01. Finaly Found You
"I finally found you ...." Matthew said without taking his eyes off the beautiful woman who had just finished his flower order.
The woman who had disappeared from his reach for a very long time could now see up close again. The arrangement of roses used as a bouquet looks gorgeous. Matthew never knew this woman could arrange such beautiful flowers.
"Excuse me? Have we met before?"
The question made Matthew feel as if he had been struck by lightning in broad daylight. The woman he loves so much doesn't remember who he is and instead asks about them, whether they've known each other before or not.
However, the woman's gaze was still the same, the eyes and beautiful irises were like emeralds. All this is what Mattew still remembers. Because the woman in front of him right now was his lover. He's been looking for someone for a long time, but he's never found them anywhere.
Matthew thought everything would stay the same, about their love still there, but he was wrong. Matthew thought everything would remain the same, with their passion still there, but he was wrong. Ellenrie can't remember who he is.
Matthew looked away, his eyes blinking as if he was bringing back the tears that were about to fall. Even though his heart was very broken, he tried to make a smile to show her.
"I think there used to be something in the past there," he said.
"Re—really? I am sorry, I don't remember my past. Did you tell me? Do you know who I am?"
"Yes I know."
Of course, Matthew knew who the woman in front of him was. She is his Luna.
That woman dropped the flower she was holding. Flowers that Matthew ordered, but she still needed to give to him. The woman named Ellenrie Brown looked to be crying. However, Matthew didn't know whether it was because Ellenrie remembered him or because she was happy because she had met someone from the past.
What happened to her when Matthew wasn't by her side? What did she feel when she was scared of being alone? Who wipes her tears when she cries? There were so many questions in Matthew's head. However, his hands seemed unable to reach the body of the woman he loved so much because of hugging her.
While Matthew was watching Ellerie cry, a woman who also worked at the flower shop ran up to them. Her face looked panicky when she saw Ellenrie crying. She hugged Ellenrie and asked worriedly.
"What happened? Who are you? Why did you make El cry?" Asked the long-haired woman insistently. The woman cared about Ellenrie.
But, when Matthew was about to answer, the sound of bullets was heard, and he headed towards them. Some of the shots managed to hit the flower pots and destroy them.
"What happened? Why are we being shot?" asked the long-haired woman while dodging the shots aimed at them.
"Get down and walk in, I need you to leave through the back door now!" Matthew asked while taking a rifle from the pocket of the jacket he was wearing.
In a panic, the woman seemed to have no choice. She asked Ellenrie to walk with her, avoiding the shots while walking towards the back door of the shop. At the same time, Matthew fired back at the people.
Panic broke out in the flower shop area, causing several pedestrians to scatter, and some even got shot in some people's legs.
Matthew, who felt he couldn't handle the attack alone, chose to leave there, picking up Ellenrie and her friends. Even though he almost got shot in the shoulder, Matthew succeeded, reached his car, and then went to escape.
Through the rearview mirror in the car cabin, Matthew could see that three people had been targeting him. They kept shooting even though Matthew had started the car engine, getting ready to leave. Unfortunately, not only did the three people shoot at Matthew, but there was also a sniper hiding and joining in shooting Matthew.
One shot narrowly missed Matthew's head when he didn't dodge it. The shot hit the dashboard and perforated it, only Matthew immediately pulled himself together, brushing aside the fear he felt, and rushed to the back of the shop.
Ellenrie and her friend were already waiting when Matthew asked the two of them to get into the car. They entered and then left the shop.
"Who?! Who are those people?! Why would they want to kill me?" The long-haired woman looked hysterical as she kept looking behind her. There were several cars seen trying to chase them.
"They won't kill you if they don't get you," Matthew answered while continuing to move to increase speed.
"What?!"
The woman screamed, but Matthew kept driving through congested streets and overtaking the big cars in front of them. Ellenrie and her friends hugged each other because now and then, they still heard gunshots back there.
Matthew helped steer to the right when the road was very congested. His car almost hit another vehicle because it turned suddenly, but not with the cars chasing them. The first car hit a pickup truck very hard and caused a pile-up collision, while another vehicle overturned because it was hit by another car when running through a red light.
"Are they still after us?" This time it was Ellerie who asked.
"I hope not."
As they realized the situation, the long-haired woman immediately became hysterical. "Oh, no! What about my shop?! We leave it! They are destroyed! My business, my money, my shop?! Arrggghhh!"
Ellenrie tried to calm her friend down, but, unlike Matthew, he drove while occasionally glancing at Ellenrie, who was still busy relaxing away with her hysterical friend.
"Hey! Why are you so silent, you nuts?! Who are these people? What about my shop?!" he asked again. But Matthew just remained silent, not paying attention to anything.
The car driven by Matthew continued to speed towards the border, turning into a quiet road leading to a forest route deserted by vehicles. The street was so quiet that nothing else could be heard, only the sound of their engine. Meanwhile, the people who had attacked them were no longer there. They've escaped.
"Hey! Say something! Why about my shop?!"
"Nina, please, calm down, we'll talk about this later. At least now we're safe ...."
"But, El ... that's my shop! That's the only property I have. It's also my house too!" Complained the woman who was called Nina by Ellenrie.
Nina was crying. There was a feeling of annoyance mixed with relief because they were safe, but also annoyed because the shop she owned had to be destroyed by people she knew. He also even left everything he owned on the counter; by now, the money might have been robbed.
"Where are you taking us?" Ellenrie asked.
At first, Matthew didn't answer and kept driving, but after a while, Matthew finally spoke,
"Home."
