CRYSTAL POV All I see is darkness around me but I feel weird. Have you ever had the dream of you falling and just as you are about to hit the ground you wake up, well this feels like that only backwards. Floating in complete darkness without any sense of direction or knowing where you are going. “Follow the pull. Don’t fight it my child.” The voice of a woman echoes around me. This cuts off my train of thought but what is that supposed to mean? Where is that voice coming from? This is the weirdest dream ever. I got this warm feeling going through my hand and through my body that is trying to pull me towards something. Is that what the voice meant? I don't know if I should trust it but what have I got to lose. So I did what the voice told me to do. After an unknown amount of time I start to get my senses back one at a time. First my hearing comes back, followed by smell. The smell that floats around the room gave me a sense of safety. I try and open my eyes to see where the smell is coming from but my eyes they feel like they are glued shut. I finally got them work after a while. After blink a couple of times I get them to adjust to the brightness and I manage to keep them open. I looked to my surroundings to see if I can decipher where I was. I saw things that resembled that of medical equipment. Was this a hospital room? Was I in the hospital? Did something happen to me? Looking to my left I see somebody with their head resting on the side of the bed holding my hand. I came to the conclusion that it was a male because of the short haircut. But I didn't know who this man could be. I tried to remove my hand from his causing little pinprick shocks to travel up my arm. I let out a audible gasp evidently waking the person. His head snapped up and off of the bed in the matter of seconds and his eyes lands on me. My eyes met that of his green eyes and I was lost. Those green eyes seem to be staring through me into the depths of my soul. I felt like they were holding me captive. It wasn't fear that made me keep looking into them. It was rather like a part of my soul demanded me to do it. “Hey you’re awake. How do you feel? Are you in pain? Should I call the nurse?” the person asks me. His voice was deep and raspy. It was soothing and it took me a minute to realise it asked me a question. “Uhm. My head hurts and the room feel like its spinning but I feel fine. What happened? And who are you do I know you?” I say to the person feeling slightly awkward. He seems to know me but I don’t know him. “Uhm. I’m Kellan I brought you here…. What is the last thing you remember?” I sit back and scan my brain trying my best to remember. I remember waking up getting ready and then walking to school past the forest that gave me weird feeling and then nothing. I come up blank. I don’t know how I end up her or why I’m even here. “I remember going to school but nothing about how I end up here.” He hums in acknowledgment before looking at me again. He seems nervous for some reason because he is scratching the back of his head before responding. “You had an altercation with a girl before you got dizzy and blacked out. I caught you in time before you could have done anymore damage hitting you head on the floor. I brought you here and the nurse said you have a concoction. We are still at school. You were out for 3 hours total. She also said that you need to take some tablets for the headaches and that you have to rest for the next week or so and take it easy.” he answered but I feel as like he has left out some stuff in his explanation. Like he didn't want me know something. I was about to question him on that when a woman entered the room with a white coat. She must be the school nurse if I'm still at school. “Hey Crystal I’m Zoey do you mind if I take quick look at you again before you go home?” I smile at her and nod my head. She walked over to the other side of my bed and took my pulse before shining a light into my eyes. She wrote on a piece of paper and then cleared her throat. “I’m gonna let you go home now but you got to take it easy for the next week. Take the pain meds every 3 hours after eating and rest, get plenty of rest. The dizziness is a result of quick movements so take it slow. If you have any questions, symptoms- please call me or go see a doctor. You are excuse from classes for the next week. All the teachers will be informed by the end of the day and I’m sure Kellan will be able to bring your work to you so you don't fall behind. We did call your mom and she knows that you are okay and that it’s only a concoction.” She must have seen me freak out but she continued. “Don’t worry we gave her all the details about the accident and calmed her down. I told her that Kellan will take you home and stay with you till she gets home.” She reassured me before leaving again. I’m left with this Greek god of a man sitting next to me in an awkward silence. The silence was short lived as he cleared his throat drawing my attention to him. “Hey crystal do you need anything in your locker before we go?” he asks. His hand was rubbing circles on mine making me look down at it rather than him. In a timid voice I answered him. “No, I’m fine I can just walk home no need to take me or babysit me. It’s only a 20min walk.” “Crystal your head is messed up at the moment, your balance is whack and you can get a dizzy spell or blackout and who is gonna be there to catch you. You can hurt yourself more in the proses!” he yelled. It made me flinched at his outburst. “I’m sorry Babe I didn’t mean that I just don’t want you to get hurt more than you already are. I was suppose to keep you safe and I failed miserably. Please let me give you a ride home. I just want to make sure you get home in one piece. And besides they already told your mom I will be talking you home, or do you want to make them seem like they lied to you mother?” I looked into his eyes and can’t help but melt into them. But did I just hear him call me babe or are my head more messed up than I thought. And why did he think he was responsible for my safety? I nod my head and whisper a small okay before swinging my legs over the edge and standing up. I guess I did it too quickly because I had to grab the bed to stabilize myself. “I got you okay. That is why I can’t let you go home alone?” He says before come to my side and putting his arms around my waist to help me. We walk out the nurse’s office and a girl comes and gives him my bag that he puts over his shoulder before heading out the front doors of the school over to the parking lot. We came to a standstill next to a car and my eyes almost popped out of my head. This is the most expensive car I have ever seen in my life. “Is this your car?” I asked. “Yes it’s my favourite and I drive it most of the time.” I only nod my head at the new found information he has given me. He puts my bag in the back before helping me into the passenger seat and buckling me in. He then walks over to his side of the car before sliding in gracefully and starting the ignition. The car purrs to life and it gives me goose bumps everywhere. “Where to?” he asks. “The black apartments on 42 avenue. Do you know where they are?” “Yes I know exactly where they are.” He replies and pulls out of the parking lot heading to my apartment building. We were driving for a few minutes, when I had the sudden urge to throw up, “pull the car over" I yelled. He did and I made my way to the side of the road. Throw everything in my stomach up. Kellan was quickly at my side rubbing circles on my back and holding my hair back. "I think you should go to the ER to make sure you are okay?" He helps me back to the passenger side and in the car. He is right but that is money we don't have. A trip like that will surely cost a few hundred dollars that can be spend on something much more important. "I'm fine. It will pass. I'm just going to lay down when I get home and it will pass. The sway and the motion of the car is the reason why I thrown up. I do tend to get motion sickness. I usually drink something beforehand when taking a trip in a car to help me." "Okay but I'm going to make sure you are okay and get food into you." At mention of food my stomach rumbles. He chuckled and went back to his side before resuming driving. “It’s good to see you still have an appetite.” At that statement I blush a few shades darker than that of a ripe tomato, making me turn my head looking out the window to hide it from him. This got to be the most embracing thing to happen to me. When we arrived at my apartment he parked the car and came to my side helping me out and up the stairs to my front door. The whole way there he had a strong grip on me making sure I don’t go breaking my neck on the stairs. I quickly got my keys and unlock the door before stepping in with him following me before closing the door. "Go lay down on the Couch and I will make you something to drink to help with the nausea." he says before going into my kitchen. Kicking of my shoes I take the quilt and wrap it around my body before taking a seat on the couch. My head is spinning so I lay back and close my eyes. I can hear him moving around in the distance of my kitchen; probably searching for whatever he needs to make the drink he spoke of. But the darkness I was in before started to pull me in again and I couldn’t fight it even if I wanted it.
