Chapter Eight

"What is my baby doing?" She came from behind and sat behind on the chaise lounge Manik had been sitting facing the beach. He was shirtless and she was in his shirt. Slowly wrapping her hands around his chest from behind, she kept her head on his back while he smiled and kissed her palms "Just enjoying your peaceful presence in this chaotic world"

She giggled "Honeymoon is seriously the best trip!" He hummed and both witnessed the sun waving bye to them and the moon waving a 'hello' to them. They breathed together as they loved together. He went inside the small mansion built on one of the private beaches owned by Malhotras in Seychelles.

"Are you disturbed?" She asked handing over a tee from the cupboard to him to which he shook his head and came out of the washroom and lied on the bed.

"Tell me, what's the problem?" She snuggled to him to which he caressed her hair "Nothing, you sleep"

"Manik Malhotra! You are not going to spoil our honeymoon keeping this grumpy mood on! Tell me the problem RIGHT NOW" She demanded answers to which he let out a small smile and spoke "Alya needs a divorce from Dhruv" She nodded in understanding "Yeah. He had been cruel to her"

"Ikr. He's a businessman. He has got problems. He is going through loss but he can't just slap her" She widened her eyes "Did he?"

"Today morning only he did. She told him that she might be pregnant but he just slapped her and yelled at her. That's so wrong" He took a deep breath "He even forced her yesterday night" Nandini's body started giving in to this cruelty and she shivered with fear. Manik caressed her hair and then kissed her forehead, knowing how fragile she was "I am not going to raise my hand ever! You know that, don't you?" She smiled a little, feeling equally bad for Alya and kissed his palm "I know Manik"

"And you know how the media is. Dhruv was once spotted with some unknown girl and the media clicked it and that led to another argument between them. This is so cruel.. I can't. She's my best friend and I can't do anything" Nandini caressed his stubble and then kissed his palm "Let's cut the trip short. Alya needs you"

"But even you wanted to be with for so long.. It's after two months that I am taking you out for our honeymoon.. You wanted this so badly!" She smiled at her baby and caressed his chest "Everyday is beautiful with you baby, be it in Seychelles or Mumbai. Let's go back, Alya needs us"

Manik quickly took her in embrace and started showing kisses on her neck "I love you, I love you so much" She giggled and kissed his nose tip "I love you more, baby"

"Manik. I have a fashion assignment in Milan, I don't think I will be able to accompany you or not.. I am extremely sorry" She said after being notified about the two weeks-long by her secretary, Rhea.

"It's okay baby. I will wait for you" He kissed her on the lips and boarded the private jet while she went for some airways.

As soon as she felt her eyes dropping due to heavy workload, she decided to switch on the small television provided to her business class cabin on the flight.

'DID MANIK MALHOTRA HAD A FIGHT WITH HIS WIFE?'

'NANDINI MANIK MALHOTRA NOT SPOTTED. IS EVERYTHING RIGHT?'

She giggled at the lame headlines the media was giving out and remembered their early morning kiss "Why so desperate to separate us?" She laughed out and had her lunch when Manik called her.

It's been a week already and Nandini was all engrossed in her fashion assignment that she hardly could attend a call a day from her husband. Not that her husband complained, having he supported her just the way she does.

Nandini was hell tired and entering her room, she could only doze off on the bed. She checked her phone and found no missed calls from Manik and that tensed her a little. After freshening up, she switched on the TV when she found a video clip running on an elite news channel with the headline "MANIK MALHOTRA HUGGED HIS 'GOOD FRIEND' ALYA AND HIS WIFE IS SEEN NOWHERE"

He was going to meet Alya? He didn't tell her yesterday? He could have!

She tossed the iPhone and in a minute or two, opened her w******p to see both Manik and Alya online at the same time.

She noticed the video carefully and found her giggling while he was smiling. Wasn't she just sad?

Nandini called Manik for a minute but soon hung up and closed her eyes to stop her over thinking.
