Chapter 3
Elara (Seraphine's Soul)
“Strip.” Alpha Kael requested as I stood in front of him inside of his chambers and I bit my lower lip.
The dress was probably made exactly for this moment with the way the buttons ran from top to bottom and it was see through.
I had gotten a little from Elara’s memory, the maid earlier was her best friend—well technically my best friend now.
I began unbuttoning and slipped out of the gown.
I had never been this bare before a man before, except Lucien and I doubt Elara ever had.
“Come.” I lowered my head and frowned before taking slow steps towards him.
“Kneel.” Jeez, does he use any other words? Is he going to die if he says more than one word in a sentence?
He groaned in frustration, standing up from the bed immediately and walked to the window.
“Elara.” He called and I looked in his direction.
“If I want to breed with you tonight, a night after taking you away from your father, what would your answer be?” I rolled my eyes and then said in a low voice:
“I didn't think I had a say or choice so I'd probably just fulfill my duties.”
He grabbed the vase by the table and slammed it onto the wall, coming over to me and grabbed my jaw, glaring at me.
“Why are you doing this?” I squinted my eyes in confusion as he cursed under his breath.
“I don't know what you're talking about, Alpha.” I said softly and he let go of my jaw, staring at me strangely like he couldn't recognize me.
“Your father's pride is probably crushed right now. Seeing how much you loved your father and yet he was willing to give you away so willingly, you must be really hurt.” He stated and I shook my head in negativity.
“I'm not. Things happen and we can't change it anyways.”
Just then I felt a tingling sensation down my back, probably the wind.
Probably not.
It felt like butterflies in my belly. Like I was suddenly almost too excited to see Kael in front of me.
“Mate.” The words echoed inside of my head and my eyes widened while Kael looked gagged like he never in a million years thought something like this would happen.
“What? No. It can't be.” He said, taking a few steps away from me, to glare at me fully.
This man is my mate? Or Elara's mate?
The goddess would have been nicer and let me know how to work all of this out, each step gets me confused.
One thing was my priority though: I was going to get revenge on Lucien and Lilith for what they did to me in my past life.
“There's no way the goddess would mate me with you.” He roared.
From someone that has seen and spoken to the goddess, she looks like someone who would wreak havoc for fun.
It was as though he was restricting himself from hurting me. If his hands probably came on me one more, he would tear limb to limb.
“Well—”
“Get out!” He ordered.
“But I believe I have obligations to—” I cut in and he raised his head. His eyes had turned pitch black letting me know that there were probably a lot of things about Elara that I wasn't sure about yet.
“I'll leave now, Alpha.” I said and walked out of the room.
“Gosh, that was scary and this is annoying.” I cursed as I walked back to the maids quarters.
“Why are you out here? Shouldn't you be in the Alpha's Chambers?” It was that lady from earlier.
Head maid, One of the lead gamma's and a b***h as we're at it.
“Don’t stare at me when I ask. Use your words.” She warned, raising her hands when I grabbed it mid air.
“I might not be a princess around here but one thing princesses know how to do is discipline lowlifes who can't keep their hands to herself.” I seethed, still holding her wrist as tight as I could.
“You think you're a princess? You're a maid here.” She snapped, wincing and I grabbed the other hand, pushing her to the wall.
“I'm the Alpha's breeder, oh and if I'd spread the word, his mate too.”
“I will be bearing the Alpha's heir, I don't think he would find it enthralling that you're hitting me when his child is most likely to be wrapped in my wombs.” I raised my hands to slap her and she shrieked, covering her face with her hands.
It's always like this with those who hurt others, they could never take what they dish out.
I might have been a doormat and perhaps Elara was one too but being a doormat in two life's, with two personalities was just twisted.
In this life, while plotting my revenge against Lucien, I was going to step it up a notch.
“Princess Elara, you could get punished for attacking the head maid.” Lilith said, stepping closer to us with a basket in hand. She must have been going for some kind of errand.
My evil step sister.
She didn't only steal my future, her actions stole my life as well and she was going to pay for it.
All of them. Every single one for them that made me hurt, I was going to hurt them just for my baby's sake.
“Oh. I'm sorry then.” I said softly, folding my fist.
I wanted to tear her apart, I wanted to show her how it felt to be dumped on the altar while she eloped with Lucien and came to this pack.
“Don't be offended though, you look familiar. I think I might have seen you somewhere, do you have a sister?” I asked Lilith as the head maid scurried off.
“Uh, what?”
“I said you look familiar, I think I might have seen someone who looks like you, but she seemed older. It's been a while so my memory is all fogged up.” I wanted to hear what she thought of me, if she was remorseful even a bit.
Maybe that would dissuade me.
“Oh, right. It might be my father's bastard daughter. She's a nuisance, I don't know her whereabouts. It was nice meeting you Princess Elara, I'll be on my way now. I have to go meet my husband.” I smiled and nodded while she walked.
That smile quickly contorted to a frown.
Bastard daughter.
Nuisance.
She wasn't remorseful, she wasn't repentant and that cut even deeper than any physical sword ever will.
“Are you lost?” I turned.
“Alaric, Alpha Kael’s beta,” He stretched his hands out for a shake, “Aren't you the breeder? Shouldn't you be with the Alpha?”
Why does everyone keep asking me that?
“I…”
My heartbeat thudded and I flicked my gaze to him as he quickly withdrew his hands.
“Mate.” My wolf whispered and my eyes widened in shock.
A harem? I was mated to Alpha Kael and His beta, Alaric?
How? How is this even possible?
