Chapter Thirteen Hoods up, heads down, rifles hidden under their coats, they entered Bagnell a few minutes later, following a deserted street that ran north and south past buildings that were little more than anonymous gray boxes. The trudge around the city’s eastern fringe was unexciting, which was the way Lorn liked it. They saw a handful of ground vehicles but only two pedestrians, both from a distance and both uninterested in anything more than reaching shelter as soon as possible.
