Chapter 1
Twenty years ago… In the western region of California, there stood a man following his friend with a baby in his hands. “What do you think you are doing? You can’t abandon him like this”, Scott said to his friend. His friend turned with angry eyes looking at the baby. “He is not my child, so you can keep him or if I get my hands on him I will definitely kill him”. He said and turned around to leave. “This baby has great powers and if you leave him like this the world will be filled with chaos”. Scott said and threw the baby in the air wielding his sword to strike against the child, but he was stopped by his friend. “Do not  harm him. He may not be my child, but I won’t cause any harm to an innocent child who doesn’t know what’s going on. Take care of him, I will return soon”, his friend said, and ran off. “Araysh!!!” Scott screamed in frustration and ran after him, but the cries of the baby stopped him and he looked towards him. Scott couldn’t believe that his friend had just left the baby for him and ran off. He looked around and he couldn’t find his friend in sight again. He looked at the baby and he smiled. Maybe being a father wouldn’t be such a bad idea, he thought. The baby in his arms was born out of the alchemy of souls. His father, Araysh, exchanged his soul with the king, who was very ill  for just seven days, but the king betrayed him and slept with his wife. Flashback… Araysh was in the mountains admiring the full moon when his friend Scott walked up to him. “Araysh, the king has summoned you to the palace again” Scott said, looking at Araysh eagerly for his response. “I have said it before. I can’t do what he asked for, it is a forbidden sorcery”, Araysh said with an irritated look on his face. He has declined the king’s order many times for this reason. “What is it that you wouldn’t even tell me? Is it that bad? But remember that he is the king of this country and he can eliminate you with a snap of his finger”, Scott replied, patting Araysh’ shoulder and returning to the pack. After Scott left, Araysh thought for a while and decided to grant the king his wish, so he made his way to the palace. He stood in front of the palace and he didn’t have any trouble passing the guards who stood in the front because they already knew of his arrival, so they let him in. The palace gave this eering feeling as he walked in the long hallway leading to the crown room in which the king sat majestically. “Good day my king, you summoned me” he bowed and greeted the king. As he stood there he knew that the king was sick because he looked pale and his energy wasn’t as strong as before. The king coughed loudly and drops of blood came out of his mouth, so Araysh rushed to his side and patted his back. “As a healer and warrior of the pack, you should know that I am sick and I have no time left” the king said in his weak voice, and he looked down. “I am sure that there should be some kind of treatment for it, your highness, and…” he was interrupted as the king held his hand up in the air. “I need you to perform the alchemy of souls”, the king ordered him, and Araysh looked at him in disbelief. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing again. The king knew how dangerous this was to the pack, but him mentioning it again was what baffled him. “You know, this is a forbidden sorcery and it is prohibited for all healers to use it. As the king of the country, you must understand this best”, Araysh tried to explain to the king but the look on the king’s face made him keep quiet. “I am not staying long in your body. I just need seven days to exchange your soul with mine. At least let me enjoy the last bit of my life and you can exchange it back after those seven days” the king responded and leaned back to sit properly. “…” Araysh bent his head and didn’t say anything. “It is an order, so start it now!” The king commanded Araysh, tapping his leg impatiently. Araysh thought it true and he knew that it was wrong, but the king had promised him that in seven days they would exchange their souls back, so he started. “Don’t you think you are doing it in a hurry? I mean, what if he doesn’t want to exchange his soul back with yours? You will be stuck in this old fragile body forever” Araysh Wolf Luca told him. Regardless, he didn’t listen to his wolf and performed the rituals properly and exchanged his soul with the king. After a few days, he heard the news of his wife being pregnant and tried to contact the king but he didn’t answer him. The king’s body was becoming weaker, therefore slowing Araysh’ energy, and he regretted not listening to his wolf. The king finally came to the palace and they returned their souls back leading to the king’s death. Araysh returned home to his wife, finding out that his wife was pregnant but, of course, only him and his best friend Scott knew that. From then, he knew that no matter what, as long as the child would be born into the world, the world would be filled with chaos. Flashback ended Araysh said he would return soon, but days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months and months turned into years. Twenty years later… “You can’t keep going out in the night, Araysh, it’s dangerous out there”, Scott said to  Araysh, who grunted and stomped his foot on the ground childishly. “But, dad, I always stay indoors all the time and I felt suffocated, so I just went out for fresh air” Araysh responded and was about to go back in. “You know that I am doing this for you, right? With the amount of rogues lingering around the borders now, a number of you won’t be safe”, Scott said, making sure not to mention the soul shifters too. “That’s true, but my other friends are going out and I can’t even go to the bathroom alone without you lingering around” Araysh huffed and went inside the house. Scott knew that this day would come soon but he had to prevent Araysh from being the attention of the royal family. Scott went inside but couldn’t find Araysh anywhere, but he looked up to the sky and saw the familiar sign of someone performing the alchemy of souls, so he rushed out to the woods. He could hear Araysh's voice which seemed like he was struggling, so he traced it and saw him being held by a soul shifter who looked like he was already petrifying and needed someone’s energy to take. It seems like his biggest fear has finally come true.
