CHAPTER ONE: SENTIMENTAL FEELINGS
GENNY'S ROOM
Genny lay on her bed, exhausted. Her hair scattered around her shoulders, and her room was a mess. The door creaked open, and her younger brother Berry burst in. He jumped over her belongings on the floor and reached her bed, giving her a gentle knock on the head.
"Wake up, sleepyhead! It's seven o'clock!" Berry exclaimed.
Genny groggily grabbed a pillow and buried her face in it. Berry's voice still echoed in her head, even after she lifted the pillow. She wriggled her body on the bed, kicking her legs in the air. When Berry wouldn't stop, she sprang up forcefully.
"Berry!" she shouted, and he stopped singing immediately.
"Was that singing or noise-making?" Genny teased, chuckling.
"I thought you'd sleep all day," Berry said, dropping the basket he was holding on a table. "Thanks for helping me clean my stuff."
"You're always welcome. You should try keeping things tidy too," Berry replied, sounding like an old man beyond his eight years.
Genny chuckled, pulling the duvet away from her body. "Take your bath quickly, or you'll be late for school. I'm already prepared to leave. I love you, sis."
Berry rushed out as soon as he heard the school bus honking. Genny got out of bed, arranging her scattered hair. "Always romantic," she whispered to herself before entering the bathroom.

HOWARD'S MANSION
The stunning Howard mansion stood proudly in Seattle, Washington. Its glass windows and paintings gave it a glorious appearance, outshining the surrounding buildings. Jimmy walked down the stairs, dressed in denim jeans and a jacket, his expensive shoes gleaming.
"Good morning, young master," the maids greeted him, bowing their heads.
Jimmy smiled eternally, his reply to their greetings. He entered the kitchen, grabbed a bottle of juice, and drank half of it before leaving the rest on the dining table.
"All set?" his sister Emerald asked, coming down the stairs in her nightie, her eyes fixed on her phone.
Jimmy hissed and turned to leave. "Beware of cars and women!" Emerald shouted behind him, and Jimmy stopped in his tracks.
"Women like you?" he asked nastily before leaving the house.
Emerald turned to leave but bumped into someone. She gasped, covering her mouth with her hand. "Mom..."
Miss Lilly snatched the phone from her. "Go to your room and get ready for school. I'm driving. Or you'll be grounded for a week."
"Why you? Did you sack the driver?" Emerald asked, turning her neck.
"Shut up and do as I say," Miss Lilly half-yelled. Despite their wealth, she tried to instill discipline in her children, but their father always spoiled them.
"High school sucks!" Emerald shouted, stomping up the stairs.

PEACE COLLEGE
The school compound bustled with students, mostly children of millionaires and billionaires. Genny walked with her friend Anabel, heading to the locker room to grab some books. They found Jimmy there, and he greeted them with a wave.
"Hi," Anabel replied, her cheeks flushing red.
"Genny, can I talk to you?" Jimmy asked, his hands in his pockets.
Genny looked at Anabel, who gestured for her to go ahead. Jimmy smiled, his eyes sincere.
"I'm sorry if I have ever done something bad without knowing, or hurt you accidentally. I just can't figure out, we barely know each other. But still, am sorry" he said, his tone genuine.
Genny's phone rang, and she answered immediately. After a brief conversation, she hung up and looked at Jimmy with disgust.
"Keep your apology to yourself. I'm not interested in you or your fake apologies. Never show yourself before me again. I have something important to attend to."
She stormed out of the room, leaving Jimmy looking crestfallen. "Bye, Jimmy," Anabel said softly, following Genny.
Jimmy rushed to a locker, banging his hand on it. "What have I done wrong?" he cried out loud.
A message popped up on his phone, and he read it before leaving quickly. He walked briskly to his Rolls-Royce, pressed a button on the key, and the car beeped. He entered the car, started the engine, and drove out of the school.

J.H. COMPANY
The company buzzed with busy workers. Genny walked towards a woman's table, her heels clicking on the tiled floor.
"Good afternoon, ma'am. I'm so sorry I'm late; I got stuck in a traffic jam," Genny explained, breathing heavily.
"Good afternoon, lady. How may I assist you?" the secretary asked, adjusting her glasses as she looked through a file.
"I applied for the part-time job and received a call to come in for an interview," Genny explained further.
"I apologize, but you missed the interview, and I'm not sure if there are any vacancies left," the secretary replied, returning her eyes to the file.
"Please, ma'am, is there no other option? My academics depend on this job. Please," Genny pleaded, tears welling up in her eyes.
"You'll have to meet the CEO," the secretary said, her expression softening.
"Can we do that now?" Genny asked, wiping her eyes.
"Just a moment," the secretary said, picking up the phone. She made a quick call and stood up. "Come with me."
Genny followed her to a nearby door, and the secretary knocked gently. "Come in," a voice said from within. The secretary opened the door, revealing Jimmy sitting comfortably in a swivel chair. Genny's jaw dropped, and sentimental feelings washed over her.
