Blanche was astounded when she learned that a simple and little girl like him would stitch her wounds like a professional doctor, "She did all of this?" She asked as she examined her own bandages.
Dean can help but laugh at her genuine reaction, "Yes sister she did that." He replied, and her confused countenance was enough for Dean to explain. "I've known her for years, and I can see that she's genuinely fascinated with manual healing without any use of magic. She learned all of that just by reading."
Blunch couldn't believe that a small girl like her would master something like this at a very young age. "You guys are amazing," she smiled at him.
"You are way more amazing, sister. I didn't realize that you have a power, magic." He spoke. "Why did you find that from us?"
Blunch groaned as she leaned on the trunk of the tree behind her, "It's not like I want to hide it from you. It's just that I think that you will be in danger if you know that I have a magic and besides I didn't even want this."
"What do you mean you didn't want this, having magic is so cool!"
"Yeah, magic is cool if it's in you since you were born, not from someone who will just randomly pick you because they see you as special or something."
"So, you mean you didn't have any magic when you were a kid?" he asked curiously.
"Yeah something like that."
"Then how did you get those powers?"
"It's a long story and a dark one I must say so I don't want to tell you something so cruel."
"It's fine sister, I don't want to force you but I must tell you as well that after what we have witnessed do you think there's more cruel than this?" He sent her a smirk.
"I know, I know… I will tell you when the time is right." She gave him a simple smile. "Now why don't you go and take a nap? I will take over your post."
"No, I don't want a wounded lady to take over my post. It's my pride that's in the line." He stubbornly huffed. "So just lay there and I will take care of everything." His latter statement was followed by a yawn.
"See you're sleepy so now get in your blanket and get some sleep." Blanche retorted back to which the kid didn't have any say because he already fell asleep.
The sun has finally risen and the children one by one wake up again. Mildred felt the warm ray of sun on her face, which caused her to immediately snap her eyes open, "Oh my god it is already morning, where's Dean?" Her panic immediately subsided when she saw Dean sleeping peacefully just beside her. She let out a sigh of relief but then she immediately snapped out when she realized that the lookout was sleeping.
Once again her panic died down when she heard a familiar voice, "Mildred, how was your sleep?"
"Sister! You're already awake." She exclaimed out loud resulting in some of them to wake up. "Oops sorry about that guys." Seal of sheepishly.
"It's fine." Ladi and Choi responded as they rubbed their eyes trying to pry away the sleepiness. Soon their sleepiness flies from their bodies when they realize that the wounded woman that night is already smiling and good to go. "Sister, good thing you're alright."
"Yes and thank you to all of you, especially you Kim. I would like to thank you for saving me." She genuinely thanked the child, to which the child only responded with a small happy nod. "But for real guys we should get out of here. This forest is dangerous in the evening but it is more dangerous in the morning because beasts are lurking around to get their hunts."
"But sister, where are we going from here? We have managed to escape from the orphanage but there's nothing out there, just a bunch of deadly animals." Ali asked with fear evident on her face, and she earned various responses of acknowledgement.
"Wait where's, Nunna?" That question brought silence to all of them but in their eyes they are all wanting to know the truth. This brought Blanche unwanted memories from last night.
"Yeah, where is she? She said she will be here with us."
Blanche lowered her gaze for she couldn't bear to look at their faces however she knew that she was bound to tell them the whole truth. She opened her mouth but no sound came out.
"Sister Blanche?"
"I'm sorry but I didn't make it in time." She apologized with that mere sentence. They knew it well, some of them began crying at the moment but she didn't expect the oldest four to remain stoic, none of them even shed a tear and they held their heads up.
"Let's go, let's get out of here." Mildred spoke which earned her a firm nod from the two other boys.
Blanche was confused on why they were doing this because as far she knows they will mourn for her death. The three children can tell that, so they decided to respond. "We don't want that to happen, we are all hoping that you too will go with us alive, but we can't be sure a hundred percent so be prepared ourselves for the worst thing to happen." Stephen responded with a dejected expression, yet he still managed to let out a stiff smile.
The oldest of them all her lower lip from frustration, "you guys…" she muttered under her breath as she lunged forward to embrace them.
"Let's get out of here together." She murmured and the rest of them began to join the hug.
"Sister…" Lino spoke so gently. "Promises that you will never leave us."
Blunch knows that promising something that she can't do will only hurt the both of them in the end, but if you do this time, just once she will promise something that she doesn't know if she can keep. "Yes we will be together till the very end.”
