Chapter 79

Now that everyone is already here, dad stood up and greeted all of us.

“We shall start the meeting,” he said and unrolled another blueprint in the center of the table and this time this is not a blueprint of some place but the model of the weapons that we have smuggled.

I am surprised to see its models unfolded in front of us, and the other one is a machine that has jam pack weapons inside it. Rockets, grenades, bullets, there is no other that has it all except for the machine. It needs the graphics card because of the simulation. It is remote controlled then why need a GRX 9090, if you can use a 4k resolution camera, right?

I don’t know how both of these weapon’s work.

The large cannon that I saw is named C.E.F.C, that means Concentrated Energy Firing Cannon, and the machine is called M.A.C, that means Mechanical Armed Cyberweapon, well not a great way to name these things like that but I like the concept and design of this weapons.

“These my honored guests, are the weapons that we achieved in our recent successful missions,” he announced and they all clapped for father immediately, they should be clapping at me right now because I am the one that defended those weapons against the enemies.

“I am happy that we have these weapons on hand,” Kuro’s father said. “But I wonder what use we will benefit from all of this?” he asked.

“Wait for the answers that you are looking for,” father replied to him. “Now I wanted to congratulate my son and the others that contributed on the mission that made it possible to deliver the weapon in our hands,” he said and they clapped again. “John, tell them what these babies can do,” he said and John went to the front and dad took his seat and set himself aside to make room for John that will explain all of this to us right now.

“A pleasant morning to all of you,” he greeted us first before he pressed something on the remote that he is holding on right now. “Now, I shall introduce to you the first weapon that we shall discuss today,” he said. “M.A.C also known as the mechanical armed cyberweapon, as the text in the blue print say,” he introduced the weapon to us while showing a power point slide on the wall.

Yea, the weapon that stole my hard-earned card, well I did not expect, that dad will request that from me and the whole time during the competition, the only thing that runs on my mind that time is to play all the games that will come out that the card will only support.

To be exact, features that the card will only support, it is still playable with other cards but with those specific features turned on, the game will crash and will not run okay, so I need to accept that I will never get to experience those features once it comes out.

Well, the closest thing that I can do to experience all of it, is to watch some gaming vlogs from game streamers that managed to get the card and with only few of it successfully created in the whole world, maybe one of them will try to share the experience from the rest of the world.

I wonder why they can’t create more when in reality that will cause them to boom their profits. Maybe creating it, is too hard for them and costs so much money, but whatever is the reason, they should create more. I mean, people are willing to pay for that card, will they ignore it?

Lyn did not win the card from me so there is no use on asking her to stream her gameplay once those games come out. Come to think of it, Lyn might ask me to stream the game for her because I she knows that I have the card.

What shall I do? I might panic when she asked me to, and she may think that I am selfish because I cannot stream the gameplay for her, and she might think that I am a bad person that will lead for her to hate me.

“Oh, I don’t want any of it to happen.”

“Excuse me Rei, did you say something?” John asked me and I am surprised that he heard me.

“Ah nothing,” I replied.

“I thought I heard something from you,” he said and I just shake my head to say to him that I did not say anything that may concern him.

See! This is what I am talking about she boggles my mind that leads to me to say words that I should not say, I sighed and I tried to clear my mind to focus on the meeting. I missed so much information as I am so distracted from my thoughts towards the meeting.

What I remember is the easy terms, that the robot is filled with advance weapons and can be remote controlled and I don’t know who is in charge with that but I know that father has planned upgrades for it, that is why Enzo is here with us right now.

I did not hear it very well, what they talked about the upgrades, and John already mentioned my name and the GRX 9090, but I did not pay any attention to it,

“Now we will go and discuss the Concentrated Energy Firing Cannon, C.E.F.C in short is an advanced cannon that has the ability to fire concentrated energy, as the name suggests, that can cause mass destruction, and one hit from this cannon is almost equal to an atomic bomb,” he said.

Wooh that is very dangerous if you ask, me. I wonder what dad is planning to do with these weapons.

“It has a different fuel source and needs to accumulate energy from its surroundings making it more destructive, it is also mentioned that this weapon is more that capable turning solar energy as its main source of ammunition but any kind of energy, will do,” he added.

The fact that it can be used with less resources is more than fearsome enough and I wonder what is that specific fuel that it requires to run it.

Kuro’s father raised his hand once again.

“Sir, you may proceed,” John gave him the permission to ask.

“Thank you,” he showed his courtesy towards John. “From what he is saying, all I learn from these weapons that these are capable of mass destruction, am I correct?” he said and dude, he literally just says that. If I am in Kuro’s position right now, I will be extremely embarrassed.

“Yes, sir,” John politely asked his question.

“Then what are we planning with this “mass destruction” capability of these weapons, forgive me on saying this, but it is clearly trespassing the order that we have pledged to,” he remarked.

“I am clearly aware of that,” my father responded to him. “And I will say this just one more time, you will get your answers later, because John here is just explaining the capabilities of these weapons to all of you and he does not know what I am planning to do with these weapons,” he said seriously.

When I heard the tone of his voice, I straightened my back on my seat because father is genuinely annoyed right now, but looking on Kuro’s father face he is not fazed by any of it, I wonder how shameless Kuro’s father can be.

Because he is very shameless right now, and seeing Kuro’s face reacting on that makes me want to laugh but with dad annoyed right now, I don’t want to be the reason of his anger.

“Fully noted,” he said before he takes his seat again.

“Continue,” dad demanded.

“These weapons are still open for upgrades and Enzo here has plans to give it a major enhancement that will remove its flaw entirely,” he added. “Also, the weapon is remote controlled and its system can be accessed through a control room. “These came from the U.S itself and one of the master’s associates decided to send the weapon here upon his request,” he added.

I wonder what country does the machine came from. I am just wondering right now.

“That will be all, thank you,” he said and then he puts down the remote on the table and father stood up from his seat and all of us behaved and he is staring towards Kuro’s father right now.

“Now this is the time that I will answer all of your questions,” he told him and Kuro’s father just nodded casually towards father.

I am now starting to think that Kuro’s father is immune towards Father’s intimidation. I would like to know how he can do that.

“The weapon was sent to us by the government itself,” he revealed. “Well without the entire government fully knowing that it was sent to us, but with help of my close friends they entrusted me with these weapons, and don’t worry we will not abandon our oath,” he said answering one of Kuro’s father questions. “The weapons are planned to be hidden in here right beneath us and I am not planning on using it,” father added.

“Then why upgrade it when we are concealing its existence from the rest of the world?” this time Juno is the one that asked.

“Great question,” father said. “In a distant future that we cannot perceive there is a time that the weapon will be handy for us,” he answered.

“Thank you,” Juno said and he take his seat again.

“Now, that the weapon is here with us, we must be prepared from the imminent treats that will come to us,” dad said seriously.
