Chapter 51: Nightmare Troupe attack

The next day.

“Thank you for letting us stay for a night in the house. We really appreciate the help. Including this extra food you gave to us.”

Yuri said and bow her head to Leiny.

“It’s fine… We’re the ones whose very grateful for your actions. If you didn’t save us yesterday. There is a possibility that I’m not seeing my child anymore. I’ll be in forever dept with you… Why two adventurers are here? This place is already considered a dangerous area.”

“We’re on a mission… We’re going head on to the shadow monsters.”

Leiny suddenly became anxious after hearing Yuri's words.

“... You might be strong but shadows are monsters that can negate magic. That’s why we can’t do anything. The kingdom was also controlled by the shadows. It’s far too dangerous. I can’t let a hero that saves us die in vain.”

Yuri became silent. Dying is not always an option for Yuri. No matter what happened she will find a way to survive. She with her normal calm expression look back at Leiny’s eyes.

“I know it’s dangerous but I have to do it… Just pray that we’re not going to die.”

“We’re not going to die.”

Yuri made a sincere small smile. Leiny understands her and hugs her tightly. Within her arms, she embraces Yuri with her warm body.

“Thank you so much. I’ll be praying for your safety.”

With Lei Mei’s help. She used the giant Mantine familiar monster to help Leiny and Meily out of the Northern kingdom. Yu Shen escorted them toward Everfloria city to create a new start together.

But Before Meily rides the back of the giant Mantine.

She runs toward Yuri and Lei Mei.

“Here…”

She gave Yuri and Lei Mei a four-leaf clover made with paper.

“You see… I saw them in the picture book. It’s said four-leaf clover gives a fortune to people who have them. I wish you both luck in your mission… Thank you again big sister Yuri and Lei Mei.”

“Hey, where is the big sister part?!”

After that, she smiled and turned her back, and ride the back of the Mantine monster.

The whole kingdom in the northern land was isolated and surrounded by abnormal weather conditions. A pathway going to this city consists of a heavy blizzard storm. A normal adventurer will never gonna reach.

That’s the reason despite the tyranny happening in the kingdom. Normal citizens can’t do anything to escape this horrible land.

Days have passed.

“Attacking and charging straight to the place of the shadow is not a  very great idea. All we can do for now is wait and see their movements.”

Yuri said while using a  binocular to see the shadows living in the main castle.

Analyzing everything that she saw. The shadows already have full control of everything in the northern castle. The king himself can’t do anything with the kids being used as a sacrifice to filled the shadow's stomachs.

As been three days since Yuri and Lei Mei arrived in the kingdom. They did their best to sneak and made a hideout in the high snowy mountain. Suing the woods that can be found usually in the snowy mountain. Yuri and Lei mei were able to create a small cabin. Inside of that cabin, they have a great sight of the kingdom and shadows place.

“We’re not going to attack? That’s boring… I thought I’m here to burn some strong monsters.”

“We can’t make anything yet. I planned in taking them out one by one.”

“Children was sacrifice each day and as the day passed dozen of children was devoured. Yuri is really heartless.”

“I’m simply doing my job… I’m not a hero of justice. As long as I finish my work. It does matter what kind of method I used. Besides them being eaten is normal.”

“I agree… They are weak after all. It’s normal for the strong to devour the weak. It’s a rule of nature itself. Humans just forget because they all think they are the ones at the top of the food chain.”

Lei Mei then with instant noodles she started eating delightedly. Yuri then continues to investigate and saw a different-looking shadow in the kingdom. A monster-like creature with an ox head and the body of a human.

“A shadowed Minotuarus… Definitely a strong-looking one.”

“Yuri… Yu Shen told me yesterday that a group of mercenaries will come here to defeat the shadows. It's said that they are all high-ranked adventurers from the dark guild. They already arrived here and maybe will attempt to attack the kingdom in the nighttime.”

“Dark guild… Then, will be investigating things tonight.”

The dark guild attacking the norther kingdom is the dark guild called “Troupe of a nightmare” a group of criminal high-ranked adventurers. Raging from B-class to A-class adventurers.

They are feared for their heist operation and robbery. The main reason they come to this place is to take control of the northern kingdom itself.

If they manage to defeat the Shadow monsters. They will gain the rights to take the throne for themselves.

“Yuri, do you think Troupe of nightmare will be able to defeat the shadow monsters?”

Yuri grinned and put down the binocular. Sitting down beside Lei mei she takes her bowl of instant noodles.

“They won’t stand a chance… They're going to die…”

Yuri uses her chopsticks and slurps the noodles. 

“You’re not very optimistic… If they manage to defeat the shadows we can join them and reach our objective. Our goal here is to save the princess of this kingdom and give her a peaceful life.”

“Shadows are a type of monster that has the ability to negate magic. The troupe of nightmare is adventurers used using magic. No matter how strong once magic might be, it’s useless in presence of Anti-magic.”

Lei Mei looks at her reflection in the noodles soup. After staring at it she lifted the bowl and drink the hot soup to heat her body temperature. With a satisfied expression on her face, she put the bowl down empty.

“That was good! How about us? We can’t use magic with them… My main magic was fire magic. My ability Energy burns only burned the magical power of my opponents. I bet it’s not very helpful in the fight. My transformation ability is only to make myself looks good.”

While Lei Mei is nagging her mind thinking of a way to defeat the shadows. Yuri already has her plan to defeat them.

The sky turned darker. It’s already nighttime. Yuri and Lei Mei advance outside their base take a peek at the attack “Nightmare troupe” will make in the shadows monsters. Covered with a thick robe that can conceal their presence they sneak to the high mountains and below it was the TRoupe of Nightmare members.

“Scary their group name totally fits with their looks.”

Lei Mei commented.

A big giant man with giant chains in his hand, a thing creepy clown with sharp fangs. An insane person with his body warp and from his back spider-like legs. A fat midget with a nasty pig face. Lastly, a masked man with sharp claws on his hands.

“Hehehehehe… Mere humans passed comes in our arena.”

A black pig monster wearing a tuxedo arrived. Standing like a human being he walked together with other shadow monsters.

“A talking pig… This pig will sell a lot in the black market.”

“The investigation was correct. Shadows were enhanced monsters that have the ability to negate magic. Were not that idiotic to pick a fight with us in disadvantage.”

The troupe of nightmare members pulled their weapons.

"They suing weapon instead of magic. They did the homework. They give up using magic in this battle.

The magic won’t work but a basic attack will works against them It’s not powerful like magic, but it’s the only effective way to defeat them.

“Before everything started let's make things interesting. With our number, there is no way five of you will win against us. We surrounded the five of you with thousand of shadow monsters.”

The pig said.

The clown looks around with an irritated face.

“Seems like my sensory ability was block by them. We’re outnumbered. That might be the case, but I won’t turn my tail. I won’t get back without a fight.”

The clown with his knives throws it around. The multiple knives pierced through the shadow monster's heads. Instantly killing them with one attack.

Starting with the first move. The troupe of nightmares step and charge in an all-out attack.

His shadows did the same and charge forward. Most of the thousand monsters were just low leveled minions and can’t do much on the battlefield. The number of shadows immediately decreased.

The troupe of nightmare was indeed strong, but the number of their opponents was already making a  huge toll on their bodies. They started to chase breath and exhausted in the battle. The clown also has few more knives to use as his weapon.

The giant man gets a mushroom from his pocket and swallows it fully. In few seconds his body started to get bigger. The others also did the same.

The shadow pig retreated and was astonished at the things he seeing.

“Are they really humans? They look more monster than us…”

Pig muttered.

The masked man with sharp claws then cut him in the slice.

Yuri and Lei Mei from a far distance seeing the chaos was shocked.

“Berserker mushroom… Once the mushroom was eaten it made the body ten times stronger, but in exchange, the user will lose its mind while it's active. But even with that. They all seem to have control over their body.”

Lei Mei said.

“Now the real fight is about to happen.”

The thousand of small shadows monster was defeated only by five adventurers. With them advancing to the kingdom entrance. A horned shadow loomed over the ground.

From the high wall, it leaps to the ground with an impact enough to make a dent on the ground.

An energetic black Minotaurus appeared.

“Strong opponents! Strong opponents! All of you are strong opponents. Arthurious wanted to fight!”

The minotaur then get a  bottle of positions and threw it to the five adventurers.

“... Arthurious likes fighting fair and square. Arthurious will win fair and square.”

The giant man smirked and with a sinister-looking expression, he charges toward Minotaurus with his fist.  

"Stop talking crap!"

Minotaurus stopped it with a punch. Both fists collied and made a force of the wind.

Arthurian charge using his pointy horn and struck it toward the giant man's chest. Blood was sprayed to the ground.

Behind Arthurious the other four attacks in a consecutive pattern.

Arthurious pulled a huge ax from his back and swing it horizontally. He curs the spider-looking man and the masked man with claws.

The clown throws knives and catches them with his mouth. Hastily he launched the knife back using his mouth back to the clown head.

The midget who use poisonous blade attack sneakily behind Arthurious.

The blade broke before it even cut Arthurious's body.

Arthurious squatted and make an extremely cruel smile looking toward the midget. The midget sweats and his hair falls in instant in fear.

“Raaaaaaa!”

Arthorious made a powerful howling voice that made the ground shake for a while. The midget's heart stopped beating after hearing the powerful howl. He became stiffed and fell with his eyes widely opened.

It made the monster giggle.

“Hahahahaha! Arthurious is the strongest! Arthorious is the strongest! Arthorious is the strongest! Hahahaha!”

He jumps in joy like a kid.

From the mountain, Yuri with a serious face pulled a long chain from her t*****e box.

From a far distance, Yuri throws the chain and wrapped Arthurious body. The happening was too fast. Yuri didn’t give Arthorious any time to move at all.

Yuri will all her strength pulls the chains upwards. Dragging Artirious toward the mountain where they are located.

Yuri slammed his body toward a sharp pointy rock. Arthurious body was pierced open. Arthuriosu tried to struggle and look toward the woman above his head.

“This can’t be… Arthurious was the strongest! I’m the strongest!”

“You’re still alive… I’m surprised, but It's a good thing… That means I can milk you some information.”

Yuri said and get a sharp whip from her t*****e box.

At that moment, Arthurious saw a human that was eviler than monsters. With her terrifying red eyes, she looks down on the huge powerful monster like it was normal.

Screams from the monster and blood tainting the white snow. Yuri continuously put Arthurious into despair.
