“This meal is delicious, Mrs. Hayes.”
“Awe, thank you, honey. I’m sure it’s nothing compared to what you’ve cooked!”
“Oh, no ma’am,” I blushed. “Gourmet, sure, I’d like to think I’ve nearly perfected it but I still have a lot to learn where good ol’ southern cooking is involved.” I said as I shoveled a fork-full of macaroni and cheese in my mouth.
It was a small and quaint dinner with the Hayes family, and I found myself enjoying it far more than I had intended.
Mrs. Hayes was simply delightful, bubbly and she was positively obsessed with Jasmine, having not put her down since we arrived.
