“Ladies and gentlemen. The first fight in the battle tower battle event first floor will start. In the blue corner, the murderer killed ten people at once… Bardo Marksmith!”
Upon calling his name the man named Bardo enters the fighting stage.
A man with a masculine body. Arm swing dragon tattoo and sharp shark-like teeth. Grinning as he looks around the audience.
“The Mafia boss told me that I will be able to leave the prison after I defeated 100 players in this event. Beating up people until my heart content is nothing on me.”
“Well, then if that’s the case we can’t doa anything about it. Then, calling the player on the red corner… Umm… What is this? I’m a twelve-year-old girl, my mission is to kill my big sister. Wait? Is twelve-year-old allowed to fight?”
The announcer then called the staff to clarify. After clarifications, he then goes back to the stage.
“Ahem… She is indeed a twelve-year-old. Brimming with talent. Entering the stage. Player Yumi!”
Yumi enters the stage and everyone was in confusion. But other was taking her seriously.
Glenn, Taki, and I were seating in the audience seat. A man beside me didn’t laugh and look at Taki seriously.
“I bet to the little girl to win… She has those eyes. Those red scarlet eyes.”
“I’m surprised you notice it.”
Are scarlet eyes like Yumi that popular? I’m always thinking that scarlet eyes were weird. But what that really mean?
Yumi was the first one to battle because she impressed Glenn the most. After measuring our strength, Yumi is ranked the highest and to further measure her strength taking battle in the battle event was the fastest route to chose.
“Honestly, I’m still thinking if I’m going to teach you three in making ability.”
“Why is that?”
“You're unfair!’
“You're three are mess up child… That’s the reason. Teaching you to learning ability is like giving a kid a g*n. I have to further look at the three of you before teaching you three. First I have all of you defeat 10 players. It’s okay if it's not consecutive. All I need to see is how you three fight. Also, in this fight in the battle tower, you might see an ability user.”
Seeing an ability user? Well, I was thinking what's the difference between magic and ability. I have a hard time understanding it to the fullest.
Maybe after witnessing one. Will make me understand it better.
“The winner of the fight Yumi!”
Eh?! I didn’t see it at all. I dwelled with my thought I didn’t notice what’s happening on the stage.
“Yumi sure is powerful. Her physical strength is abnormal. This is quite interesting.”
Glenn muttered.
The murdered guy was then left knock out on the stage.
“What happened?”
“Yumi kicks his balls in full strength and then punches him to his jaws. With two simple attacks, Yumi defeated a murderer.”
“That means she didn’t use her magic or skill.”
Taki nodded in reply.
I turned my glance back to the stage and look at Yumi. Yumi as victor and the referee raised her hand.
“That man is done for.”
Glenn muttered.
“What do you mean he's done for?”
“He's a murderer and he mentioned about a mafia. It’s a normal occurrence in this place. Criminals were taken in this place to provide entertainment to the audience. But when a toy like him was defeated. He will be thrown out.”
“That fat man yesterday… He's also a criminal taken in this place.”
“That’s correct, he assaulted and committed sins to women. His crimes were unforgivable. But his strength is also formidable. That’s why he became a player in this tower. I just happened to clash with him and won in certain conditions.”
“Something to do with your ability?”
“I don’t like telling my ability. No and adventurer should not tell its ability to others. It’s something that should be kept secret. That’s one of the basic rules.”
“That means I can’t tell my ability to Taki and Yumi or Master?”
“It’s for you to decided just tell it to trustworthy.”
Yumi exits the stage and another player will come and fight to the stage.
“Yumi will fight later after some few fights. To go up in the next 11 -20 floor. A player needs to win 20 wins. It doesn’t matter if it’s not consecutive. But if you lost 3 times you need to start back into zero.”
Taki said.
Remembering Master Karyll talked about Taki joining this battle event before. She did get 20 consecutive wins. Hat means Taki has a right to go battle on floors 11-20.
“Since the first battle was so fast. We’ll not take any breaks anymore. The next battle will starts! From the red corner, one of the knight examiners and players has the right to step on floor 31-40… Zenon Astrea!”
A man covered with silver armor enters the stage. He looks so strong and his posture was perfect. He is truly a knight.
Then I wonder why is he here? And the announcer said that he has the right to step on the 31-40 floor.
Glenn also looks at him with a puzzled expression.
“Did you know him, Glenn?”
“Yeah, we work in the same department before… I was confused on why his battling on the first floor? Unless it’s someone equal in him in power or greater.”
“Zenon is known for his strictness and desire for battle. He did enjoy battling knights in the kingdom.”
Taki said.
He does look strong. Wait for his examiner knight that he might have some sort of ability like Glenn.
I started to get excited about this.
“In the blue corner… A man that has a personal invitation from Zenon Astrea himself. There was no personal record of him... William Amores.”
William entered the stage with a frightening aura around him. His body was lean and muscular. Has a nice facial feature. His tall and cool-looking.
Just by entering the stage, he was the center of attention. Especially to the girls. The crowd was all over him.
“William I’ve been waiting for this time… let’s spice things up and make this battle a death match.”
“If that’s what you wanted, but you must not regret after I pummel you down… I accept your challenge.”
The crowd was more excited after the exchange of their words.
“Did you all hear that?! This battle will become a deathmatch. Zenon Astrea versus William Amores… There were no rules. The one who first dies will lose. Simple rules… Now lets the fight start!”
Before the announcer and the referee left the stage. William walked toward them. Putting antenna on their necks.
“What is… Guahhhh?!”
“Grrr..”
“Copy-cat: Radio controller!”
What happened I didn’t feel any trace of magic on that thing? The referee is all acting weird. They are all walking like dead people toward the knight named Zenon.
“Such simple tactics won’t defeat my soul!”
The knight slashed the referee and announcer.
The blood sprayed out of their body and Zenon noticed how black it was.
“Count it be?”
The bodies of the referee and announcer exploded out of nowhere.
“Look carefully Taki and Laura. This is the reason why Ability should not be taught o other people normally. That man named William is the prime example of it. Someone as sinister as him accessing ability was dangerous.”
After the explosion. William leaps and kicks Zenon down to the floor. Zenon makes a counter with his sword.
“Copy cat ability such troublesome ability…”
“I do know lots of people. I copied their ability or magic to make it my own. Copy cat is not even originally mine. The secret was in this copybook…”
William manifested a book in his hand and explained.
“... This book is the physical manifestation of my ability… Copy Book. Each page was treated as slots for magic or ability once used it can’t be used again. The moment I used two radio controllers. Two pages of this book were now blank.”
“Why tell me about your ability?”
“It’s a handicap between you and me. I know I’m more powerful. If I didn’t tell you about this, you have no chance of winning at all.”
After hearing that Zenon was irritated and charge toward William with his sword.
“Sword skill: Destruction s***h!”
The s***h was dodge easily by William. This followed with a kick toward Zenon's stomach. Thanks to his armor Zenon was not damaged at all.
But it leaves a distance between him and his opponent.
“Fake maker and Multiplier. This two ability is some ability I copy with certain people in garbage city. Fake maker was able to make fake copies of anything except living things. The living thing created with the Fake maker will appear as a corpse. Fake maker lasts 24 hours upon use. The multiplier on the other hand has the ability to multiply my use in target ability. It’s really convenient right…”
Willian then puts his hand on the corpse of the Referee and Announcer. He makes a copy of their body using Fake Maker and uses I ten times by using Multiplier.
“Unfortunately I can only use multiplier into 10 times each object. With this two I can make two corpses. Now let’s move on to my next ability. Puppeteer ability. It’s simple like the name suggested. It’s a more likely controlling corpse.”
Using Pupettier 20 corpse was then under controlled.
“.. You should be careful all of them are decided with the 2nd ability I used earlier. Blood bomb ability. Their body will explode the moment its body gushes out blood. Slashing them will make them exploded.”
At this moment, The knight can’t do anything. That man has multiple abilities to use in the fight. I wonder how the knight will counter such a thing?
Did he have some winning rate in this battle? Ability is terrifying, yet exciting.
I was happy to learn such a powerful thing.
“That means Zenon can’t s***h them with his sword because it will be made them explode right?”
“No that’s not it… Zenon can’t s***h them but the corpse controlled can. Just look at the battle.”
The controlled corpse rapidly runs toward Zenon. The moment they got close. The corpse was bitten then hands. The body of the corpse light up and exploded.
Zenon rides a dragon-like thing made with transparent energy.
“That’s Zenon’s ability called dragon ascendance. He can create dragon-like features and control it.”
“That’s too simple.”
“I agreed to that. Simply dragon can be molded with magic, but his dragon was molded with magic and has its restrictions. That's the foundation of ability. The rules used will make the ability stronger than anyone else. The riskier it was, the powerful it became.”
Then I wonder what kind of Rule Zenon has on his Dragons.
“Dragon breath!”
The dragon Zenon created breaths flames toward William.
