When Emery stopped by her parents’ house to pick up a few things following the Meetup, she wasn’t sure if her mother was more upset about her returning with Lina or the fact that she was leaving again with Lina. Emery’d had no real choice but to agree to the crazy scheme, given Lina had nowhere to go. Fortunately she’d gotten a message earlier in the day that her car would be ready for pick-up the next day. So she just had to work out a plan with her mom for exchanging vehicles. The timing couldn’t be more perfect.
