With day becoming night, we were greeted by the gentle breeze that came with the darkness. I sat up looking at Theon who eventually sat up as well.
"Are you ready? Damien should already be waiting for us at the meeting point with our things."
I nodded as I stood up, "This is nerve racking but also exciting because I'll be able to finally see your wolf as you'll be able to finally see mine."
Theon smiled standing up and gently taking my face into his hands and planting a kiss on my forehead.
We knew that Luke was busy distracting his father and my brother was stalking the area to make sure no guards would come this way. We were leaving so fast that I didn't even get to tell Luna or Cai anything that's been going on. She had been blowing up my phone for the past two weeks. I've been so busy drowning myself in training and now Theon that I haven't had time. I had to make it a point that when we got to the Blood moon pack to fill her in on everything.
Theon lightly touched my shoulder to let me know that it was time to go. Quickly we stripped down and folded our clothes so our wolves could easily care for our items. I had shifted a few times during the two weeks just to get used to everything and for training to be easier, but it was still a bit painful.
I felt my spine and ribs start to shift as my legs and hands began to do the same. I clenched my jaw as I felt it stretch. Fur sprouting where it once was just skin, I felt my tailbone grow a become bushy. I landed on all four's shaking my fur out. It didn't hurt as much as it did that first shift, but I still caused discomfort that I didn't like.
Looking over towards Theon, my eyes widen. His eyes were on me and it was those same eyes. Those same golden eyes had caused me to fear within my dreams. Those same golden eyes that the moon goddess told me to trust. Theon whined a bit as he looked at me. We weren't mates yet and I wasn't a part of his pack either, so mind linking was out of the question. I was confused on what to do because this was the same wolf who had lunged at me in my dreams but also the same wolf I was to trust.
Verena started to get impatient, 'This is our mate Jade, now go before I have to take over and take off with him for you.'
I stared at Theon, he was absolutely gorgeous. He had a beautiful Onyx color coat with hints of Blue and purple and he was bigger then I was but not by much.
Verena birched my thoughts, 'Hello, Jade? Go!'
Snapping out of it. I started to follow Theon into the woods. We didn't have much time because Alpha Mark would begin to wonder why Theon and I weren't in anyone's sight and why Damien was gone with the SUV.
We picked up speed as we raced through the woods feeling the wind through my fur and the leaves beneath my feet. It was bliss, however I was still curious about why Theon and his wolf had haunted my dreams. I would have to find a way to ask the moon goddess. Though, now was not the time.
We came close to the boarder and I stopped had Theon crossed it. He turned to look at me. He whined and tried to urge me to make it over the edge of the territory.
I had to, I had to cross, but once I did, I knew I had to run.
Taking in a deep breath I took off running with Theon now on my tail. I felt the tie to the pack sever and I knew the pack members felt it as well. Howls of pain could be heard but the one that shook me to my core was a loud, thunderous howl that could be heard come from the heart of the Blue Mist Pack.
We took off faster as I knew what that meant. Without a doubt I heard it the alpha's guard was catching up. These were specially trained wolves who I helped train. I was suppose to be their next captain, but I also knew that Theon and so could easily take them in a heartbeat. I just didn't have the heart to do it. I still cared about the pack, just not the Alpha.
With our luck the SUV was insight. We pushed ourselves harder as Theon reached it first already shifted into his human form ready to shut the back once I jumped it. In a matter of seconds I was in the SUV laying against Theon who slipped into a pair of gym shorts.
Lifting my head up to see out the back window I saw the wolves stop and howl out in pain. It hurt, the pain of their howls echoed throughout my heart.
I felt a strong hand softly run through my fur and I looked up at Theon. He spoke softly, "I know it hurts and I know it's not easy, but it's only temporary until we can get everything sorted out."
I knew he was right but I still bothered me that my pack hurt this much. We weren't like other packs. We didn't have omegas, we treated everyone like family, but after the Luna passed away Alpha Mark became weird with trying to claim power.
Theon carefully pulled a blanket over top of me as I closed my eyes letting myself drift off to sleep.
The bright light shined through the trees as I sat on the tree stump. The moon goddess smiled as she saw me, "My child, you are destined for so much, but many trials stand in your way."
I looking up at her and taking in her beauty. "Why the nightmare with Theon's wolf?"
She smiled more "Because you were still tied to another. You and Theon are destined to be together."
It all confused me, I had to go through heart break before meeting Theon? Was it because he was once mated before?
I felt a very delicate hand touch my cheek, "Do not worry, everything happens for a reason and must happen so new beginnings can come forth." Her hand felt warm and relaxing as it touched my cheek, "Their is another you must watch out for. His name is Ryder. He is freeing Alpha Mark as we speak."
She looked concerned, “Alpha Mark was over thrown by his son and locked away.” I looked up at her confused. "A war is coming and the old families must survive." She smiled. "Now wake up my child."
I had so many questions. Who was Ryder? Why was he coming for the old families?
I woke up in a start as I sat up. I was back in my human form as I looked around my blanket falling off of me. Before I could register where I was a pair of strong hands wrapped the blanket back around me to cover my body, "My little wolf, are you okay?"
I looked up to see Theon and blushed. “Yea.” I paused for a moment, “I’m okay, I just had a bit of a dream is all.”
He softly pulled me towards him. “Okay, my little wolf, why don’t you go ahead and put some clothes on, I would of done it but I would of had to remove the blanket from you.”
Blushing more at the thought I nodded and put some clothes on as he held then blanket for me.
Theon lifted one of back seats so him and I could slide into it as we came pulling up to the Blood moon pack. I looked out my window in amazement.
Mountains and woods formed beautifully around the territory. It was large too. I knew that the Blue Mist pack had about 5,000 werewolves living inside it’s territory, but the Blood Moon pack had over twice that. It was close to 11,000 members and the road was so well hidden that you would of never known that, that many people live in a single area. Shifters were always good about hiding there homes and werewolves were the best at hiding many in a single area.
Damien pulled the SUV through the gates as I could see guards all throughout in both forms, wolf and human alike. There was no castle that many would think there would be but there was a pretty good size house.
Theon smiles as he watches my reaction to everything. “I take it you like your new pack?”
I smiling up at him, “It’s beautiful, all of it is beautiful.”
I could tell this made Theon happy to hear. “Once we get you settled in we will start planning your Luna ceremony.”
My cheeks heated up, I knew I would be going through it but just the thought of being with my mate brought more join to me.
Everything is better then I could imagine and I’m glad I listened to Verena and ran with Theon. I’m glad I didn’t stay, but the one thing still bothering me was what the Moon Goddess told me. I had to tell Theon and see if he might know who this Ryder guy is and why he helped Alpha Mark escape. I had to tell him of the on coming war I was warned about. I just had to find out when.
