Chapter 50: Kingdom in the Northernland

After Yuri and Lei Mei met up in the Black city. They hurried they selves and advance to the kingdom in the northern land. Riding a giant Mantine familiar monster. Yuri and Lei mei arrived.

“This country is said to be in winter whole year. This place is a perfect place for my fire magic.”

Lei Mei said as she looks through the country that is covered with pure white snow. There are mountains on the side. Flying they eventually reached the first town in the country.

“Why did we land in this place? We can fly farther and reach the shadow palace?”

“Be can’t let them find out that we’re here. Mantine is also too huge. Surely, she will pull lots of attention. That includes the attention of the shadows… Thinking bout it, is it okay for your personal maid to be away from you?”

“It’s fine, I’m quite strong. I can take care of myself. Yu Shen has something to do back in a home. I can’t just drag her in every place I go.”

After Lei Mei said that, Yuri wrapped her body with a scarf. Currently, they are both wearing thick jackets that reach their those and boots to protect their foot from the snow. YUri then move forward and Lei Mei followed her back.

The first own still have a far distance from where they landed. Thye walked for about a half-hour before they reach the first town in the country.

“At last, I can finally eat something. I wish I bring more hot buns before going here.”

“Hot buns… In his weather eating something warm sure is good. Maybe we can find something like that here. I’m also getting hungry.”

“That’s right, we can finish such a difficult job with an empty stomach after all.”

Yuri smiled and walked.

“Eh? YOu’re smiling? It’s a rare event. I always thought that you're an emotionless slut.”

Upon hearing Lei Mei’s comment. Yuri grabbed her head and lift her in the air. Lei Mei struggles hard but she can’t do anything.

“I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I’m just joking…”

Lei Mei apologizes immediately. Yuri put her down. And she rapidly chased her breath after.

“... Come on, you should not take a joke seriously. We’re a comrade after all.”

Yuri continues walking inside of the town searching for a place where they can eat something.

As they walked into the town. People closed their windows immediately with their arrival. They all have afraid looks on their face. Throwing a sharp stare at the two girls the two girls continue walking around the town.

The sharp stares didn’t affect them too much any longer because they grow and used to it after doing different missions.

Night Alliance is known for the horribles stuff and criminal acts. Their goal is unknown and the master pulling the strings behind was never seen. Despite that, Night Alliance is not a terrorist that wants the world to burn. In fact, the Night alliance mission consists of killing multiple high-ranked criminals and doing dangerous missions.

All members of the Night Alliance were aware of these bad things. But this in their mind their actions are all justified with their own philosophy and way of life.

It goes the same for Yuri. The reason she tortured Yumi when she was still young and the reason she leaves Yumi. She has a reason for that. She is the type of person that will only do something for a reason.

“Helllllppppp! Somebody help me!”

A scream of help was heard. Yuri and Lei Mei run toward the direction of the voice. Thye jumps through the roof and run. Responding with the call.

Yuri from the roof saw what’s happening below.

A group of knights was surrounding a young-looking mother and a child in her hand. The knights with a creepy smile on the face were stepping closer and closer toward the woman.

“It's a great deal. We won’t take your child to the king if you're going to obey us.”

“I’ve been in love with you ever since. I can’t wait to strip your clothes.”

“Let’s have fun already, it's too cold.”

The knights said as they assault the woman. The mother was shedding tears as she embraces her child tightly. She is looking at the knights like she waned o kill them. But even she tried to fight she won’t make it. She knows that she will never gonna win against them.

All she can do is shed tears and protect her child from danger.

“I won’t let Meily be taken away as a sacrifice. I will never gonna let it happened!”

The mother said.

“They were don’t have a choice… We’re going o take your child away and force you to do what we want.”

“The king gives as this right to take any woman and create more children after all. So that we have endless supplies of food for the shadows.”

From the roof. Yuri leaps down to the ground in front of the mother. Responding to her call. Yuri with her bored-looking expression stood up face o face with the knights.

The knights put a step back for a moment and getting cautions. They raised their swords.

“Who are you? A mercenary?”

“Just a passer-by…”

Yuri with her agile movement taken a sword from his hand and then use it to cut off one of the knight's heads. There are about ten knights in the place. Seeing Yuri’s doing, they didn’t hesitate to charge and attack Yuri.

“You b***h!”

Yuri cut his throat and struck the sword on his back piercing toward his chest. She then takes another blade and uses it to deflect another knight's attack.

“Sword skill: Power s***h!”

The knights attack Yuri with the same powerful s***h. The force from their sword made the snow wipe out from the area. even after that Yuri remained standing.

The knights were astonished seeing to ward their blade. Instead of Yuri being hit by the blade. Their blade hits a red box with a creepy mouth and eye’s on it.

Yuri put her hand inside the box mouth and pull out a weapon.

“t*****e box.”

Yuri pulls her long sword and then rotated her body. Severing each knight in half. Yuri swings her sword to remove the taint of blood put on her sword.

Lei Mei from the roof leap down.

“That was fast… A t*****e box is not the proper name for your ability. It’s more like a weapon box.”

The mother and her child ten walked toward Yuri and kneel on her. She was crying.

“Th-Thank you very much… Thank you very much… Thank you very much. Are you a mercenary?”

“Nope… But we’re here to finish a request. Can you give us some information about this country…”

“I can at least do that for my savior."

Yuri’s stomach then makes a growling voice.

“Oh? My hunger is catching on me we better find a place to eat.”

“That’s true… I’m also very hungry.”

The mother then stood up and suggested.

“If that’s the case then you both can go to my house. I’m about to cook. Also, the sky is getting darker. Maybe you should stay at home tonight.”

Hearing the suggestion Lei Mei and Yuri look at each other.

Because the night is coming. They don’t have much choice but to find a place to stay. They got troubled finding a place and decided to take Leiny’s offer.

While they are on their way. The woman introduces herself to Yuri and Lei Mei. Her name is Leiny and her daughter's name was Meily. They used to run a noodle shop with her late husband. But everything was destroyed after the shadows arrived in the northern kingdom.

Meily’s father joins the adventurers and mercenaries to fight the shadows, but they are all defeated and lost their lives.

The news about Shadows having the ability to negate magic is true. The adventurers that relied on their magic are no match to the Anti-magic ability of the shadows.

The king was overprotective to his own family and he is willing to sacrifice others for his safety. That’s why the kids in the country were taken away. But like earlier it's something Leiny will never let happen.

As a mother protecting her child is a normal thing to do.

After eating, Lei Mei and Yuri were given room to stay. Lei Mei from the bath goes to the bed and lays comfy. Meanwhile, Yuri is sitting while she is reading a book.

Having a busy mood and her body was guardless. Lei Mei looks toward Yuri’s body.

YUri’s skin was so fair and glow like a jewel. Yuri’s silent personality and pretty face made Lei Mei envy for a bit. Despite that, Lei Mei was captured in Yuri’s art-like image.

With frustration... Lei Mie can’t hold it anymore and grabbed Yuti’s two breasts. She then plays with them and rubs them.

“So soft! So Soft! Not that big and not that small. Such a perfect body you have here! It’s unfair. Having a pretty face and a pretty body. This is unfair.”

Yuri turned her body and grabbed Lei Mei‘s head to the air.

Lei Mei apologized immediately and Yuri forgives her and puts her down. Looking at the book Yuri’s reading. Lei Mei got curious and has a peak at it.

“Adventures of Emily? This book looks old.”

“Right, this book is very old. I believe the origin of this book is known and the author is with the same name as the author was unknown. But I truly love the stories written here. This book is showing how the world is very vast, cruel, and wonderful.”

“Adventure story… It’s new to me. I never think that you have some hobby.”

“Well, I like adventures because someday I want to travel.”

“Travel where?”

“I want to travel around the world.”

Yuri said and smile as she looks up to the starry sky from the window. Lei Mei grinned briefly and then grab Yuri’s breast once again. As expected Yuri got pissed off and give some beating to Lei Mei.
