce hate from them. In this place I don’t have any power in any of them. I like the cheers of my name coming.

“What is more interesting?” he asked Allan enthusiastically. “Hey guys!” he called to the audiences. “Do you know what’s more interesting than that?” he asked the crowd.

“YES!” the crowd answered in unison.

“Well, I think I am the only one left behind here,” he said awkwardly, Allan and the audience laughed at him. “Just kidding,” he took back his words quickly. “Now one of the players favored by the crowd is coming to the big screens!” he announced and the cheers to the crowd become more chaotic. I like it! Keep it coming!

“Unbiased opinion, warfreak101, is badass in game and off game!” he said and that made me happy and they are really giving me a soft spot for them.

“Do you agree?” Cal asked the crowd.

“YES!” the crowd once again said in unison. Well I am so happy with that response from the crowd.

I raised my fist on the air and that made the crowd chaotic once more.

“Woah, we get to see her battle cry!” Cal said excitedly.

“Will we get to see another amazing fight from her?” Allan asked the audiences and the big screens went on and there a spectator joined our custom lobby. The game was streamed live in the big screens above. Time to show off. Speaking of showing off, I remembered Alexis on the other side. I am thinking how she is right now? I’m pretty sure that she is eliminated by this time.

That’s why I need to do my best right now, because I only got one shot of getting that card and if not, I will wait for a couple of years. My dad cannot threaten the developers of this card since they have the full protection of the world government and we literally don’t want to mess with them.

“Tokken 7 a famous battle simulator, and it’s franchise is well known across generations, many skilled players were witnessed to show glory virtually and now we demand to see yet another history in this game, do you agree with me folks!” he asked the crowd once again.

“YEAH!” they answered in unison.

“Do our lucky card WaifuLover69 will show us that he is worthy advancing in this round? OR warfreak101 will respond to our demand? This might seem bias but the game is not! We are here to see the best of the best worthy of that spectacular card,” he once again said that line.

“MATCH START!” Allan shouted and we are sent into character selection phase and we get to choose only one character and each character has their own combo set, that’s why choosing your main is the most logical thing to do. I have my eyes on one character.

“Woah WaifuLover69, is the first one to choose his character,” he announced and I can see what character he chose in my screen. “Let’s see, woah that is one of the most commonly picked character currently in the meta and I can confidently say that she is one of the strongest characters, Shuan Li!” he announced and as expected of his taste. He likes big chested girls and only a small cloth to cover her body. Not literally just a piece of cloth but most of her body like the legs and waist are revealed. But I have different play style than him, if he is confident that he chose the strongest meta fighter, I can still pick the same one but this will be boring fight.

I like to go off-meta you see, I selected the wooden character with a rounded boxing wooden fists with no face but with a nose like Pinocchio. He has wooden log body and the rest is pretty much the same, like a fighting dummy that’s been given life and identity. But his name is inspired by the main character of this game Shin, he is called Mokushin.

“What!?” both the announcers exclaimed in disbelief and I smiled.

“Who is that character?” he asked his partner Cal. They know about this character but they like to make it a gag since Mokushin is never seen played in competitions, since he has the hardest combo to master plus, he is weak.

“I don’t know the game must had updated yesterday,” he jokingly said and the crowd laughs.

“Seriously, does warfreak101 knows what she is doing?” Cal asked Allan.

“I don’t know Cal but we will see later on the fight and now we can see the smile of victory by WaifuLover69,” he said and I smiled, will he be able to keep that smile after the match and humiliated him in front of this crowd.

“We demanded for an incredible feat for us to witness and this might be the response of warfreak101 to our demand but who knows what will happen and ten seconds left for them to choose the character before the map randomizer begin its wheel, for us to determine where they will fight.

Ten, Nine, Eight, Seven, Six, Five, Four, Three, Two, One!

The map randomizer wheel starts to switch quickly with different pictures and until it slows down gradually. It stops on a picture of a beach. The Sheria Beach! Well, I don’t care what map, as long as we can fight, that is okay with us.

Prepare for the next battle!

We are taken to the loading screen where “Shuan Li vs Mokushin” is posted on the screen but the loading did not take long.

Our character spawned at the exact map and we can’t move from the moment we spawned on the map.

Prepare to Fight!

Round 1!

Start!

“That’s the cue of our players to start the battle and remember in every round there is only 60 seconds each so our contenders do not have much time left and this battle is race to three,” Cal said.

“That’s very wise for both parties,” Allan said. “Backing off, feeling the situation, they are both wary of each other’s plans and we can see that no one is underestimating their enemies, but can they fight till the time starts to tick out? Who will make the first move?” he added.

We are both pressing the guard button since if our balance is taken off by the enemy the chain combo will start and nothing will escape that unless the enemy is not skilled enough to keep up with the unbreakable chain combo.

Will I take the first move? I don’t want to lose this first round since it will build momentum for the enemy. This round is important to me since people like me can build momentum if I take the first victory.

Woah! That’s close, he almost got me there when he took the first move by executing a low sweep, that will break my guard. I jumped on time and he tried to punch me and I did a round kick to counter his character’s fist.

“Woah what a nice move by warfreak101 but that was close for WaifuLover69,” Allan said.

The time left is only 30 seconds and his health bar is full while mine was decreased by a little bit. I have no choice but to take the next move. As the announcers said earlier, our time in each round is not that much, so time is the essence here in this game. But if the round ended by time, the one who has more health will take the round which is not favorable to the other side.

He throws a guard breaker punch and he got too cocky in that move and I took advantage of the attack time lag, to do a low sweep that throw him off balance and this is what I’m talking about and my fingers became quick as I cannot let this chance to slip away in my hands.

While his character is in mid-air, I throw consecutive punches that kept his character midair and threw kicks that drained his health bar while mine still remain the same. Nice one!

But when his health bar is just one kick away, my fingers slip on the keyboard key, and he is quick enough to press the guard button to break my chain combo.

“Wow! That combo from warfreak101 is flawless!” I just noticed what the announcers are saying since my focus is centered on this match right now.

I low sweep again I was countered by his character’s axe kick that threw me off balance and he threw his combo at me but unfortunately for him, I guarded when he is about to throw a charging attack.

“Woah, WaifuLover69 sure likes to end this match fast,” Allan said and I threw the last punch that decided the first round.

“And warfreak101 took the first round!” Cal announced and the crowd cheered for my win.
