For money, I married a rich old man. He may have wealth, but he's old, all ambition and no ability.

Not only is his passion short-lived, barely three minutes of enthusiasm, but he also needs me to put on a full performance to keep up appearances.

A wealthy woman in my social circle noticed how bored I was. She strongly urged me to come learn horseback riding at her equestrian club.

I thought it was just ordinary riding lessons until I saw the women on horseback, each one having the time of her life. Only then did I realize this equestrian club was anything but ordinary.

Chapter 1
My name is Vivienne Hartley, and I had just graduated from the prestigious Whitmore Academy of Film & Dramatic Arts. Unfortunately, my family had neither connections nor influence, and our finances were modest at best. My parents couldn't open any doors for me, and after exhausting every bit part and background role the major productions had to offer, I still hadn't landed a single real part. My savings had hit rock bottom, and I was barely scraping together enough for rent. That was when I met my benefactor. He was fifty years old. He made me an offer, spent money on me without a second thought, and before long I had given in entirely and married him. Gerald Hartley was extraordinarily wealthy. He was just a little older, and his body wasn't quite what it used to be. Even faced with my youth and everything that came with it, he often found himself falling short. No matter what I tried in bed, he could only manage a few minutes with his hands on my waist before giving out. Afterward, I never dared say a word of complaint. I would put on a satisfied smile and tell him how wonderful he was. I lived like that for over two years. Years of suppressing my own desires had left my body almost unbearably sensitive. Sometimes, just riding in the car with Gerald, if one of the bodyguards accidentally brushed against me, I would feel a strange flutter I couldn't quite explain. Despite the disappointments of our marriage, I never once entertained any other thoughts. I hadn't even bought any personal pleasure devices. After all, life with Gerald had transformed my family's circumstances beyond recognition. Desire was a small price to pay compared to financial security. As for straying, I wouldn't even let myself look at another man for too long. The thought of Gerald casting me aside was enough to keep me in line.
