Awaken

Maverick had his back leaning on Alarick’s desk. He looked to the weak Omega. How could someone so small, cause such a headache. When presented the information, he knew Samuel was her mate. It was obvious. Leum A. Segas. Literally spells Sage Samuel, what a dumb alias. He used his Alpha tone as he spoke, “Lonnie is your mate Samuel?” “Well, he goes by Leum now, but yes.” “What did you do to the pack bond?” She smirked, “I let him experiment on my link through my brain.” Violet covered her mouth before a gasp escaped. Maverick didn’t know this she wolf. He didn’t know if this was the product of a mate like Samuel or if she had a vendetta. “Why?” “He’s my mate. He was going to leave me. I’m an Omega. I would die!” Tears fell. “I only did what I was told. I don’t even know where he is.” Maverick shuffled to her seat. “What did he tell you to do?” “He made it where I could direct the pack bond back at a specific set of people. This is all because of that stupid Luna. She just had to be a vampire. Our alpha would be conscious, if it wasn’t for her.” Sloane held back Taika. “This is because of you!” Maverick sighed, “can you reverse it?” “Not until he tells me to.” “What if I tell you to?” She laughed crazily, “he sends the signal through the mate bond.” ~~~~~~ “You can’t just move a pack that large, it would take months.” Dawn looked at him, “what can I do? Wait, maybe that feeling I had could help.” “What feeling? Dawn you are speaking nonsense, sit down.” “No Elliot! I had a feeling before passing out. It was sent through the pack bond. Maybe if I’m close enough I can send it back.” Elliot’s phone began to ring. “Hello? Yes she is awake. How did you know? Something happened to him?” Dawn grabbed the phone, “happened to who?” “Honey, Alarick is waking up.” She looked to her brother. “I need to switch places with him. I think I can fix this!” “Yeah, we might have a solution, but they will need to switch places.” Elliot looks to Dawn, “let us know when he is fully awake.” “I’m hoping I can push the same feeling I felt back at the source. So I have to find out where the connection came from. It will be tough, but I think I can do it.” ~~~~~~ “Where is Dawn? My King, what is going on?” Maverick looked around, “well we sent Dawn with her brother to see if it was a distant thing. It was she woke up and so did you. When you are rested and ready we will send you to her. She thinks she found a way to break this spell on the pack.” “Wait what is happening to my pack?” Alarick had grabbed change of clothes for both Dawn and him. He grabbed blood for her and extra food for him. They agreed to meet at a hotel, before separating once more. Elliot was going to stay in another room just to make sure they were alright and didn’t have the same issue as before. Alarick was ready to see his mate. Normally you have a run with your new Luna. Then you follow up with a little cat and mouse chase, before heading back to your room. “Hopefully by the time we see you once more Alpha Alarick, all will be righted.” Alarick shook the hands of the Alphas and hugged the twins. He shifted into his wolf and slipped the bigger handled bag around his neck. All he needed to focus on was his mate and he knew he would be there faster than he ever had before. Once approaching the hotel, he dipped behind the building and changed. He followed the intoxicating scent of his mate. Once he saw her in the same dress from the ceremony, his look faltered. This was supposed to be a good occasion for his mate. She didn’t look the list but worried. He was surprised at her reaction and reveled in it. “Alarick!” She threw herself into his arms. “How I have missed you.” He breathed in her scent and stayed unmoving for about five minutes. This was the longest they had been apart so far since completing the mate bond. They would soon have to travel for different events, council meetings especially. He dreaded thinking of that time arriving. “How are you feeling love?” Dawn broke the silence. “So much better now.” They walked to the room hand in hand. Alarick refused to let go of her. They had both felt the connection disappear once awoken. They were miles from each other. Normally you felt the moment your mate stepped away from the bond. It was easier to handle that way. It would lessen at distance. This way you could feel the tiny tether trying to pull you back. The problem however with the instant distance was that tether wasn’t strong enough to be felt. It made you feel empty. Alarick thought back to pack members that had lost their mate and remembered the pain they felt. This made him hold onto Dawn even tighter. “Hey, we are okay. I’m right here. Nothing is going to happen.” He breathed in her smell once more. “I never want to feel this again. I don’t know if I am strong enough to.” “Hey, I’m not going anywhere.”
