Chapter 64

1663 Words

Gabe   It was the weirdest thing to come back to.    Gabe had taken Katelyn to go see the small nearby town. They ended up eating out at a small restaurant that overlooked another end of the lake that they were staying at. Really, they were squatting, but Alex seemed to think that this John character wouldn’t have minded their stay.    The restaurant was one of those places where if Gabe were to take her on a date, it would never be this place.   It had ornamental dead animals everywhere, checkered everything, and mismatched moose and bear décor. There was nothing wrong with it, but Katelyn needed the type of feet-sweeping, magical type s**t.   Twinkling lights in a tree overlooking a pond with swans.    A horse-led sleigh ride in an empty city with a light snow coming down.
