Kellan
After getting my composure back, I handed her the pass, excusing me for being late. She reads it quickly before dismissing me to take a seat. I made my way over to one of the seats that was open next to her. The closer I get to her, the more intoxicating the smell gets. The scent seemed to be coming from her. Taking the seat quickly next to her, not once looking away from her, but she had not looked up from her book once. She seems not to notice my presence like the rest of my pack, so she must be human. I wonder if anybody else is able to smell this as well. I decided to send a quick link to Nick, “Hey dude, do you also smell cherries and cinnamon in here?”
“No, I don’t smell anything like that.” he replies. Well, that wasn't the answer I was looking for. I put my nose to work and started smelling the air, trying to pin point where the smell was coming from. I turned my head slowly from one side to the other, letting the air carry the smell. It was a dumfounded moment when I came to a stop and was staring at her. The smell was coming off of her.
“Hey. I’m Kellan. Are you new here?” I whispered to her. No reply. Not a glance. Nothing. Before I could analyse what everything meant, I got snapped back to class by Ms Jeffins's voice ringing through class.
“Mr. Kellan. Would you so gladly focus your attention on what I’m teaching you? This is your last warning after being late and then not paying attention in class. Got it?”
“Sorry Ms. Jefins. It won’t happen again.” I replied, being caught red-handed. I do need to tread lightly from now on. She is famous for giving detentions. I don’t have the time for that.
“Good. Crystal, would you like to do the honours by showing them how to do this equation I have on the board? You did it in your previous school if I’m correct? “ The sound of a chair scraping on the tile floor caught my attention. The girl that has captivated my attention is now standing up and heading towards the front. I watch her every move as she makes her way to the board. I’m able to get a better view of her now. And I can’t help but admire her body and the outline of her curvy figure showing through her clothes. My eyes travel up and down her body but land on her ass. The way they sway in the slightest way, side-to-side, is sending a jolt of pleasure to my c**k, forming a tent in my pants. I had to shift in my seat to re-adjust my c**k. That is a first for me. Turned on by something as simple as somebody just walking. I watch as she picks up the chalk with her small hand and begins doing the equation. The way her hand holds it has me imagine how her hand would feel wrapped around my c**k. In no time, she had completed it and had the answer. She seems to be quite clever.
“That’s correct, Crystal. You may take your seat again. I expect everyone to pay attention because this will be in the test tomorrow?” Ms. Jefins says. She turns back and my eyes meet hers and my world unravels. Everything makes sense now. The smell, my wolf acting strange. She's my mate.
I couldn't help it as I marveled at the beauty that she is. As she walked back to her seat, Stacy, one of my pack members, stopped her. She is known for getting around in the pack.
“Miss goody-goody newbie moves here and only gets praised by the teachers. There is no way she is this good. You got to be sleeping around to be able to get all the good marks you get? I will not stand for this slut getting all the praise and credit without putting in the effort everyone else is putting in.” The words that left her mouth made my blood boil in my veins. The disgust that crossed my mate's face was evident but short-lived before she straightened her spine and looked Stacy head on.
“I know it is easy to judge me coming from somebody with experience. But I hate to burst your bubble. I do not open my legs to every walking d**k that so much as glance in my direction. I might see where you might come from with you having to do that to get an average of a b-. But I do not need to spread my legs for any of my grades. I put the work in to get my grades. I don’t need you to believe me or anything, but you might want to get your facts straight. I did hear about a rumour of a specific student being caught in the back seat of Mr. Randolph’s car. Something about photographic proof that may or may not exist. I would hate for that to come out, don’t you?” By the end of my little mate's speech, Stacy was blazing mad. Everyone's attention was on this little scene playing out.
Crystal made a move to walk past her to her seat but was quickly stopped as Stacy slapped her. This is getting out of hand. Crystal turns her face back to stare straight at Stacy. There is a little bit of blood dripping down Crystal's lip at this point.
“How dare you?” Stacy spits out with so much venom laced in those three words.
“No sweetie, the truth only hurts when it’s true.” Stacy makes an attempt to slap her again but Crystal catches her hand, shocking Stacy. She has some quick reflexes to grasp Stacy’s hand like that; most humans have a hard time doing this because our movements are quite quick. When the shock passes, she jerks her hand out of my mate's grip. Crystal turns and walks back to her seat but I see Stacy charging her way. “b***h” She yells as she makes a move to go after her. Before she can do anything, my little mate turns back and throws a punch, connecting with Stacy’s face. The sickening cracking sound is heard echoing through the room, which is an unmistakable sound signalling something was broken. Stacy staggered a few feet back, putting her hand to her nose, wiping the blood with the back of her hand. She stares at it and her body begins to vibrate with her fury and her breathing picks up. This is not good. Her wolf is pushing for control, she going to shift if not put to a stop soon. This will be bad if she outs our secret. “STAND DOWN!” I roared in the link using my alpha tone, but my anger is just as prominent in that command. She will obey the command or be forced to become a rogue.
“That’s enough! Stacy to the principal’s office this behaviour is unacceptable. I will not stand for bulling.” Ms Jefins yells. But Stacy, being Stacy, had the audacity to answer back to the teacher.
“But she provoked me and she hit me as well. Why doesn’t she get sent to the principal too? Is she sleeping with the principal as well?” She just doesn’t know when to shut up, does she?
“Stacy, that is quite enough! You have the audacity to even act innocent and question my judgement? You not only insulted me, the other teachers and your fellow student by slapping her. Even after the student showed you not an ounce of fighting back, you charged her with attempting to do damage while her back is turned to you. You literally went after her looking for a fight! Now do you want to add defiance to the list of offences?” Stacy storms out the class, slamming the door on her way out.
“Crystal, are you okay? Do you want to go to the nurse’s office?” Ms. Jefins asks. She stagers a bit and grabbed onto a desk. “I only feel a little lightheaded but I’m alright. I’m just going to sit for a bit.” She resumes walking but my wolf pipes up in my head, “Mate is hurt go to her now!” He didn’t even get the chance to really complete what he was saying when her legs buckled under her and in slow motion she is falling to the ground. I reached her just in time to catch her head before it hit the ground.
“Crystal, can you hear me?” Ms. Jefins asks, getting no response.
"Crystal open your eyes.” I tried waking her up on my part, only to get the same results. She is out cold. Damn, she is human, even if it were just a slap. Stacy is a werewolf with werewolf strength much superior to that of hers.
“Kellan, take her to the nurses office to get a check out. I will tell the teachers what happened and I will send your stuff and hers to the office. Now go.” Ms Jefins instructs me. I scooped her up bridal style and rushed down the hall to the nurse’s office.
Please be okay? I beg the Moon Goddess. Her breathing is at a normal pace and her heart is beating steadily. Thank god for super hearing. It helps to reassure me and my wolf somewhat, but not enough. The thought of my mate’s lifeless body in my arms doesn’t sit well with me, even if I know she is still alive for a fact. It’s just I can’t bear to lose my mate not when I haven’t had the chance to get to know her and love her unconditionally. One thing for sure is that Stacy will pay for what she did to my mate, one way or another, that is for sure. I barged into the nurses office making Zoey jump, being startled by the sudden intrusion, but recovered quickly. “Alpha, what happened to her?” she acknowledged before rushing to me. She is one of our pack doctors. We had to have someone from the pack here that had knowledge of werewolves and would not freak out when a wound will heal over before their eyes. “She passed out after complaining about feeling dizzy. She had an altercation with Stacy from our pack and Stacy slapped her in the face. Please make sure she is okay and that she gets all the medical attention she needs. If, by any means, you need more professional help, please call the pack doctor out to help you. She is very important to me.” I feel useless at this moment.
“Place her on the bed and I will start to run some tests on her. I promise I will take good care of your mate, Alpha.” Soon she started to run around taking out medical equipment before moving to my mate. “How did you know she was my mate?” I had to ask. I had just found out she was my mate a few minutes ago.
“Oo, sorry. I can see the way you look at her young alpha. The love in your eyes, it’s the same love I see in my mate’s eyes and the fact that you just called her very important to you. I know she is human and you wouldn’t give any human the kind of attention you are giving her. So I assume she is your mate and our future Luna.” If she had only seen me a few seconds and had already made this conclusion, then surely the class knows that she is my mate and their Luna. Surely it is not that visible, I hope, and if so, then the news will reach my parents soon. Placing her hand into mine, I relaxed at the sensation of the sparks that it emitted at the contact of our skin.
“Okay, alpha, it seems that she might have a concoction. She will have headaches and dizzy spells for the next week. She will have to take pain medicine once she wakes up. She will have to take plenty of rest and make sure she takes it easy so she can heal. I would also suggest that she stays home for about a week.” Zoey informs me.
“Thank you Zoey. I will make sure she gets home and rests after she eats something before taking her medicine.”
“I am going to go and make a quick phone call to her mother and inform the principal so he can let her teachers know that she is going home and that she has to stay home for the next week to heal.”
