After four hours of sitting and trying my best not to feel dizzy, we are finally at our destination. What a blast of milieus and fresh air, well I can say this was not my first putting my feet on Lake Sebu; yet the weather was not the same when feeling the old time. The sun is very attractive that can make my body frazzled. Afterwards, we carry our bags inside the chosen resort name "Sa Balai Lake View Resort”, and I honestly believe now to professor Jeffrey that this resort is Instagramable; It’s true indeed. The entrance of the place is very warm and you can already see the welcome on people's faces towards you. I immediately go to the nearest water dispenser and drink cold water, and after that, I sit on chair and relax myself. I can closely see the beauty of lake Sebu, the lake, plants and people living there is pleasing to my eyes. How blessed I am today huh?
We fixed our things and put them in our chosen rooms. The room I decided to rest in is small yet very organized and clean, it has five double beds, up and down. There’s a size that is good for one person and two people. I’m on a bed that is good for one person because I am honestly not yet comfortable sleeping with my classmates. Well, all of us here in the room is girls so there’s no problem with me having them in a single room, except only on the bed. Especially, I don’t trust strangers when it comes to belongings. I put my bag on my bed and sit, getting my jacket off and drinking the lemon juice that my father said to bring with me. I took my phone to look at the remaining minutes of us to rest before starting the program. We just have 5 minutes left before proceeding and starting the opening program we prepared for the visitors.
Our advocacy titled is “MSU’ans para sa kalikasan” aiming to protect our nature and care for our resources especially lake, fishes, trees and environment. Here at lake sebu, we wanted to give fondness to them and enlighten themselves on how endangered our Lake, trees, and fishes cause of not being responsible and having a care on it. On behalf of Mindanao State University, we gave an opportunity to be here at lake sebu not only to wander around but to wander with do. I, as a young generation, aiming to serve nature for me to have a life, chances and experience. Chances to live with experience. I know to myself that with the help of this journey, the simple way of being aware on what is happening on earth is having a knowledge to fix in a basic ways as a human being.
“Nature can live without people. But, people cannot live without nature“ said the person talking in front and I agree with it. I am sitting on the chair while listening to person in front who’s orienting us for our activities to perform later.“ We first do a tree planting before eating lunch, and proceeding to clean up drive“ said professor Jeffrey before giving us a time to prepare ourselves for the first activity. It just only two days and one night that we’re going to stay here at Lake Sebu. The day one is going to be exhausted for us doing our task , yet, on day two its going to be a blast because it’s our day to wander and relax.
“Can I also ask for your sunblock?” I inquire to my classmate who have one “Sure, just pass it after you to others who also asking it.” she said. Everyone of us preparing ourselves for tree planting activity. I wear my pink jacket and bring my mini black shoulder bag; inside of it are my phone, lip balm, wallet, vicks and mini vintage mirror from my grandma. These things were very important to me. “Guys, Sir Jeff is calling us to go” said my classmate and we immediately go, and bring ourselves into the jeep. Ready to begin the hole digging. Let’s Go Anglers!
