Chapter 40: Battle Frontier (Part 10)

“I’m very sorry but I can’t lend the three of you money. Master Karyll already told you that the expenses in this place are very high. Battle frontier is one of the most luxurious places in the world. Honestly, I’m still impressed that the three of you manage to live more than a month with 100,000 mels.”

“You’re supposed to be responsible for taking care of us.”

Yumi protested.

The three of us were so busy in training these past weeks we didn’t visit the Battle tower and join the battle event.

I closed my eyes and make a sigh. I took a glance at the battle tower and walked heading to its location.

“Where are you going, Laura?”

“Wait for us…”

Taki and Yumi followed me and walked beside me.

“To the battle tower… That’s the original goal after all. I came here in the battle frontier to have money while training. I became so laid back while in Glenn’s care. I forgot about my money problems. We already learned our unique abilities. I’m grateful to Glenn that he teaches us.”

“I hate him for kicking us out. But you are right Laura, Glenn already fulfilled his job. It’s our turn to fulfill ours. Let's go and have 50 consecutive wins in this tower.”

Going to the battle tower we immediately go to the receptionist and registered ourselves. Because we are just a newbie player back then. What is this girl talking about? More importantly why she’s looking at me and talking with me so casually.

What the heck I’m doing?!

Stoop up and composed me. With hot buns on my hand, I picked a fight with Lei Mei.

“Just wait for me on the 50th floor I will surely get my 50 consecutive wins and defeat you.”

Lei mei then grabbed a paper bag full of hot buns and give it to me. Taki and Yumi were also given. After that, she waved her hand and leave.

“What is her deal I don’t understand her Laura?”

“That’s not important. The important thing is we have something to eat before our next flight.”

We indeed need energy for our next fight. Even Lei Mei was considered an enemy. She saved us from starvation. We need to reach floor 15 before we start earning money. We better need to hurry up.

Since Lei Mei is my next opponent I better watch her battle to have some reference.

In the main lobby of the battle tower. There is a multiple monitor that broadcasts the ongoing fights. We search for Lei Mei’s fight.

We find it easily because it’s a frontier master fight. It was quite a big deal and many people are already putting their bets on the player they wanted to win.

After calling her name she enters the ring.

A blue-haired man with five staff on his back appeared on the ring. With his appearance, the whole crowd cheered him on. The whole area was electrified and full of energy.

The man talking was the middle-aged man we met before.
