Chapter Eleven
Audrey remained at the table, glancing in the direction of her brother a few times. He seemed to be enjoying himself.
Merrick rejoined her at the table, leaving the knights by the front door. “It seems that one of my knights managed to take my niece to safety. Only my sister is missing.”
“Do they know where she is?” She placed her cutlery on the empty plate.
Merrick shook his head. “We’ll keep looking until we find her.” He glanced in the direction of the knights who remained by the front door. “They came to collect us. We can stay at my parents’ estate this evening if you wish. Or, if you feel like you’ve already travelled enough for the day, we can remain here.”
