I don't want to fight such a kind-hearted girl like her.
This sudden twist. We just became friends just now and we suddenly became enemies. Since our name is been called that means the next time we’re be facing each other is on the battlefield.
“Don’t make that face Laura… Don’t hesitate in the battle. We both have something o fight for. In the battle tower, we’re all mutual enemies. But that’s only on the battlefield outside the battlefield. We’re friends.”
Fina said as she gives me her smile.
She is right, we both have something to fight for. I need to fight to have 50 consecutive wins. She needs to fight because… What is this? Her reason to fight is not selfish like mine.
I was fighting for myself that’s all because I wanted to become strong enough to travel this world. Fina is fighting for her mother and little sister.
Her smiling at me right now just proves how kind she truly was.
While thinking about how this I close my eyes and bow my head down. At this point, I don’t know what to do.
FIna then put her hands on my shoulder.
“Don’t think about it, let’s go and do our best.”
“Y-Yeah…”
I replied.
We then go to the battlefield. Our names were called out on each side of the battlefield. In the center of the loud cheer of the crowd. Fina appeared in front of me who looks seemingly serious. In her hand, she hands a wand as her weapon.
“Players already knew the normal battle rules! With that, the battle will start!”
With the referee's call. FIna take the fist move and charge toward me.
I was surprised because I never expected a magic-user will to charge heads on to its opponent. Usually, a magic user will make distance itself from its enemy and use its magic as a form of attack.
From my waist, I pulled my pure white sword.
Fina reaching my attacking range. I swing my sword horizontally. She hurried and bent her body down. Avoiding my blade.
She then pointed her wand at my body.
“Water magic: Water blast!”
“Wind skill: Flowing gust!”
I defected her magic with my wind magic. Fina then with her wand molded a twin sword with water. She then uses it as her weapon attacking me at close range. Using my sword I change sword s***h with her.
The crowd shouted with excitement seeing the fierce exchange between us.
“Player Laura and Player Fina are doing great none of them really want to left defeated in this battle. Will Laura’s win streak be broken or Fina will reach her third losing streak and goes down to the first floor! All we can do is watch this fight until the end!”
What? If Fina loses her she will go down to the first floor? That means she can’t earn money. If she can’t earn money then she won’t be able to support her family.
I understand the gravity of her feelings right now. This victory is not just for her.
Fina is fighting for something else. Something more important.
“Water magic: Bubble bringer!”
Bubbles were sprayed toward my head covering my eyes. After that Fina rotated her body and deliver a kick. As a result, my body fled to the ground.
“Player Fina gained 2 points!”
In a few inches, I’m going to fall on the battlefield.
“Water magic: Water blast!”
“Wind skill: Air force!”
I pushed myself upward using wind force. And then while I was in the air. I swing my sword and chant another spell.
“Wind skill: Whirlwind!”
I rotated my body downward and spin. Creating a whirl of a tornado in the field.
With the strong wind of whirlwind. Her body will float and be thrown out of the field.
“This won’t budge me.”
Fina used her twin swords and struck the battlefield. She uses it to avoid being taken by the whirlwind.
The whirlwind ended and the moment he whirlwind ended. Fina charges on and attacks me with her swords. I intercepted her slashes.
“Water sword skill: Dance of the sea god!”
Her attack became faster and heavier. Each s***h is packed with dense magic.
I don’t want to leave in a defensive position I must fight.
“Wind skill: Wind blade!”
Before I fully extend my arms and swing my sword. I felt sadness through my heart. I remember her family who rely on her.

From below Fina kicks my jaw upward.
“Critical strike! Player FIna gained 2 points! Score 0 - 4. Player Fina on lead!”
“Wow! Such intense exchange from these two young girls. But Player Laura is sure in pinch. Her winning streak will be broken if she lost here.”
“Fina! Fina! Fina! Fina! Fina!”
“Laura! Laura! Laura! Laura! Laura!”
The audience's voice shouting our name was heard throughout the stadium.
I can’t concentrate. It feels like I wanted her to win this fight.
“Fight me Luara! Fight me! Don’t look at me with those eyes. I don’t need your pity. If I lose in this place then all I have to do is rise again. If I lose then I’m a loser. Fight me seriously, I saw you fight earlier you can use that high-speed attack right. Why not use it on me?”
“But if you lose here…”
“That’s not you’re the problem! Fight me! This is our battle. Winning because of pity is a dishonor. Battle me with all that you’ve got. That’s my request because I’m a fighter.”
I then slap both cheeks with my hands and then take a deep breath. I put my sword in front of me and made a sword stance.
Fina did the same with her twin sword.
It’s not my problem. Everyone has their own problem to solve and their problem to find a way to solve it themselves. If they can’t solve their personal problem by themselves then they are losers.
I steady and imagine a line of trajectory in the field. My body will travel through those lines at high speed.
“Lightning swift!”
A zig-zag line and my body trace the line at high speed. Fina wasn’t able to keep up and was hurt by my sword s***h.
“Player Laura gain 1 point!”
After using lightning-swift there was a cool-down period of 10 seconds.
I turned my body and then swing my sword.
“Wind skill: Wind blade!”
Fina leaped and avoided the skill.
“Laura already taking this battle seriously… Now we can truly battle like a real fighter. I must do my best the same way… Sea god armor!”
Fina’s body was covered with water and formed aqua blue armor with razor-sharp fins on its sides. Her twin sword made with water was also doubled in size.
“This feeling… It’s an ability.”
Fina’s ability is to create this armor out of her water magic.
No need for holding back. I also want to know my true capacity. My true strength.
I rapidly run to her and using my sword I attack her armor.
“What is this feeling? It’s not hard and not soft… It’s like jelly?”
“Water skill: Saint Water fist!”
“Wind skill: Air force!”
I blasted myself away from Fina and avoided her water fist.
“Nice! Dodge by Laura! It was sure creative using her own damage skill to make herself avoid such a powerful attack. PLayer Fina is still in lead. What will Player Laura do now?!”
This is the first fight in the battle tower that gives me huge trouble. This is the first fight that truly feels like a fight.
I feel excited, this is the fight I’m waiting for.
“Water sword skill: Dance of the sea god!”
She strikes again with that furious continuous s***h.
“Wind skill: Flowing gust! Wind skill: Whirlwind!”
To consecutive skill. I used the wind created by the flowing gust and mix it with a whirlwind. Creating a much powerful wind skill. A small tornado appeared on the central battlefield.
“Water magic: Sea dragons roar!”
From Fina’s sword, a huge dragon made entirely from water appeared. It breaks through the tornado.
I created the tornado not to attack Fina. I just used the tornado to make my body leap through the air.
With me in high grounds. I can see the whole battlefield in my vision.
I already set an imaginary line trajectory. A line that bouncing around the whole area attacking Fine in every way.
I hold my sword tightly and prepared myself.
“Lightning swift!”
My body moves on its own at a lightning-fast speed. Directly slashing Fina's armor. As expected one s***h will not be able to destroy her armor. That’s why I made my s***h consecutively move around. Passing by Fina hundred of times.
Because of the lightning speed, ina wasn’t able to keep up. Her armor was starting to break apart and my attack is going through her body non-stop.
After few seconds the hundred s***h lightning-swift ended. It also consumes lots of my magical power. I was barely able to stand anymore.
Turning my glance on Fina. I saw her smiled at me and then fell to the ground. She lost consciousness.
“Player Fina is knockout! Her consecutive win streak continues! Player Laura won!”
I’m glad that I won. I really didn’t really think that my sword can break that jelly-like armor of her. After the winning, I go toward the waiting room and saw Taki and Yumi waiting for me.
“That was a great fight, Laura! You did great.”
My magic is depleting. My body feels weak after using that hundred s***h. Seems like my body can take too much burden. I must keep it on my mind.
“I wanted to have a nap.”
I also fell unconscious after that. Yumi and Taki catch me. I doze off with a smile on my face.
