Chapter 59: Blinding light and Red lake

We followed the tune we heard. We slowly made our distance to the giant mouse monsters from behind and we reached another abandoned factory.
The sound of the flute. I can hear it clearly.
We climb up to the second floor and sneak inside. We raised our heads a little bit from the wall and see a woman playing the flute.
“That girl is in danger she has surrounded my monsters.”
“Nope… Just look at her. She looks so calm… She must be the Contractor that black-haired man is talking about.”
“Using that flute she is taming the monsters.”
“... Before she put many people in danger we must stop here right now.”
The three of us made a decision and made our actions.
From the second floor, we leap for a surprise attack to the woman playing the flute.
The mouse noticed us before she did and attack us with magical beams from its mouth. The beam destroyed the ceiling and roof of the factory. Creating an explosion.
“Tempest!”
Inside the factory, a giant tornado was formed from inside. Making the three of us float and flew from the air.
Taki gets her bells and made them ring loudly.
“Sound skill: Explosion tone!”
“Boom!” Explosive sounds and force were made destroying the tornado completely. We then made our feet in contact with the ground and from different directions. The three of us charges and attack her with our magic.
“Wind blade!”
“Spark!”
“Sonic sound!”
But before our attack hits her. The mouse monsters protected her and catch the magical attack. Blood was shed and it flows on the ground. The mouse surrounds the woman like they are protecting her from danger.
And all of them look at us with terrifying sharp glares.
Around us, there is more than fifty mouse monster and they are all aiming at us with its magical beam.
“You s**t head! You s**t head! You shitheads hurt my friend! You're going to pay for this!”
The woman said and pointed her finger at us. She moves her finger like she was writing in the air.
After that, suddenly our body was blasted from our position out of the factory. Our body was then carved with a s***h from an unknown blade.
The cuts were shallow and we remained standing after the attack.
“Be careful that girl is an ability user.”
Taki warned and from inside the inside. The woman writes another weird scribble on the air. With its completion. The ground where standing was carved open and got destroyed easily.
We dodge the attack by running away and leaping to the roof in the building nearby.
Just what kind of insane ability is that? Seems like we just got lucky and got shallow cuts on our body. If one of those directly hits us. We’re definitely killed.
The woman walked to the injured mouse monster and patted its head. She looks so worried and pours a healing potion on its body to remove it from its misery.
“Don’t worry you're going to be okay right now…”
“Purr…” The mouse monster cries. The woman put her forehead to the monster's head.
“Don't worry someday you’ll all find peace. All we have to do is endure this pain and suffering… Until the promised day came…”
She turned her body and exited the building. She turned to glare at us and chanted magic for an attack.
“Wind blade!”
“Air force!”
After I intercepted the wind blade. Taki and Yumi hurried and run with their weapon ready in their hands.
The woman swings her hand and casts another wind blade. Taki and Yumi slide down on the ground and reached the woman’s position.
“?!”
Yumi and Taki deliver two consecutive magic punch through the woman’s body.
While Taki and Yumi are close to the woman's attacking range. They didn’t notice that the woman is already writing on the air.
Yumi’s body was cut and blood sprayed out. The woman turned her body and kicks Yumi away from her.
That wound is so huge.
“Yumi! No! Yumi!”
I run to Yumi’s side and held her hands.
From Yumi's mouth blood is gushing out. Looking at her, I can’t stop but remember the time my mother died in front of me.
My tears drop down to Yumi’s cheeks and slide down.
Yumi was looking at me and chasing her breath.
“Don’t give up Yumi… You can do it…”
“How did it feel? How did it feel when someone kills your friend?”
The woman asked.
“... It hurts right? You mustn't say you're farewell. You're going along with her foreigner…”
“I won’t let you!”
Taki charges to the woman attending for a punch from behind. But she got caught in her arms.
The woman then throws Taki away from us. She then immediately turned her body on us and written scribbles in the air.
“Goodbye.”
At that moment, All I saw was everything turning white. Powerful energy is about to hit us.
The flow of memories from the past goes on my head.

Some naughty kids are bullying me in a small town. They are angry with me because of my white hair.
“You look like an old woman with those white hair Hahahaha.”
“There is something I saw in the school library before. It's said that human with white hair was monsters. They are monster who eats humans flesh.”
“I’m not an old woman or monster! All I just want is to play.”
I retorted.
“Who wants to play with someone like you?”
“White-haired monster Laura!”
“White-haired… Does that mean Laura is also one of them? We must exterminate the monster before she ate us!”
The kids said and started throwing rocks and physically hurting me.
I try to struggle my way out but they continue.
“You’re a monster!”
“Monster! Monster! Monster!”
I felt a burning hot feeling from my chest. An unstoppable feeling was then released out from my chest.
“Leave me alone!”
I shouted.
I don’t know exactly what happened but All I saw was the blinding white light.
After the light faded, the kids who bullied me were all injured afterward.
“Eh? What happened? Mama! Mama! Mama!”
I cried out loud calling my mother.
“That girl did this! She is truly a monster! White-haired monster!”
“Monster what did you do to my child?!”
“You should be burned to ashes!”
I didn’t do anything why these people are looking at me like it's my fault. I’m the one who's hurt here.
The people in the small town tied me with a thick rope and tied me to a wooden pole with a pile of dry wheat. A man with a torch walked closer and look at me with frightened eyes.
“Is it okay to do this? Knights are the ones who's suppose to exterminate monsters like her.”
“It's okay… She is still a monster. She may look like a human but she is a white-haired monster. She needs to be killed immediately.”
“But he is just a kid.”
“Forgiving her will never gonna go anywhere… When she grows up she’s definitely going to feast much human flesh. Before that happened we’re going to kill her.”
“That’s right, she hurt my darling!”
“Burn her! Burne her! Burn her!”
White-haired monster? What are they talking about? I’m not doing anything bad. Why I’m put in this horrible state?
In the moment where all I can do is cry.
My mother appeared to save me.
“Adults bullying a little girl. Are you out of your mind?”
“Luna you're the insane one for keeping a monster.”
“Take back what you said... She is not a monster! She is my daughter!”
"You're insane Luna..."
“The once honorable knight is now insane. We have no choice, Luna. We’re going to kill you with that monster!”
Villagers charges to my mother. Before that My mother turned her face on me and smile.
“Don’t worry everything will be fine.”
After few moments the surrounding was silent and I can’t see anyone. The village is very silent.
My mother untied me and hugs me tightly afterward/
“The outside world is dangerous… Let's go to a new place to live. There were going to live happily ever after… Laura.”
“Mama… Where are the villagers?”
My mother remained silent and made a deep-thinking face. Turning my eyes around me. I saw a lake of red water flowing on the ground.
Why is there’s a red lake here?
“What happened?”
My mother covered my eyes and then carried my body far from the small village.
"They just go home and sleep... Don't worry Mama is here. Everything is fine now."
While holding me I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
When I woke up. My hair was dyed with light brown hair like my mother's. She was cheerful smiling at me.
“We really look the same.”
“I’m not a monster!”
“Of course Laura is not a monster. Laura is the cutest girl in the world. There’s no way you're a monster.”
My mother happily hugs me tightly.
Afterward, we go on an exciting adventurer and reach the town on the edge of the map.
“What is this place, Mama?”
“This is Rum town… This is the place where I was born. It's been peaceful here for hundred of years… Here we can live happily ever after… Forever and ever.”

Before the blinding light hits me together with Yumi.
An intense amount of magical power was released out of my body.
“What are you? This feeling… It’s a monster.”
