Chapter 41: Battle Frontier (Part 11)

“The so-called prodigy that taken the title of frontier master with only one day. I’m quite surprised that the prodigy was a lovely-looking young woman. I think’s not good to pus some scar on your flawless white skin.”

“Hitting a woman while in the middle of a fight… I must apologize because I don’t have an interest in men with a huge age gap on me. I prepared a man that is adventurous and has the ability to make me laugh.”

“Well, then I guess you're the type of woman that I hated…”

Magus gets one of his five staff from his back. He struck the end of the staff to the battle ring.

“... Gravity force!”

Accompanied by Magus's words the gravity in the whole ring intensified. The referee that was in the same ring was forced to kneel to the ground upon activation.

“A strong gravity magic was cast in the ring. The referee is having a  hard time getting up. But there were no points called because player Magus is not making any direct hit to player Lei Mei. What is this? Despite the strong gravity magic Lei mei is still standing!”

The announcer yelled making the crowd more hyped up.

Even me whose watching in the main lobby with Taki and Yumi was amazed at what Lei Mei was capable of. The rind is currently having dents and c***k because of the gravity force. This is bad, if the ring is gone then the first one that touches the ground will automatically lose the battle.

“Cheap tricks won’t work on me geezer!”

Lei Mei charges in. Getting herself close toward Magus she delivers a fist. The gravity magic has stopped after the staff pulled out on the ground.

Apparently, Lei Mei’s fist didn’t reach Magus. Her fist was blocked with the staff. Magus put some distance between him and Lei Mei.

“Magus is a magic user that must be the reason why he making the distance in the battle. Lei Mei is a close combat specialist. Attacking her in long-range is a great strategy o defeat her.”

Taki said and turned her glance on me.

That’s true, but I’m also a close-range type of fighter. I used a sword and I have to get close to my opponent to attack them. Well, that’s not really all true.

My wind magic is diverse and can attack my opponent in a longer range. The prime example of that is my first wind skill called wind blade. Wind blade created a sharp blade of wind that launches toward the target.

But Wind blade has its flaw. The further the enemy. The lesser the wind blade works. The sharpness of the wind blade gradually decreases when it's traveling through the air. The wind blade is at its sharpest when it’s in the closest range.

I should go think of some strategy to defeat her since she already pointed her finger at me.

She looks serious and I’m in the same way.

After my deep thinking. I get one of the hot buns from the paper bag Lei Mei given to me and ate one. I stay focus and watch the fight.

Magus get’s another one of his staff this time a blue-colored staff. He immediately pointed it toward Lei Mei’s body. The tip of the staff creates a giant orb of water from magic.

“What is that thing? Ordinary people should only possess one magic type. This man has two. He must be cheating. That’s cheating man.”

Yumi was confused and asked. The old man whose watching the battle with us answered her.

“He's not cheating… That staff is a magic weapon. Magica weapons can have different abilities and magical types. Magical weapons have their special uses. Did you know the rumored magical item that created rain in a deserted area? That item is called ‘Tears of the clouds’  It’s a magical item like Magus staff.”

“I never heard about that Tear-what-so-ever, but I kinda get it.”

“That’s a good thing.”

The old man the make exhaled and sigh. He probably wanted to make use praised him for knowing lit of things but our reaction is too mundane.

“Water blast!”

A huge amount of water was blasted toward Lei mei. Lei Mei clenched her fist and look a Magus with her raging eyes.

At that moment her fist was covered with flames.

Her magical attribute was a fire.

She swings her fist and punches the water. With great heat from her flames, the water was evaporated instantly. Steam from the water was released creating a fog around the ring.

“Lei Mei signature flaming punch was seen. Her fist just evaporated a huge amount of water! So incredible! Unbelievable! Also Lei Mei si so cool!”

The crowd became too noisy after Lei Mei’s attack. But the camera is not working very well because of the thick fog appearing.

I can’t properly see what’s happening on the battlefield.

The fog was then used by Lei mei to get closer to her enemy. She goes behind Magus and from behind. She punched Magus right through his face with another flaming punch.

The referee saw the happening and give Lei Mei points.

“Critical hit! Lei Mei 2 points!”

Looks like the referee given Lei Mei points for creatively using the steam as her advantage.

This is the first score in this battle. In a normal battle, the first one who gets 10 points was the winner.

The fog disappeared. Magus was currently on his knees and about to rose up. His nose bleeds after receiving Lei Mei’s flaming punch.

“That flame punch is abnormal… It’s no ordinary magic. I can’t tell it after feeling it.”

“I don’t know what you're talking about. But A great fighter will ner gonna tell its secret to its opponent.”

“I agreed to that…”

Magus replied and get’s all of his staff from his back. Struck it on the ground magical power was released.

Even I’m outside the battlefield I can feel the magic from my position. He must be planning to cast such powerful magic.

On the top of Lei Mei’s head. Multiple magic circles appeared in different colors.

“Saven star fall Grand charriotte!”

Illuminating ray of light falls on Lei Mei. The magic was too fast Lei Mei doesn’t have any time to dodge the magic.

“What happened?”

Magus muttered.

The magic circle was cracked and crumble like broken glass. The light magic was disappeared instantly. Above in the ait. Lei mei appeared. With her flaming fist, she destroyed the magic circles.

“I never used two magic before in the fight. Be grateful to know my second choice of magic.”

“What is this woman?”

“Flame acceleration!”

Lei Mei’s body was accelerated by flames. Boosing her movement speed toward Magus.

“My winning streak won’t end here! Mist Clones!”

Magus's body was multiplied. Attempting to confused Lei Mei. Each of the clones raised their staff and pointed into Lei Mei.

“Dark magic: Abyss arrow!”

“Dar magic user that’s rare…”

Multiple dark arrows were fired. Lei Mei destroyed it with her flame magic. Her flames covered her body. She then released flames around the ring burning Magus clones. Revealing the real body she speeds herself up.

With Flame's acceleration, she got closer toward Magus.

“Flaming punch!”

A direct hit on Magus's stomach.

“Critical hit! 2 points Lei Mei!”

Lei Mei grabbed Magus's arm and tight crush it.

“I heard that you're using your power as the frontier master to do some crimes. Prostitutes, s*****y, and black market dealer.”

“How did you know those things?”

“Don’t underestimate us… You know us aren’t you.”

Lei Mei after saying those words makes Magus pale. Magus's eyes became bloodshot and aggressively fire magic.

“Woman like you should bow down on us… Don’t get cocky rats of Night Alliance.”

“You so noisy… You know no one is safe in Night Alliance.”

Lei Mei struck another flaming punch to Magus's face. Followed by another one and another.

“Flaming punch barrage!”

Lei Mei showered Magus with a flaming punch.

“Stop it! We still need him.”

From the audience, a pink-haired girl with red-eye shouted and stopped Lei Mei.

Hearing that voice. Yumi who's sitting beside me was trembling and making a sinister smile on her face.

“What’s wrong Yumi?”

“That woman… That woman is here… My big sister… My big sister… Big sis Yuri is here!”

That woman is Yumi’s big sister? They look the same. Her big sister indeed was kinda scary.

“You're no fun, Yuri… It’s a good thing that you stopped me. This man is probably dead is not.”

Lei Mei muttered and then put down the almost destroyed face of Magus to the ground. Magus was still breathing and fell unconscious.

“It’s a landslide! Lei Mei 10 points! Magus didn’t even get a chance to make a score. Lei Mei in frontier master battle takes the title of the 50th-floor frontier master!”

After the announcement of her victory. Lei Mei with Yuri is walking in the hallway. IN the same hallway we met earlier.

In there Yumi kicks the ground and attack her big sister with a hammer. Attempting to smash her head from behind.

Her big sister saw it happening and grabbed Yumi’s hand. After that, she slammed Yumi to the ground. Rising Yumi, Yuri strangled Yumi and pushed her to the wall.

“Stop it! Wind blade!”

I attack Yuri. Lei Mei smashed my attacks with her flaming punch. Taki also attacked with her bell but she has stopped my Lei Mei with her kick.

“Yumi… You never change… You're still a small creepy-looking girl…”

“Big… Sister… I come… To… Kill you…”

“That’s impossible… You know it, that’s a natural thing to happen more like a fate. It will never change.”

Yumi struggles and tried her best to get out of her big sister’s hands. Yuri looks at Yumi’s eyes directly.

“... Not enough hate. That's no good Yumi. Your such a bad girl.”

Yuri then tightens her grip on Yumi’s neck. Resulting in Yumi falling into her unconscious state.

“Yumi!”

Yuri then throws her sister to the ground like trash.

And Seeing her treat her own sister like that makes me angry. I don’t know what’s the feeling of having a real little sister but that’s not something you should do.

Big sisters should love their little sisters. Like Kaoru and Belle. Just like how I love Nonon and Yaya.

“Are your hair always in that color?”

Yuri suddenly appeared in front of me and strangely look at me. She looks and stares into my eyes.

I wanted to fight back but her scary aura is overwhelming. I can’t do anything. I trembled and fall to my knees.

“Your hair was supposed to be white…”

“W-What are you saying? My hair is always like this.”

“I see, then maybe I got the wrong person. Also, take care of my little sister. As her friend.”

Yuri then makes a smile.

I was confused and just nodded. She says the same to Taki and leaves.

Looking at her back I found her very strange. I can feel that our fate will cross once again in the future. That’s a story for another time.
