Blurb

Nebula opened her eyes and realized that she was in one of her favorite novels. What was surprising however was that she was living in the body of the main characters sister who didn't exist in the book. How could she be someone who never existed? How much did the story change compared to the original? Remembering that her best friend, the Empress would neglect and traumatise her daughter because she lost the love of her life, Nebula's sister, Nebula didn't waste a second and hurried back to save the daughter of the main character. She did well because as soon as she arrives she hears the Empress call her daughter "that thing". Nebula wasn't going to let anyone bully a child and was going to make her happy herself.

But so many things changed compared to the original. The main character, Imeena, Nebula's sister isn't dead but then why did the Empress hate her child? Why did the adorable main caracter change into a dangerous snake? Why did the Duke become Imeena's ally instead of abusing her as an adult? And why were they ganging up against Nebula? Was the Empress really in love with her? What was going on?

Chapter 1
Satin Serphent was the oldest daughter of the emperor and was therefore the crown princess of the empire. She didn't really like or dislike being a princess. She didn't have time to ask herself if she liked it because she just did whatever her father told her to do. She went to classes every hour of the day and did her best to be perfect. It wasn't really hard because she was a talented and nonchalant child to begin with. She therefore felt bored most of the time. Nothing gave her any pleasure and she just did what she had to because that was the only thing she could do. Even if people gave her free time, she wouldn't have known what to do anyway.   Satin's face always reflected the boredom that she felt in her everyday life. Her dark eyes were always unfocused and her thin mouth was always turned downwards. She looked through people without interest and never answered anyone's questions. People did their best complimenting her to get on her good side but it didn't work. They could say anything about her long black hair, they could compliment her tall build, they could tell her how smart she was, she never budged an inch. Because of this, Satin soon got known as the unimpressible one and day after the other everyone tried to make her smile without succeeding.   Being a crown princess, Satin soon got engaged to Imeena Wyrm who was the youngest daughter of the Duke. The girl was a tiny blond creature that was smaller than Satin despite both being 4. The petite creature was crumbling under Satin's gaze and the crown princess forgot her the second she looked away. She didn't really like or dislike people and Imeena wasn't an exception. Satin thought that Imeena had been forced to get engaged to her because of how uncomfortable she had seemed but soon the little girl started clinging to the crown princess. The latter hated her peace being disturbed by that person but it seemed their parents wanted the two of them to spend a lot of time together so Satin didn't have a word to say. She just ignored the little girl and did her best to live her life as before.   However soon things changed at the castle. The little girl came every day for tea time and Satin who never liked tea was now forced to drink it in the company of her fiance. Imeena was too shy to say anything and just smiled to the maids and politely answered their questions while Satin just stared at some far away point and did her best not to break the table. There was a lot of pressure on the two girls for getting along so at first they were left together but a few months after their engagement, a new family member appeared in front of Satin. The newcomer was Nebula Wyrm, the older sister of Imeena who finally got the authorization to follow her sister to the castle. She was five years older than the girls and had the same blond hair and green eyes as her sister. People always said that the two sisters looked exactly the same but Satin didn't see the resemblance at all. Contrary to Imeena, Nebula never clung to Satin. On the contrary, she avoided the crown princess with all her might and that started at their first meeting.   Nebula only bowed to the princess without saying anything and didn't even look her in the eyes once. As soon as she was done with the formalities she rushed to her sister all smiles and did her best to look after her. Satin wasn't used to people ignoring her. Usually it was the other way around. It was rather unsettling but she thought it was for the best. That was one less person paying attention to her. But then why was she waiting for Nebula to come every day?   In fact, Nebula started accompanying her sister to every visit to the castle and while Imeena was following Satin around, Nebula did her best to divert her sister's attention and take her somewhere else to have fun. When they were drinking tea and Imeena said something to Satin who ignored her, Nebula would always answer instead and praise her sister for how cute or smart she was. When they were walking and Imeena wanted to hold Satin's hand but got pushed back, Nebula would grab her sister and pull her into a running contest that she would let Imeena win before praising her again. Nebula was there saving the day and indirectly, Nebula was helping Satin a lot being bothered by Imeena's constant following her but then why wasn't the crown princess satisfied? The rare times Nebula looked at her it was a look full of disdain and anger because she did something wrong. It was a first for Satin feeling this weird because of someone's gaze. She felt like she would crumble under Nebula's pupils but at the same time she was waiting for her to look her way.   Without realizing, Satin started being meaner to Imeena. Because every time she bullied her, Nebula would finally stop ignoring her. She would use harsh words against the young girl, and would criticize her manners... She didn't hold back at all:   "That dress looks hideous."   Imeena looked at her adorable pink dress, failing to hold back tears. Nebula was never that angry in her whole life:   "My sister's dress is gorgeous and it suits her perfectly. Even an i***t would see that."   The servants held back their breaths. Nebula had just insulted the royal family and she could be taken away. But Satin was so happy that she was finally talking to her that she didn't mind the criticism at all.   "You should apologize immediately."   People tried silencing Nebula but she wasn't budging. She was staring straight at Satin and the latter didn't even have time to think that she had apologized. Everyone was surprised never having heard the crown princess apologize to anyone. Imeena blushed and Nebula thought she had hallucinated. Seeing her sister protecting her, Imeena calmed down and even smiled brightly before grabbing her sister's hand:   "Thank you sister! You are truly the best sister I could ever ask for."   Nebula smiled and Satin felt her blood boil. Why was she smiling only at that kid? Why was she never smiling at her? Of course Imeena continued clinging to Satin despite Nebula's pleas and the crown princess hated the younger sister more and more with each passing day. The princesses' whole world turned upside down and her only care in the world wasn't studies anymore. Being so focused on the sisters, the princess made her first mistake ever during a sparring class and fell to the ground in front of her teacher. The latter spit to the ground visibly angry:   "I told the emperor that it was a waste of time to teach a girl to spare. Women shouldn't touch a sword."   Satin was shocked. It was her first time making a mistake. How was this possible? What was happening to her? Wasn't she perfect anymore? She was so lost that she completely forgot about the teacher who however continued complaining about women and Satin. What woke the latter up was when the teacher suddenly stopped talking. When she looked up she saw a small but strong body shielding her from the adult. Satin immediately recognized Nebula and had no idea what she was doing here. The young girl was staring straight at the teacher not budging an inch.   "Don't talk to the crown princess this way."   Everyone was surprised. Satin because it was her first time being defended by someone and this someone being Nebula who hated her so much. Her father always told her that she would die if she committed a mistake and now the person who avoided her stood up to protect her. Satin was so lost that she didn't get up and continued laying without a word. On the other hand, the adult came back to his senses and continued screaming:   "Who do you think you are giving me orders? I am the teacher here. You should respect me.   -Respect goes both ways. If you don't respect others then they won't respect you. You should apologize for what you said to her highness.   -Did you just give me another order? I am the commander of the third unit of this empire. Only his majesty can give me orders.   -Having to vocalize your rank that much tells me a lot about your self-confidence.   -What?   -The crown princess made a mistake. This happens to everyone. Apologize for screaming at her and take back what you said about women.   -I didn't say anything wrong. Women are built differently. They are not made for yielding a sword. I won't teach sparring to this girl anymore.   -This girl is your future queen. You should bow your head to her and swear your life to her.   -I am not bowing to a girl. Never.   -But you follow the emperor's orders.   -That's different.   -Despite all your words, she will be the one on the throne and you will be forgotten by History.   -What did you just say?"   The man's face started getting redder and redder but the young girl wasn't moving an inch.   "I said that you were pitiful."   The sound came before the pain. The man slapped the young girl who fell to the ground because of the impact. Her cheek was bleeding but her eyes were still cold and focused on her aggressor as if nothing happened. Despite being on the ground, we could feel victory and threat emanating from her whole body. This view was fascinating and it felt like time stopped for years. Satin could recall every single detail about what she saw and would dream about it for months to come but slowly in her dreams, Nebula turned into different creatures on the ground be it a snake or an angel.   After the slap, the next sound was someone screaming and when he turned around, the teacher's face lost all its colors. The reason was that while Nebula lectured him, she sent Imeena to get their father. Of course the Duke wasn't happy and the teacher got taken away in that second. He tried pleading for his life but he was so terrified that no sound came out as he was dragged away. Satin learned later that her sparring teacher got fired and his hand got cut off. Satin felt that something was missing. Something important. She never cared about human lives before but she wanted this one to be at her mercy. She wanted that man to scrim at her feet and she wanted to punish him herself. Nebula didn't seem satisfied either and stood up with her head high. Satin had no idea what was going on in her mind but she couldn't take her eyes off her.   Feeling observed, Nebula finally turned to Satin and looked as if she finally remembered her existence. She didn't move and looked at Imeena, seeming to think that she would be the one helping the crown princess, but Imeena was busy being comforted by her father for what she had seen. She had been terrified at the idea of her sister getting hurt and couldn't stop crying in the arms of their father.   Therefore Nebula had no other choice and walked up to Satin before extending her a helping hand. The crown princess finally came out of her torpor and accepted the help realizing that she was still laying on the ground. She felt weird when she touched Nebula and felt her whole body warm up suddenly. Once on her feet, Nebula wanted to let go of Satin's hand but the latter didn't let her leave and strengthened her hold. She didn't want Nebula to ever let go. She wanted to feel her warmth a lot more:   "Why?"   Nebula was ready to walk away but was forced to turn back towards Satin which made her frown:   "Why did you help me?   -No one deserves to be treated like this. I would have done the same for anyone."   She let go and Nebula left.
