CHAPTER5

Belinda

The shock that gripped my whole body as those cold words came out of his mouth.

The shame. The disregard. The mockery.

I fell to the ground as tears rolled down my subtle cheeks.

Suddenly, Selena walked up to Alpha Cain and threw her arms around him.

He smiled.

"Tell them, Cain. Let them know we belong to one another," she said softly to him.

I cried.

"So this was his plan all along? To disgrace me in front of everyone?"

I cried once more.

Selena looked at me and hissed.

She walked with Cain who didn't even look back at me at all.

I sat there and cried my eyes out as he walked away.

I was mocked and ridiculed as the others walked away, laughing at me.

"What was she thinking?" One of the wolves uttered.

"In your wildest dreams would you become the Alpha's mate!" another uttered and spat in my face.

"Belinda!" My wolf called out.

I woke up instantly.

Geez! I must have dozed off right on that spot.

It was night already and everywhere seems quiet.

I walked back to my quarters and not long after, I heard a loud knock at the door.

I peeped through the door hole to see who was there and suddenly four hefty men stormed in, pushing me to the ground.

"Aaarghh!" I groaned.

"Who are these people?"

"What are they doing here?"

"Who sent them?"

They won't even allow me to talk.

I was kicked in the stomach.

Rough-handled and punched.

They won't stop hitting me.

I tried to crawl to the front door but a figure suddenly appeared stooping me from reaching out to the door knob.

I looked up to see Selina dressed in a long black gown, her eyes almost popping out of its socket as she gave me that intense wicked stare.

"What have I done to deserve this? You have done as you wish already," I cried out.

"Shut it. I have nothing to say to you. I am so irritated by your presence. Your existence! It pisses me off," she shouted at me.

"You think I would just sit and allow you try to seduce Cain again? Over my dead body!"

"This day shall be your end!"

"Men, take her away from her, far from the pack house. Go into the woods, kill her and dump her body somewhere!" she instructed the hefty men.

"Uhn? Kill? No! Please I don't want to die," I pleaded.

Before I could say another word in protest, I feel them lift me off the ground and one of them sealed my mouth tightly with cellotape.

I tried to make a sound but no one would hear me as my lungs were already weak and the cellotape over my mouth made my voice sound muffled.

They carried me on their shoulders and in that moment, I felt like everything was coming to an end.

"I never did anything wrong. I have been ridiculed, disgraced and now rejected. What did I do to Selena for her to repay me with death?"

As they carried me along, my eyes became dizzy.

We met some Omegas on the way and yay I felt a bit safe. At least, they would confront the men and help me out.

But they saw me and did nothing.

"Oh, is that not her? The witch who wants to have the Alpha to herself? Take her away!" They echoed as the men carried me carelessly into the woods.

I am helpless.

Scared and in tears.

We walked deep into the woods and they threw me down to the ground like trash

They removed the tape in my mouth and without wasting any second, I screamed.

I was met with another heavy punch in my stomach and I spat blood on the leaves.

"Please, don't kill me! I have done nothing wrong," I pleaded.

They brought out a knife and just as the man was about to stab me, a shriek rented the air.

Strange sounds started coming from everywhere.

The men became scared of a sudden and started looking around to know where the sounds came from.

This is my cue.

I tried as much as I can to crawl away only for me to fall from a hill.

I landed on my back.

"Oh goddess, I couldn't feel my legs"

I saw the men look at me from up the hill.

I was scared they would come down to get to me.

I felt paralysed. My body went numb.

They must think I am dead.

I saw them walk away.

I sat still till I could feel my legs again.

I crawled away out of fear the men might come back and finish the work they were sent to do.

I wander in the woods.

Lost and deserted.

"Perhaps I would end up dying here," I mumbled.

Suddenly, I sensed a strange scent.

"Who is there? I shouted as I limped.

My legs were really weak.

There was no response.

That scent. That wolf scent. I could still feel its presence around me in the woods.

I wasn't alone.

"Who are you and why are you out here alone?" A husky voice echoed in my head from behind.

I was startled.

I looked back to see his wolf.

A big red wolf.

His furs smooth and shiny.

His eyes were golden brown and sometimes appeared red when I look deeper.

His stance was confident and I couldn't maintain contact with his eyes as they pierced my soul with bliss.

I totally forgot I was in pain.

"I am talking to you. Identify yourself, young lady," he said.

My mind cleared and I fell to my knees.

Immediately, he held my arms and helped me to my feet.

"You don't look okay. You should come with me," he spoke in a soft tone.

I blushed but hid it quickly.

He carried me gently on his back.

"Alpha Jonas. The patrol is here," a grey-haired man appeared out of nowhere and said with a bow.

"Alpha Jonas?"
