Chapter 14: Starting Over

''Why? Is there a problem?'' I immediately went to her and hugged her.

''No, I am just scared'' She hugged me back and she was trembling. I didn't know how long we hugged each other but she suddenly let go and she is blushing right now. ''Ahmm, I'm sorry...'' I came to my senses and realized that I had hugged her. Kyo! Why did you do that?! ''No, I am the one who said sorry. Anyways, I will stay here until you sleep. Don't worry.'' I helped her to go to her bed and put a blanket on her. She just nodded, I was looking at her and suddenly I remembered again that I had hugged her. I shake my head. I looked at her face and she seemed tired, exhausted from everything.

''Do you mind if I tell you everything? I needed someone to talk to.'' She said I just nodded. '' I'll listen.'' I said.

''Actually I am scared of being left alone. And I realized that for the past years of my existence that I have been alone. This is my first time that I have been scared.'' She said. I am just looking at her, listening to what she is saying. I didn't know that behind those smiles that I see her in school, the Annie that I see now is the same.

''I was a child when my parents died. Up until now, I did't know about their deaths. I've been asking myself what the problem is with me and everything around me is leaving me. I thought I was fine being alone. After my birthday, I decided to live on my own. I am now living in my apartment, trying to move on with everything. I told myself that life must go on.'' I didn't expect that she had no parents now. ''I was really fine, accepted alone, because I accepted the fact that this is what my life is, but suddenly, after what happened earlier, my life snapped.''

''Is that what Lovely is telling me about? She said before she left, it must protect you.'' Now, It's getting clear. I understand everything.

''Yes, it's such a small world. I saved your sister and she saved me. And then I realized that I am still a lucky one. After the dark events that happened to me, I still have someone who can be there when I need them. I am thankful to you and your family.'' She said. I just smile

''Now I am scared not because of my life but also of the people who surround me. I am scared that all of you might be involved in my messy life...'' She started crying and I didn't know how to comfort a woman, but I hugged her again. ''I am scared that someone will die because of me again. I am scared of myself because I think I am cursed in this world. I didn't know why. I've been questioning everything about myself I did to be in this situation. I am really tired of everything.'' I combed her hair and silently listened to her. ''Shhh Annie, you know what, I am proud of you for handling these things. You said that you were just a child when you lost your parents and I commend you on being the most brave person I know. I can't imagine what you've been through but I can see that you are still here fighting for your life. Maybe you have the reason why all of this happened to you.''

She fell asleep while I was talking. I smiled, such a peaceful woman. I gently put her head on the bed and put her blanket on. Now I am scared that someday I will fall for this girl. I didn't know what I'd been thinking, but I kissed her forehead before I left her.

SOMEONE'S P.O.V

''Boss, she didn''t go home. What will I do?'' I call my boss. The store where I am waiting is going to be closed and she is still not at home.

''Come back tomorrow and find the woman that will help her. Give me her details. I will double the money.''

''Noted boss'' I put my money on the table and left. Now I need to find this woman. The boss is really investing in this woman. I wonder why.

ANNIE'S P.O.V

I woke up in an unfamiliar room and then suddenly I remembered everything that happened last night. I think all of my blood is in my face right now. What just happened? Did I really have physical contact with Kyo last night?

''Annie, come down. Let's eat'' I suddenly snapped when I heard Kyo's voice. How should I go out and show him my face because I can't? I didn't answer and waited for him to leave. After how many minutes, I think it's enough. I need to go down.

''Oh God! Kyo!'' When I opened the door, Kyo was still in there.He was shocked at the moment, we were both shocked at what happened. I thought he had left!

''I'm sorry. I was worried about what happened to you because you were not answering. I was going to open the door. It's late in the morning and you are still not awake. My moms are worried now.'' H said while scratching his hair while explaining. I smiled.

''I'm fine Kyo, thank you!'' After I said that he was looking at me and then turned his back. ''I think you need to go first to the bathroom first, we'll wait for you.'' He rushed down after he said that. Out of curiosity, I immediately ran towards the bathroom. What the f, Annie? I am not wearing a bra and I have messy hair and swollen eyes. I wash up first before I go down. After that, I looked in my mirror. What's up with me? Why do I need to be conscious of how I look? I went down and they were all in the dining area. I'm so shy because I am the only one they are waiting for.

''How was your sleep Annie?'' Lovely said, smiling at me.

''It's fine, lovely, thank you!'' I sat next to her. In front of me is Kyo and in front of Lovely is Tita Lara and Tita Avida is in the center chair.

''No worries. Let's eat'' I silently eat and they are just having a conversation. What a cute family...

''It's good to hear that you have a peaceful sleep Annie'' Tita Avida said. ''Yes Tita'' I was going to tell you that, thanks to Kyo, I slept peacefully last night. All the thoughts that I have were released because I talked to him but I shouldn't since they were going to tease us. I look at Kyo and I think he is waiting for me to say it, but I avoid his look.

''Thank you for the food, Tita Avida and Tita Lara. Thank you also to you Lovely and Kyo. But I need to go home now.'' I said after I ate. I know it's rude to go home after eating, but I think I need to, so it's so great that I will still stay here.

''Why don't you consider what my offer to you, Annie,'' Lovely said. I remember that she was asking me to live here so that she can protect me, but I still wanted to think about it because it's really too much.

''I will go to think about it, lovely, but thank you for suggesting it.'' I said. ''We will wait for your decision darling. You are a good child, and it is okay for us that you will come to stay here. You are not new to us. Just think about it.'' Tita Lara said.

''Yes Tita, I will think about it. For now I need to get home. Thank you so much!'' I said and got my things. I was going out with Lovely when suddenly Kyo ran towards us. '' I will drive you home Annie if that 's okay with you.'' Kyo said and Lovely smiled ''Annie let Kyo drive you home. I need to go to my office right now. Take care, okay? Don't hesitate to call me, think about what my offer'' I just nod. We went to his car and he opened the car door for me. ''Thank you Kyo'' The whole trip was silence. I don't know what to say after last night. I've been regretting it since it's our first time getting close to it. I didn't even realize that. I was looking at my phone while he drove. I received lots of messages from Jenlyn and Zyreel asking me how I was. I didn't receive any message from Gill. How is he? I reply to all of their messages telling them that I am fine. Afterwards, Kyo didn't speak. We are now here in my apartment. He was looking all from right to left as we dropped here. And he looked so serious at everything ''Kyo, I will be fine.'' I said. I think he is looking to see if my place is safe. He just nodded and he didn't speak after I said that. I smiled and went inside my apartment. I looked out the window and he was still looking at my apartment and the surroundings. I smiled while watching him. I didn't expect that I would see this kind of Kyo. I thought he was a snob. I decided to go to the bathroom and take a bath since I feel tired right now. I need to wash all of this.
