-Anya’s POV- I finally started to regain consciousness and felt the worst pain in my neck radiating down to my back. I tried to move around but quickly realized that I was chained to the floor by my ankles and wrists. Panic immediately started to set in, and I tried to fight against the chains, which ended up making a lot of noise. I couldn’t see anything because it was pitch black, so I continued to thrash about and scream for help, even though I knew deep down that if anyone responded to my screams, it wouldn’t be to help me. When I heard footsteps, my body stopped thrashing so violently, and I finally found my voice. “Is anyone there?” The words came out of me so quietly; no one would have been able to hear them. I heard someone sigh, and a candle was lit in front of me. “Oh Anya, what have you gotten yourself into.” I immediately froze, hearing the familiar voice. “Alex? What are you doing here? Where am I?” He sighed and placed the candle in the corner of the cell. “You’re here because you haven’t been on your best behavior.” I sat there, utterly confused by what he just said. “What do you mean?” Alex smirked at me. “Where should I begin? Oh right, let’s start with the fact that you betrayed the Alpha.” He nodded his head, agreeing with himself. “The moment you betrayed Alpha Damien, your destiny was decided, which is why you ended up here.” Why was he speaking so cryptically? I didn’t understand a single word coming out of his mouth. “What do you mean?! I don’t understand!” I tried to stand up, but my legs felt like jelly, and I ended up falling right back on my ass. I could have sworn Alex’s eyes went black, but that was impossible, right? “Don’t play dumb with me, Anya.” “I’m not playing dumb! I don’t have the faintest idea of what you’re talking about!” He started to slowly walk towards me and I felt the panic building in my chest. Out of nowhere, I remembered the man from my apartment, drugging me before losing consciousness. “Wait!” He stopped in his tracks; his eyebrow lifted in curiosity. “Do you know that man?! The one that drugged me!?” Alex looked at me as though I was an i***t. “Of course, I know him, Anya. He’s my Alpha.” My eyes widened, and my jaw dropped. “But this whole time, you’ve acted like you had no idea who he was!” I screamed, remembering how he acted at the bar and how he accused me of seeing that man. Alex started to laugh, and it echoed off the walls of my cell, invading my senses. “I had to act as if I didn’t know him, Anya. I knew that you would never come back here willingly if you found out about my relationship with the Alpha. And I was right, so the Alpha had to resort to more complex measures.” Alex had walked in front of me, kneeling to my level, and grasped my chin in his hand. I felt the tears start to fall down my cheeks. “You never liked me then; it was all a rouse so that evil man could hurt me again,” I whispered, avoiding Alex’s eye contact. He narrowed his eyes when I said this. “Are you stupid? I wanted you for myself, not to have to share you with the Alpha. And you watch your tongue before saying things like that about him.” His grip on my chin tightened, and I whimpered at the sudden pain. Before I had the chance to say anything else, the man who kidnapped me came into view. “Hello Anya, I see you’re finally awake.”  “Why am I here? What do you want with me?!” I screamed, questioning him. “Oh, Anya. You really don’t remember me, do you?” He asked, walking over to me and switching spots with Alex. He bent down and looked into my eyes, forcing me to look into his. I let out a small gasp as the realization of who this man was finally hit me. He smirked. “What’s my name, Titanya?” He paused, allowing me an opportunity to speak, to which I stayed silent. My body began to shake after hearing my full name leave his lips. The name that I had grown to hate, all because of him. His grip tightened on my chin, and I couldn’t help but whimper. “Say it, Titanya. Say my name.” I felt the tears starting to form in my eyes, and I looked away from him as I whispered his name. “Damien.” He groaned when I said his name as if it brought him some kind of pleasure. After a moment, he looked at me with daggers in his eyes. “How could you not remember me, Titanya? After all those years together, how could you possibly forget me?” He leaned in even closer to me, whispering those words into my ear, sending a shiver down my spine. It wasn’t till now that I realized how large of a cell we were in, which came into better view as the candle burned brighter. I shrunk towards the wall, desperately trying to get away from him. He leaned back slightly, his eyes trailing along my body and his voice threatening. “You will remember me this time Titanya, and you won’t be escaping from me either. Not again, I’m sure of it.” He leaned forward and licked my cheek, making me recoil in horror as the disgusting memories of my past began to fill my mind. Tears started to fall down my cheeks as I realized what was in store for me again. “Please… don’t do it again. Not like last time.” A nasty smile crossed his face. “I knew you would remember me; you just needed some motivation. After all, how could you forget the man who made you into a woman?” His evil laughter filled the cell as tears were steadily streaming down my face. He squeezed my face with his hand, pulling my chin up, forcing me to look at him once more. He held me like this for a few moments, then let me go, shoving my face to the ground. As he walked away, Alex looked at me confused, and all I could do was cry. I screamed at him to leave, but he didn’t move an inch. Instead, he walked over to me and sat on the floor of my cell, pulling me against his chest and running his fingers through my hair. What was going on? Why is Alex acting like this again? Especially after he assaulted me in the alleyway. I started screaming at him again, yelling any horrible thing I could think of to make him leave. He didn’t budge, not one inch. I remembered what he said about saying cruel things about Damien, so I figured I would give that a try. “You’re just as disgusting as Damien, and now that I know you follow someone as evil as him, I will never want you,” I whispered with as much conviction as I could gather. My assumption was correct, and he went rigid against me. In one fluid motion, he pushed me onto my back against the floor of my cell. “I believe I told you to watch that tongue of yours, Anya.” He whispered in my ear, his body pressing into mine. “Whether you like it or not, you will submit to the Alpha and me. You’ll never leave this packhouse again, and no one is going to save you.” Those words cut through my soul, and I couldn’t control my emotions as I started to sob underneath him. Without another word, he released me and walked to the door of my cell. He stood there a moment, thinking of what to say, but quickly left my cell and locked it before disappearing into the darkness. As I sat on the ground of my cell, the memories of Damien’s assaults flooded my mind. I’d been with my captors for many years now, and tomorrow is my sixteenth birthday. It was never celebrated in past years, so I knew it wouldn’t be worth mentioning this year either. When I was bought at six years old, I was made into a slave that cooked, cleaned, and helped the other maids around the mansion. The other maids were young girls and women of all ages, and I had made a few friends with the younger girls. The older maids started to act out towards me when my birthday began to approach, and I wasn’t sure why. It was beginning to frustrate me, but I didn’t know how to deal with those emotions. I finished the rest of my duties and went back to my closet that each of the girls had. I figured I would just sleep it off and quietly celebrate my birthday tomorrow.   I was fast asleep when my door opened, and I felt someone grab my arm, forcing me to wake up as I was dragged down the hall. I looked around in the dark, trying to see who had a grip on my arm, and gasped when I realized it was the man who knocked me out at the auction. I immediately stopped trying to fight him, knowing it wouldn’t do me any good, so I quietly went along with him. He opened a large door and threw me inside, slamming the door shut behind him.   I looked in front of me and saw Master Damien sitting on a bed, looking down at me. “Hello, Titanya.”   I quickly sat on my knees and bowed my head, looking at the floor. “Good evening, Master Damien.”   “Good girl. Now, do you know why I’ve summoned you here?” He asked while reaching forward and grabbing my chin, forcing me to look up at him, his face inches from mine.   I quickly looked back down, knowing I could not look directly at him as a sign of respect. “No, I do not, Master Damien.”   “It’s officially your birthday, is it not?” He said, a condescending tone filling his voice.   My eyes widened. Why would he bring up my birthday this year? I nodded my head in response to his question, which angered him, and his grip on my chin tightened, making me whimper. “Answer me when I ask you a question, Titanya!”   Tears filled my eyes as his grip continued to tighten. “Yes, Master Damien. I turned sixteen at midnight.”   His grip relaxed on my face, and I let out a sigh of relief. “Well, it’s time I gave you your present now, isn’t it?”   I slowly looked up at him, confusion written across my face. “Why do I get a present this year when all of my other birthdays were ignored?” His eyes narrowed; he got up and walked towards me when I realized I spoke out of place.   The back of his hand met my cheek with such force, I fell backward, and before I could say anything, he was on top of me, crushing me with his body weight. “You will do your best to remember who you are speaking to.”   I struggled to breathe and tried to push him off of me. “Pl-Please, Master Damien,” I gasped for air again. “I-I can’t breathe.” I was barely able to speak while he continued to press his body into mine. He lifted himself off of me just barely and hovered over me. I gasped for air as it came crashing back into my lungs. I tried to sit up, and he pushed me back down onto the floor. I looked up at him, confused, trying to figure out what was going on when it hit me like a freight train and why the other maids started acting weird around me. Why they all acted so differently after their sixteenth birthdays and why he would suddenly celebrate this birthday and avoid the rest.   Tears started to fill my eyes. “Please don’t do this to me, Master Damien,” I said softly, not wanting to anger him.   A nasty grin broke out across his face. “It’s time you became a woman, Titanya.” He said while ripping my clothes off, making me scream and cry for help. I flipped myself over and tried to crawl away from him, which I realized was the worst thing I could have possibly done. I heard his belt buckle, felt his hand grab my hair, and slam my face into the floor, immobilizing me. I was too dazed to realize what was going on until I felt the worst pain of my life, and I screamed out, tears streaming down my face until the pain became too much to handle, and I lost consciousness.
